    OUR biggest game of the season and you choose to stop in and watch Chelsea. All you should be thinking of is getting behind the team regardless who is manager etc. The Team need the fans, the younger players need the support tonight is MASSIVE!!!

    Ireland strikes me that he will not be consistent in this period of half decent form. I fully expect him to slide back to direness soon.

    So for me while his stock is as high as it has been in the last 2 years and we have some chance of recouping at least half of his value when we bought him I would flog him to QPR if they are indeed interested in him[/quote

    Such a poor comment "i expect him to slide back to direness soon" I think this is his longest run in the team since his been here and his playing well. Before he was in out of the team and couldn't get any form. The lads playing well and us as fans still have to put the boot in!!

    Don't rate him, he's been very average again this season, at best. Hasn't been as bad as he was last season though, probably because he hasn't been as defensive.

    Views like this often come from those who have never played, or understand the game

    Petrov gets through an amazing amount of work, which usually goes unnoticed by the layman. He's been out best player this season

    Agreed!! Such a good player how people can say his no good is beyond me.

    no desire makes u laff. there goal come from nzogbia losing the ball hutton being out of position. Warnock was more at fault than anyone on the pitch. Out of position let his man have an easy header at the back post. Too many people jump on the band wagon to have a go at ireland. What about when he ran the whole length of the pitch but nzogbia never passed him the ball. If he did pass him the ball and he scores does he go from having no desire to having lots of desire.

    I was speaking to Shane Lowry in the royal last friday. He said Stephen ireland is an unbelievable player just needs to get his form sorted. He sees him day in day out so...... Also said Jermaine Jenas is a quality quality player and will bring alot to the team.

    People should probably start paying more attention to him when he plays. Last night, his runs were extremely clever, and his passing at times was exceptional to play people through. He made a lot more effort than he did all of last season. He is due a start and a goal I feel. I Look forward to seeing 'Ireland 7' emblazoned across the back of shirts around Villa Park in the coming months!! Give the lad a chance.

    Agree with this. Only player to make any sort of runs off the ball. But no one in claret and blue could find him. They were all good at finding white shirts though. He has so much quality on the ball he needs to start on sunday.

    thought he played well last night. Always tried to use the ball well. Dont know what certain fans want from him. His performances are never good enough for some fans. Bannan probaley gave the ball away more times than ireland but he doesnt get any stick. Should of scored two, if he missed kicked his first chance it probaley would of went in. To be fair to the keeper it was a really good save. I still think he will come good for the villa but i dont think he'll ever win some fans over. His in with the petrovs and heskeys of this world. No matter what he does it will never be good enough to certain fans!

    This is problem people have they cant seem to forget the past. Dont think it matters how well Stephen Ireland might play if he does one bad pass theres always going to be a few people in the stand shouting f**k off u useless blah blah. Same with Heskey, against Walsall i thought he played well he did one bad pass and the bloke behind shouting f**k off u useless donkey. Albrighton who hasnt had a good pre season game will not get ne abuse because well i dont know why!!?!?! I dont think his beat one full back all pre season and people dont have a go at him. Some Villa fans once they dislike someone regardless of what the player/manager does it will never be good enough. Same goes for Mcleish i dont think he'll have a chance. As soon as Derby scored on wednesday fans behind me were shouting f**k off u useless blue nose word removed.

    1 good year and we are still hoping it wasnt a waste of 8 million?

    even man city fans who used to idolise him as he was one of their own, think he is mental and lost it.

    if we can get £3million and him off the wage list i will be happy. he is not worth the risk, the disharmoney, the dispartity of his pay compared with the likes of albrighton who wants to play, has played and will continue to play add to that the piss poor publicity that surrounds him, his lies and general stupidity.

    all that could be almost excused if he had a decent season last year, he was shit and then pretended to get injured all the time

    £80k per week he is reportedly on

    no wonder NRC wanted more money seeing the likes of this clown get paid more than double what he was on.

    he is a proven liar making up excuses to not play games, if your happy wishing he were in our side at the expense of someone on less than half his wage who puts effort and passion and skill into their game and actually provides something for the team then fine.

    odd though you want the team to be even weaker than it is already looking, and want to disillusion players such as albrighton, delph, bannan, clark and any other player who plays for us.

    Yes i want the team to be weaker, thats exactly what i want. I want to spend my money on following the team up and down the country for us to lose every week. I want whats best for my club like every other fan. I just dont see the point in fans not giving the lad a chance before the season has even started. Yes he probaley is a rocket polisher and he lies, sounds like most footballers. If he has a good pre season scores a few goals plays well will you not give the lad a chance?!?

    Exactly with limited funds available we need to strengthen in different areas where we dont have players. Warnock had a year to forget but the year before he was a solid left back for us and went to the WC. Ireland has a lot of qualities but he has to show it. He was a let down last season but maybe a new manager coming in is what he needed. If he doesnt take his chance **** him off. Selling him we would get sweet FA. So why not give him a chance..
