My only concern is that I have never seen us beat a London team at Wembley ...Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal
Always a first time for everything though ....c`mon Villa
-
If he walks away at the end of this season (ie Saturday evening) after captaining us to promotion I will hold him in high esteem for ever - he has been very professional this season (albeit for a fair wedge) - Good luck to him

i have recently used one of these websites where i parked on someones drive in north london for about £12 i think for night and tubed in, worked well
Have done that in the past myself and it works well - however this time I am staying in Hayes and getting the bus into Wembley - I wonder if they will accept my OAP bus pass !!!!

I'd imagine he was on a fair whack in Moscow?
Yep, this seems more unlikely than Belhanda. Would be an excellent signing though and shift a few more season tickets. Was excellent in the last world cup.
Yes he is looking for a "bumper" pay rise
-
I have given up on speculating who we may go for next - I am sure there will be no more coming in just yet- until Bent and Ireland are shifted
-
Christ, wouldn't like to be in the trenches with most of you lot!!!!
I think that Wet Sham, is a big game, win that we continue with forward momentum. They've not won in ages away from home, and we've got goals in the side. There's been an improvement in the teams performance from the 2nd Half of Newcastle, through the Everton game, need to keep that going.
We've still go to play lots of teams that are towards the bottom of the table, I believe that we can still win against, WHU, Norwich, QPR, Reading, Sunderland, Wigan & Fulham, Yes it'll be difficult, and yes we need to improve defensively, but we can do it.
"They've not won in ages away from home"
Thats the bit that worries me - Newcastle hadn`t won away at all
-
We are a team that is crap with an awful manager, nothing to do with luck.
pretty much how I see it right now

I'm no lawer.
No shit.
slicitor ? :drowsy:

VCTM jnr wore his full kit with pride whilst having trials on Thursday - all his scouse mates thought it was "sound" - thumbs up from Merseyside then !!!
-
Its in the blood - handed down through the generations - My grandfather (Alum Rock) - my father (Weoley Castle) - Me (Hall Green, Worcester, Weoley Castle, Bournville, Edgbaston, Rubery, Formby !!!!) - my son and daughter Formby, Merseyside
Villa and proud - my lad wore the kit this week for trials for a new club - he was picked up and the Liverpool/Everton fans all thought it was a boss kit
-
Still very quiet this end.
No change there then is there Wiz? :winkold:
-
Renewed on Tuesday - after two calls from the ticket office. They said they appreciate me travelling down the M6 every other weekend - how could i refuse.
This Lambert fella better be worth it !!!

"Alex, did you know you have got AV coming out of your right ear"
PS like the way the dug out has "Viva AV" written above it
-
We`ve all been conned -it`s a ruse whereby season ticket sales rise significantly, McLeish goes to Corsica for four weeks and then gets a text from Faulkner saying the plan worked and he can come back home now
-
Steve Clarke anyone?
Not sure, strikes me as a good nr 2
That`s just how I see McLeish - a real number two
(childish I know, but it`s off my chest now)
-
I'm surprised no one is wondering what Faulkner is doing away on business through the last game of the season. Interviewing perhaps??
I heard he's in Portugal :winkold:
So is Barry Fry, I am told
-
Welcome on board, Brett.
hope you're ready for a bit of booing first time you play and cahnts of "You don't know what you're doing" if McLeish brings you on as a sub .
Probably best to stay away from the message boards as well.
Surely the first chant he will hear will be.........."There`s only one Brett Holman etc etc" - sometimes the Holte End are quite inventive
-
Now we all know how the Browns fans have felt for the last umpteen years - it would seem that our Randy is not a winner .
-
Liked the one we had with a blue strip across the middle when Collymore signed
My favourite away shirt although not extensively used I don`t think

It is my understanding the club did not take up the option of extra tickets primarily as those left unsold would be a loss to the club.
Spoke with a Sunderland fan last night and the same is happening with them.
It appears that the home club want the total revenue of seats made available irrespective of whether they are sold or not.
Another example of the greedy we times we live in.

I dont really see what all the fuss is about. I certainly do not see why this is making us look like a laughing stock as some suggest?
We put a bid in, it got rejected, i'm sure we will go back with another one.
That's far too rational. You're obviously not a Villa fan, if you can be that clam about it?!
He's right though.. Villa need to start flexing their mussels in the transfer market. We're absolutely crab at transfers!
Whale see some movement soon and I am sure eel move to us (its the right plaice after all) unless there is anymore shark practice from Whelan, he will get his skates on and sign for the Villa, unless The Shrimpers are interested.

I'm about to move to Lancashire... someone please tell me I won't be alone up there.
I'll be in Lancashire also. 8)
In Formby (Merseyside - formerly Lancashire) there is me and Bicks for starters !! - also both my chemist and dentist have Villa supporting wives........... Formby is ours - go forth and multiply Liverpool and Everton , Formby is ours
(Oh I forgot the lad opposite my son`s school)

I wouldn't want the 4 or 5 to either clear off or go belly up, myself. I like the notion that the field could be levelled, though, to an extent, to make the league more open, rather than them just clearing off or disappearing. That's to me, not what Sport should be about.Personally I would love to see - "the so called big four or five" go "tits up" or clear off to compete in a European or World super league , leaving us mere mortals to compete in a "new first division".There must come a point when the ridiculous wages get capped - the greedy players and agents are currently haemorrhaging the game .
I hope, perhaps forlornly, that the UEFA Fair Play thing might tilt the balance back a bit, but I'm not sure they'll enforce it and suspect it might end up being not so much a net to catch the "financial dopers" as just full of holes.
As for wages and that - it's the owners that need to get a grip. No one else can do it.
Fair comment - with regard to the money, some of the owners are so cash rich its all like a game of monopoly to them. It will be interesting to see who will be the first "big club" to go under.

N'Zogbia.. I hope this is wrapped up soon. He'd be an excellent signing. I don't get the negativity towards Whelan.. when we asked to speak to Martinez he was very positive about the way we did business and said we'd done everything discretely and properly. He's probably saying these things to keep Wigan fans happy because by all accounts they didn't react too well when he came out and said they 'need to sell N'Zogbia' and that there was no chance of keeping him.
Not at a reputed pay demand of £90k per week - the obscene money these people are on is what is driving me away from the game I love.
The old "its a short career" nonsense doesn`t apply anymore.
