PL wants some NOISE

Some of you are so full of angst!

Seeing as things are quiet, maybe it's time to suggest a possible explanation for events over the last 10 days, which will a) be food for discussion and annoy briny_ear (mwahahahaaa).

- The club get in contact with OGS, having done a bit of homework on him.

- Initial discussions are good, and he tentatively agrees to become the Villa manager, but doesn't want to drop Molde in it.

- RL flies him to Brum for further talks but there's a leak and Molde's financial backer finds out.

- There is a surge of support from Villa fans for the idea of OGS as manager.

- The proverbial tomato hits the fan in Norway and Rokke threatens to withdraw his support. OGS is not happy with Rokke

Now the next bit is a combination of wishful thinking and wishfully-reading-between-the-lines:

- OGS realises if he ups sticks Molde will be left without financial support, but he still wants to manage Villa.

- OGS and Villa have further talks where a cunning plan is hatched.

- OGS and Rokke sign a new contract, whereby Rokke commits his finances to Molde in return for a change in OGS's contract.

- The change in OGS's contract improves the terms for Molde, but not to a price that Villa aren't willing to pay.

- OGS resigns himself to managing Molde for an unspecified number of additional games (until the 1st of June, say).

- Villa bide their time before putting in an offer for OGS.

- Molde accept the offer, since they are assured of Rokke's backing and are getting a nice payout from Villa.

Well?

Plausable, but I don't think Lerner would swallow the compensation that has introduced.

Can't help but think that what with the private jet being sent out, OGS must have been first choice. I think that after him saying he would wait on Villa for the next move, they will have been disappointed at the final outcome.

The waiter would be a good appointment, but I don't see it fitting with the criteria that has been set out.

I've got a feeling it will be someone more leftfield, simply because I can't see the favourites taking the job.

as Millibend would put it, 'too fast, too hard'! the club needs to find some level of success to start balancing the books else it will be a slippery slope. Lerner needs to correct the financial mess we're in by growing the club back our rightful position of 5th most successful Premiership team!!

I think it's a little implausable to think we will sell most of our first team!! Who ever comes in will have to utilise potential, and we know that most of them can have a good game, they just need to have lots of them.

Deserving of a new contract or not, he should have been approached about being released.

So communication is clearly a problem at Villa, but then you read the quotes from Carlos and it looks as though the players have to deal with the same problem. I cannot believe that they never approached him about the expiry of his contract. I'm starting to think that the board are a mess! That is disgraceful.

They are kinda in lose/lose situation, if they'd communicate more then there'd be higher chance of media finding out about candidates and so on, but because they (have to) stay quiet, the fans get frustated due uncertainty and lack of communication.

because their crap. But honestly if we got Martinez, I would be bloody delighted, I realised he's actually a year younger than OGS! Look at the comparative experience.

RM was my first choice last year, and first choice again this time round. Let's hope that Liverpool fans demand a bigger name.

If RM was brought in he'd without doubt be backed by the fans. In the situation that the club is in he is a the top end of who we can get, so was OGS and so is PL.

It does look like AVB would be a perfect fit actually & i would be intrigued if he got it..could be a tough one with our "stick in the mud dressing room" however which has it's similarities to Chelsea's...simply replace Terry, Lampard & Drogba with Dunne, Collins & Warnock & away you go

One name which seems to have dropped off the radar & which i think could do a very decent job here is Owen Coyle actually. I know Bolton got relegated etc but he had them playing much better football than we were & they were unlucky in the end to go..another game or two would surely have seen us replace them!? Just think he has the toughness we need here & his sides always seem to be quite attacking too.

Honestly no matter Owen Coyles skill (and I think he is a decent manager) I cant see us appointing two relegated managers on the trot. There would be a fan revolt. Last thing we need imho.

None of us has any idea what goes on behind the scenes at the club but are basing our opinions on rumours and our own opinions,

At the time how many people thought GED was a bad appointment, I know I thought it was good and believed he could take us further, in fact if it was not for his medical condition he would still be here and i do not believe last season would have been as bad,

He also had and was happy to work with the financial constraints, we have all heard the rumours of players he was going to bring in, I believe these rumours as it would be consistant with the man.

Because of having to pay him off we then had even more constraints on the finances, Yes in hindsight we can all see that hiring the ginger one was a mistake which to be fair they have also stated, but at the time in the position the club was in and the time frame before the season the club had to act fast.

This time they have promised to try something different, yet when they try to take time to get it right we complain of inaction, No one knows who we are looking at and are all guessing,

I do not believe that certain ITK have a clue, they have not approached any premier league managers to our knowlege but we all say we dont want him, him etc.

Give them a chance, back off and see who they pick before slamming them, they have a hard job and moaning and deriding them only shows the club up.

Surely the speculation is because of a lack of communication? It wouldn't be so bad if they pre warned us that it was going to be a silent process that would take nothing less than 2 weeks.

Not keen on RDM, PL or RM would be ok. I say we might as well flip a coin on John Gregory and Paulo Di Canio, **** it!

Media and fan dialogue is without doubt something that Villa are frustratingly lacking. It doesn't do the Villa image any good which is why the club gets constantly lambasted!
