I'm renewing because of the obvious reasons. We are playing the best football we've played in decades and competing at the top again. It's also a great social commitment for me and my son.

But this is the least enthused I've been in the process/set up of renewing.

I really don't like this ripping out seats, to repurpose, creating more additional expensive seats.

But I suppose as per my top point, they've got us to a large extent haven't they, and there's masses more to step in if not.

100% where I am - although replace son with friend, I have been an ST holder for over 20 years now, and I can just about afford it (although monthly not in one go)

I should be chomping at the bit after last season, but I'm not sure, I sit upper Doug block 2 and as pathetic as it sounds that Terrace View thing they put in the holte still gripes at me, its like ripping the soul slowly out of the club (dramatic I know) telling people that have built small communities in their sections over many years time to move so we can stick some overpriced bar access and class your seat as hospitality.

I guess its the price of success, or even football in general (wife tells me its nearly £30 to rock up and watch Walsall on a matchday, its nearly £20 to watch Tamworth).

Every man / woman has their tipping point, I do wonder how long it is before many turn round and say enough is enough.  If I did stop I can never see a time where I would be happy to part with £62 (as of last season) to watch a category A game in my block.

I have seen "T" on Twitter a fair few times and he is a right know it all, to be honest. Wouldn't take any notice.

Yes loves a "heard something about someone and it isn't good" kind of tweet with numerous "whats going on mate" sort of replies.

  4. The stereotypical fan can be defined by this clown, who after having the first few minutes attempting to mock us, carries on to recite articles in the trusted publication, the evening mail.

    Youtube

He can't have a season ticket though due to work and personal commitments (works the nightshift at the Jag by any chance)?

As they say if you want to know the Villa score, ask a nose.

I think the missed penalty has decided the tie to be honest.

If we play like we did last night in the second leg we have no chance, we were predictable, slow, poor at passing and decision making, no urgency and worse of all no movement the ball pulling opposition players out of position...

What is it with us when we surround their penalty area attacking them, then either look for a way to walk the ball into the net or ending up retreating and passing the ball back to our keeper? It drives me insane!!! If you take a shot at goal it could get deflected - like their goal. Why are we so afraid to shoot sometimes?

The slow walking pace from defence through midfield and then into attack just gives the opposition time to reset their defence.

Olympiacos wanted it more than us last night.

To be fair the result cannot be blamed on one or two players, all of them were poor.

However in context hopefully the person who collasped last night in L2 recovers and all thanks to the prompt medical attention. MOTM award goes to that person who apparently carried out CPR

First line is how I feel, that penalty and its such a different game, that OTT run up ffs

Although after watching what unfolded at half time, puts it all into perspective, I hope the gentleman is OK as that was utterly vile to witness, stewards, ambulance crew, the lady performing CPR, first class.

Thought I'd go and have a gander at the SHA forum to see if it was really as stupid as is being reported here. I've just seen quite possibly the worst football related post ever.

It's not funny, it's not clever, it's far beyond stupid. I really hope this shambles of a fan base get the result they deserve on Saturday. Nobody has called it out either. Unbelievable. Why are they so full of hate?

I'm more surprised that the moderators would allow that to remain - I've witnessed it many times first hand to be surprised by the actual post.

One of the biggest games in recent history and they can’t get the website to **** work

Keep checking over the next few days as ones will pop up here and there, also the day before I believe the UEFA ones held back for delegates if unused get released, good luck

Based on that small clip. I'm siding with JT there.

I know he is getting palters online, but I thought he came across OK, and if you are a new manager and the first impression is to stick him Lampard and Drogba in economy, it doesn't bode well

He spoke alot about how brilliant Jose was especially as a man manager, and how at the one tournament with England we had a deal with M&S and had to wear suits in the sweltering heat on a bus with broken air con, then to arrive and the Germany team all have shorts and T shirts on, he said that would of never happened under Jose, like the flight incident above

But as with any clip, without context anyone can swing it, he also said even the youth team were uncomfortable with it and said they would swap

Also mentioned that he had the chance to leave us earlier on but wanted to carry on and earn his experience under Smith (who he seemed fond of), and that in the end he left us due to a personal issue that only Smith and one other knew about but he would not disclose, not because of the original reason given, fair enough.

Went to put one in my basket for fun at 2pm and appears to be sold out.

Thanks mate, had an awful time with my mental health recently, won't get into it too much here, but I ended up in hospital last week. To be honest I was close to tears after the game, the bond a man can have with his football team is unexplainable sometimes. I am proud to be a Villa supporter and it is a genuine honour that I get to support this club for the rest of my life.

Hang on in there mate, the best times are yet to come

  11. Disappointing, didn't expect much and when I heard outside the ground Martinez was out, what little hope I had vanished, however to his credit I thought Olsen was fine.

Cant help but thinking "What if" if Zanelo doesn't turn his back, probably would of lost, but maybe not 4-1.

Hard to be angry with the season we are having, but how many soft goals do we give away either side of half time, so disappointing.

What's the deal with Luiz?  1 more booking and he is banned?  How many games does he need to get past before dodging the potential ban?

Into the play offs after tonight's latest win.

Must be the first time in donkeys years?

Amusing that they were calling for the managers head only a few games ago

  13. Sit in P2, but for many years sat in P5 and it was always littered with them, I'm a sado that I like to monitor home ticket sales and how quickly they go, Arsenal, Liverpool, United, not so much Chelsea literally fly and a few at most make it to booking history only

All the other teams, including Man City plenty make it to booking history only with plenty of availability in Upper Doug & Trinity

I would like to think its a case of many of our own fancying it, but like others have said its blatantly other fans buying up tickets. Over the years with how relaxed it is in the Upper Doug, even when fans make themselves known most just turn a blind eye, the one year I mentioned to a steward about a United fan celebrating a goal he had a word and came back and said the fan in question was showing his frustration they had conceded.  I guess (understandably) for what stewards get paid they don't want the agro, but it is frustrating.

I don't know how you stop it though, I read a post the other week that 2 United fans had paid 3K each to be in the away end at Newport, if people are willing to part with that sort of cash £68 in the middle of the Doug and what a £40 membership isn't going to deter
