  1. this is exactly the reason i am slowly falling out of love with football, unfortunatley this will continue to happen every season. all we need now is gardner to have a good season and bent to score 20 plus goals and you can then wave goodbye to them pair.

seriously thinking of taking up golf this summer.

  2. imo his heart is not in it, i wish he would piss off now.

what have we to look forward to in the summer? again our best two players leaving (young and downing), and signings like bradley because we can't afford the wages of top players.

i don't remember feeling this low as a villa supporter even when DOL was in charge.

  3. i only hope he stops with us over the next couple of years, because i really think he is going to be a top player in a few years time, yes he is lightweight but as long as we surround him with a bit of steel i don't see a problem.

i think he would best be suited to a five man midfield, where he could have a free role to pick passes and unlock defences.

alot will depend on who the manager is, i think GH will trust him and give him a chance where as someone like sam allardyce will not give him the time of day due to his size ( just like MON didn't give him a chance).

  4. barry bannan is what i call a proper football, he is never going to out jump a player or win a 50/50 tackle but he has got good technical ability and a great footballing brain, he reminds me of a cross between gordon cowans and ray houghton.

he needs a tackler next to him in midfield and i think that should be nrc, or even a midfield three of bannan, nrc and makoun.

  5. smetrov, i take it your not a villa fan, but instead some rival supporter trying to get a response to your negative outburst, because even the most thick villa supporter can see that this season this is going to be a up and down season with regards to performences and results.

  6. i would give someone like nigel clough a go, you could even give him a one year contract and see how he does this season.

lets be honest who ever comes in will have hardly any time to sign new players, so we actualy need a manager who is good on the training pitch and can hopefully get more more out of some mon's flop signings (davies, nrc and sidwell).

  7. if the truth be told you can't blame milner for wanting a move, with the size of our current squad and the lack of money avaliable for mon to spend, we don't look like finishing in the top six, never mind top four.

people need to get real and realize that we wont be buying the likes of defoe, huntelaar and sneijder, but we will probably end up with keane, parker and mcgeady.

  8. imo this is the worst kit since the 1996 strip. looks cheap and nasty, it looks like some 10 year old has designed it.

on a plus note it has saved me wasting £80 on two tops this season.

  9. to be honest it was all a bit of a rush, and i don't think it would have gone down to well with the missus if i would have started chatting footy 5 mins after the birth of my child, still it was weird seeing him there as these pro footballers normally go private don't they.

  10. best day of my life today, wife gives birth to our baby daughter (jessica), then as we make our way from the delivery ward to the maternity ward, james collins comes around the corner with his new born baby and wife.

the only thing that puzzled me was that if i was on £20,000 a week i would choose to go private rather than go to heartlands hostpital.

  11. i think martin jol would be an ideal replacement, he knows the prem league quite well and a big plus for me is he gets his sides playing atractive football, if we want to break into the top four in the next couple of years we need to stop playing this hoof football and get a manager in who has some tactical knowledge of how to play the game.

i now think it is time for a change, mon has had more than enough time and money to break that top four, i also feel that the club is going very stale and that the feel good factor is no longer there at the club. you wouldn't believe that we have a trip to wembley in 2 weeks time to look forward to.

  12. we are not good enough to play champions league football yet, so for me winning the fa cup and finishing around 6th or 7th would be a great season.

is it true that who ever gets fourth place will still have to play a qualifier pre season to get to the league stages of the champions league?
