Potential red card aside; solid game and solid Prem centre back IMO.
In the air very few in the league could match him.
Would also look better on the ball if he was playing left side (but obviously can’t with Mings!)- 2

Is truly sickening how much it’s changed the game. No emotion or ecstasy anymore - nothing like it.
I didn’t celebrate one goal tonight as I presumed first one was going to be “offside”, second would be handball on Grealish somehow and then the third goal the game was over.
If this stays in the game I predict I’ll have 100% weaned myself off of football within the next 5 years. Complete waste of my time like this.
The missus will be happy at least

Feel like I’ve watched about 10 minutes of actual football in this game

28 in March. He's not going to get any better!
Could easily be the sort of player who peaks a few years later - say 30 - considering he didn’t start playing centre back regularly until he was 25/26
Not physically but tactically he’ll only get better. Which is of course a huge part of his position

Bring back Glenn Whelan
Wow I’d almost deleted that moment from my memory
One of the most bizarre ends to a game

Keinan Davis is an absolute goal machine for me somehow
Has scored 14 goals and am only in December. Including 5 in one game against Leeds

Never felt more like sacking off football. Much preferred being horrific at a sport I enjoyed than mediocre at whatever this game is we’re playing
Obviously hyperbole but the game just isn’t enjoyable like this

This is absolutely dreadful

Best debut since Carles Gil (also against Liverpool)
Seriously though what a tank

100% for me.
I liked Sunderland 6-1 too

We’re really living in a simulation aren’t we

Conor against a high intensity, high pressing Liverpool would get eaten alive.
I’m not saying he would play better than Barkley. I’m saying what I think Smith will do.
Would be very surprised if Hourihane’s dropped.

Not sure Smith will drop Hourihane after his last performance. Even if he’d like to for Barkley. Could do more harm than good in terms of the message it sends

Anyone else hear the commentator describe him as an “attacking fullback”

His new haircut looked nice

If he gets even one league goal I’ll be amazed!

I like him more every time I see him play.
Some might scoff but genuinely think he could get double figures this season (if he remains second choice striker and we won't bring anyone else in).
Very attack minded but at some point would like to see Watkins and Traore either side of Davis, with Jack dropping back into midfield.

No. Just no.
This self loathing/self critical stuff is just rubbish, sorry it is. I blame O'Leary.
Our fans are no different to any other set of fans.
Preach!
It seems to be very fashionable at the moment to blame our fan base / crowd for the lack of team success and I'm getting bored of hearing it.
The vast majority of Villa fans are class and I can't believe that the rest have a big enough voice to negatively influence the team in such a way. Next excuse

Still no video of the hand to mouth incident then?? Not seen it yet

Wasn't he more suggesting that maybe in the future Xia might own a chinese football club and then it would be more likely that he would sign a player like Drogba for the 'Chinese Villa' ?
Edit: Just noticed someone already replied basically this on previous page

Makes the odd mistake but it's refreshing to have a midfielder who surprises you and tries to make things happen. Really like what I've seen so far.
-
Yeah really doesn't make any sense to me either - think it's just ignorance as De Laet would be class for us at this level. When they won the championship that season all my Leicester supporting mates raved about him, he really was one of their best players that year.

Really like that team. A lot less weak links than there was in Sunday's XI.

The team's in desperate need of a spark at the minute and I've got a feeling that JJ could be the one to step up for us.
