  1. Hi General,

Are the club aware that those of us travelling to Hong Kong that purchased £36 tickets, via the club (the dearest available), are sitting in just about the worst possible section in the ground, in the lower tier right by the corner flag. I would have thought the dearest tickets would be in the Upper tier near the halfway line, wouldn't you?. Locals are paying £10 - £16 for the same tickets.

You could say that if you can afford to go to Hong Kong, what difference does another twenty quid make, but nobody likes to be taken for a mug.

    Any comments?,

    Thanks for your time.

  2. The tickets for Saturday 30th July games sold out in two days in Hong Kong apparently, giving a 40000 capacity. The three English teams travelling fans are all located in the dearest seats, the only reserved ones in the ground.

Still some tickets left for Wednesdays game locally.

  3. Yeh that's not a bad idea to be fair. The airport is a fair distance from the city centre so there's not much to do there. It would be more convenient for you in regards getting to and from the airport, but being in the city centre would be better in terms of stuff to do here. Worth hinking about, although likely to be more expensive to stay there too.

Oh, I am definitely considering going to city centre during the non Villa match days. Once I get my bearings down and I know the train to get down there, it won't be an issue for me to go to and from the city centre on my open days. I don't drink so I am not thinking of hanging out in pubs late Friday and Saturday nights. I am curious if the trains travel back and forth from the city centre to the airport stops after any certain time of night.

Last train from Birmingham New Street to International is 2353 Mondays - Fridays, 4/5 trains per hour from 2100 ish. Last train Saturday is 2313, 2 per hour late evening. Last train on Sunday is 2314, 2/3 per hour late evening. These times won't change until mid May approx.

I just notice that when I was first considering flights to choose from that most of my departure ones out of Birmingham were early in the morning. This is why I feel like I prefer to at least stay near the airport.

  4. I reckon if it's City we have to play, it'll be on Wednesday 2nd March. ( prob the same date if Notts pull it off in the replay, due to ticket sales).

City's midweek fixtures after Notts Co. on 19/20th Feb are,

    Thurs 24/2 Aris, home, Europa

    Wed 2/3 no game

Thurs 10/3 Europa (if they beat Aris)

    Thurs 17/3 Europa (" " " ").

If we drew at COMS, then the replay would have to be on Sunday 13th March, the weekend of the sixth round.

Just been pointed out to me that City are on TV on Monday night 28th Feb, so 2nd march is a no go. 13th March would have to be the date.

  6. No chance of this getting down to just ST sales then? I want 4 tickets and Ive got 2 ST's with 3 aways but the other 2 don't have any.

When you phone up on the 19th, say you want 4 and all have attended 3 away games. They tend to check the first accounts history but not the rest so you could get all 4 on the 19th. I've just succesfully got an extra ticket by doing it :)

And im 18, i asked for an u19 ticket to find out the is no such thing, apparently a typo on the OS, and its actually u18 :(

You must have got lucky there Spl. I've been buying away tickets for several years, including six this morning, over the phone, and have always had to give ref number, surname and first line of the address. I know they've checked the history, because on occasions, they've queried the number of games booked previously.

You might get the first two sg, but doubtful for the second two, I reckon.

  8. can anyone remember how soon after the draw tv fixtures are announced? id like to think there are more appealing games than ours to be shown but would like to know for sure before booking train

  9. Excellent, thanks mate

Just checked. Trains are 1004 and 1104 from Bescot to Witton, 13 min journey. 1426 out of Witton back, 14 min journey. Aston is 3 mins different.

There are no additional "Football Specials" on Sunday btw.

  10. Hi all, I'm a season ticket holder and usually get the trains from Tiverton for the game but they arent running early enough to get there on Sunday. So I'm planning to drive into a train station on the outskirts of Brum and get a local train to Aston/Witton.

Anyway my question is are there any stations that are reasonably cheap and safe enough to park at and close enough to the ground? Cheers.

Assuming you're coming up the M5, probably best to go to M5/M6 interchange, onto the M6 Northbound, then turn off at the first junction, SP Walsall, turn right at bottom of slip road, then follow signs to Bescot station (right by Walsall FC). It's four(?) stops to Witton from there, Aston one stop further. Best check it's not a bus service though.

  11. All we did is cross, very obvious, very ineffectual. One dimensional rubbish.

Because Wolve's tactics of bodies behind the ball meant to had to get it out wide and force crosses to create chances. We were never going to pass it through them for most of the game.

Wolves tactics didn't force us to go wide. Our only tactic is to get the ball wide whoever we play. We never pass it through any team, any time.

  12. Im a season ticket holder living in South Wales, but have never been to an away game. Will try and get tickets for this but i have no knowledge of the away support scene at all.

What do most people do? Get on supporters buses? Also if i turn up to a Villa pub on my own will it be fairly friendly? i.e. i dont really want a lonesome day stood on my doug.

    Alright mate,

If you're coming on your own from S. Wales, you'd probably be as well on the train. When you get off at Reading, go into the pub that's joined onto the station on the right hand side as you leave the station ( can't remember it's name just now). Rest assured it'll be packed with Villa. I wouldn't be surprised if there's not a few more on the train up either. There's a shuttle bus to the ground across from the pub.

Tbh, if you car it, it'd probably be a bit lonely, given there's no away pubs near the ground and the car parking is crap and dear.

If you go for the train option, message me and meet me and a couple of others in there if you want.

  13. The Perseverance, 11 Shroton St, just round the corner from Marylebone station, has declared itself Villa only, with a 1000 opening time. Not been there before myself, but word is it's a decent boozer. Having said that, it seems from reading numerous threads on various sites that most pubs in the Baker St/ Marylebone/ Edgeware Rd area will be full of Villa boys (and girls!).

  14. palace is a ball ache feom euston and marlybone. think you have to get tube to kings cross ten a land train to palace. isnt it over by charlton athletics ground

Best bet from Euston is Victoria line tube to Victoria mainline station, then train to Selhurst (3 or 4 an hour, I think). You can also get off at the stop before (Thornton Heath).
