  1. Just to warn you lads, the last time I did Albion away we tried to get in the Royal Oak but the whole pub was closed. And there was no-where else near to the ground.

Also, before West Ham away, WMP put on their Twitter that "The Central" was the away pub when in actual fact, it hadn't been the away pub since December 2010.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if WMP want all the Villa to turn up to the Royal Oak, find its closed because of the derby, and watch every Villa fan trundle off to the ground early without having had a drink.

I might be wrong of course, but I'd say the safer option was somewhere like the Rose Villa Tavern in Hockley first and then perhaps the Royal Oak for a quick one before kick-off. That's what I'll be doing anyway.

    UTV!

How wrong you were sir! Thought the atmosphere was really good in there...

Glad to here it. The Rose Villa Tavern was quality and made even more so by a token bluenose sitting outside in the sun with all the Villa in a Barcelona top. To say he got verbally raped would be an understatement.

Ye it was good outside and what was a Blues fan doing in a Barca top!!!

  2. This for me aswell Ash and Gabby need to swap as Gabby is more of a goal threat up front with Heskey and Ash is better on the left.

do you think lee mason is an option for motm on the chelsea forums? absolutely **** terrible ref

if we'd have lost id have come on here blaming lack of subs, 2nd half we got away with them being shit IMO lampard didnt run as much of the game as he can but i dont think that was down to us, drogba also should have scored at the death

ash/gabby was a strange one worked well until bosingwa came on, friedel made some brilliant saves then could have done better with the 3rd goal, albrighton **** it up then redeemed himself brilliantly and clark took his goal really well, still not confident in ash taking pens but thats 2 of the best keepers getting nowhere near his last 2

clark MOTM heskey very close 2nd and as someone else said dunne wasnt spectacular but compared to how he has been he looked great

  3. From shouting at the telly and telling everyone **** football when Terry scored to jumping around like a nutter when Clark scored fantastic!.

If we hadn't of got the equliser after working so hard I think the players would have hit a new low, but we kept going and deserved a point. The ref was a bit card happy towards are players but I don't think this affected the game as Villa get deeper and deeper in games without players on so many yellows. Same spirit against Sunderland Wed and we can start moving away from the bottom 3. :D

  4. Not our night tonight nor has it been all season regarding results. The obvious thing thats letting us down is the defence. Poor for both goals from Collins and Dunne. 1st goal Dunne headerd it backwards under no real presure and Collins let it bounce (why?). 2nd Dunne was slow to get across to cover and Collins only had one thing to do and that was to cut the cross out, which he didn't get near. The less obvious is Ashley Young,

Touted as a genius by MON, this season he has looked anyting but. He is our best/most creative player and yet he does next to nothing all game. His crossing was poor, his desision making was poor and worst of all his attiude is piss poor. If Albrighton recovers well I would sell AY in January without a seconds thought.

P.S Blues got lucky, but what i would give for their CB's and GK right now!!!.

  5. Made hard work of that! but in the hat for the next round. Nothing up front till Heskey came on and never looked like scoring untill then. I thought Bannan and Sidwell made too many mistakes tonight. Midfield will be a problem Sunday with Stan and Albrighton out, Ireland hasn't got going yet and everything he tries goes wrong. Anyway don't mind who we get next round as long as its at Villa Park!!!!.

  6. 4-4-2 and use the bigger pitch to stretch the 3 in Chelsea midfield. This should give us more chance than 4-5-1 as we don't get our 2 centre midfielders in support quick enough to get behind Chelsea. Also as we did at VP against Chelsea get into Terry from the off and that includes the Villa fans.

  7. Well done guy's for getting out of the mess you created with a poor first half. Carew 2nd half was the player we have been looking for all season. He should start the next game and we might see him go on one of his runs of good games/scoring. The midfield 2 of Petrov & Milner look leggy. We need to give these a rest if poss as they will run out of gas when it matters, a bit like last Sunday in the 2nd half. Come on boy's UTV.

  8. Not good but not that bad. Palace done what any 1st division side would do in a 5th round fa cup tie at home, fight for everyting. 2 soft goals to give away from us. Ambrose has a good freekick in him so we should have had 3/4 in the wall. It;s our attacking play that isn't right just now. Last 3 games has been hit and miss. Our 2 wingers have been below par and Milner. This has resulted in the forwards having nothing to go on. We need to sort this out as we can't rely on defenders and defensive midfielders to come up with the goals to get us out of jail.

  9. Well done Villa tonight. 1-0 sets us up to complete the job at Villa Park.

The team done well as we hadn't played in 12 days some of the players more than that. That amount of time without a game takes some of your match fitness away so well done for going right to the end. first half could and should have had more than the 1 goal ( ref didn't help ), Blackburn where shit and got in at half time lucky to be only 1 goal down.

Second half and Big Fat Sam must have told his team to play like his old Bolton used to play because thay just pumped the ball 50-60 yards most of the time. We held out and Blackburn started to get dirty, this never put us off and we held on to an important 1-0 lead.

2nd leg we need to score first and the tie is over.

P.S well done to the fans as well none stop chanting all 2nd half.

  10. Top draw from all the lads today. Chelsea played well but we just had an answer to most of there attacks today, and when they did get past us Brad did his job well. MOM for me is Warnock for his outstanding defence and also for his not stop running to support or attacks down the left. Must now go on another winning run to stay in and around the top so 3 points next week against the dog heads will do me. :D

  11. Well done to the boy's. 4-5-1 works away from home but at Villa park we need to play 4-4-2 as other teams will come and defend all day. I have said a few times that NRC should play as he gives us drive and bite in midfield. All the VT's who go on about his passing might see the real value of NRC tonight. Any way excelent 3 points and lets follow it up Sunday with another win. :D
