The thing is I don't rate either Herd or Cueller at rightback so I think we're stuck with Hutton till at least the end of the season. I can't remember a Villa team with poorer fullbacks than we have now. Lerner really has got a lot to answer for with his cutbacks.
-
You say that but then in another thread you say you want SHA to be successful. :?If you go to Newcastle, everyone supports Newcastle. It should be like that in Birmingham (with Villa obviously.)
It's blatantly obvious he's a Bluenose.

Very good idea but don't really see the point in going to a school in Sutton Coldfield where we already have a strong fanbase.
The headteacher alluded to this
We have a lot of Villa fans here at Boldmere Primary School and we may have a few more soon with this great scheme. What we need to do is target inner-city Birmingham where there is a high ethnic minority population - areas like Aston, Handsworth, Lozells, Nechells, Small Heath, Hockley, Winson Green, Sparkbrook, Ward End, Ladywood, Saltley etc.
These are the areas where we lose support to Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal.
You don't honestly think we're going to target the same school in Boldmere every week do you?

Average player at best id take anything over 2 mill for him
Really sounds like he's a perfect fit for us since we are an average club at best.
And we'll always stay average while we have the likes of Bannan at the club. He just isn't good enough.
-
Hopefully Grayson will give him games in his proper position/role as a box to box/playmaking CM'er unlike the clearing in the woods that we currently have managing us who wanted to convert him to a DCM because he couldn't balance his squad properly in the summer.
I really feel for Delph and I can see why he would want to get away from Villa and, more significantly, McLeish.
Delph has been shite from day one at the Villa. You can't blame McLeish for this one.

Nostalgic connection with Eammon D'Eacy I think, God rest his soul
He's not dead is he?

I think the Mail has been aware of the story for a while now.
-
Yep, the mail have been skulking around on here
I read it on H&V's message board on Saturday, and the rumour's been going for a while anyway.
-
Never been impressed with Bannan, and I think at best he's a Championship player. It's just a matter of time before he finds himself there.

Macron offered more than Puma, that's why we went with them.
-
One poor day at the office and out they come.
One? You could probably count on one hand the decent performances from Albrighton in the last 12 months.
-
Drummer, it was widely reported at the time, MON had effectively done the deal then the rug was pulled
It was a rumour, no more.
And anyway, who's to say he wouldn't have been a success?
Under O'Neill we were a top six club. And that IS a fact.
-
And what concrete facts do you have that prove he went for McGeady and offered him 65k a week?
None as usual I suspect.
Spot on. The only facts we do know is that under O'Neill we were a club going places, and without him we've become a club going nowhere, fast.

Makron is a kit supplier to small time lower league clubs. From Nike to this?? All the good work from Lerner in his first few years is being frittered away. So much for his 'Proud History, Bright Future' boast. What a load of bollocks.

Nobody knows. I asked the mods on here, they don't know. I emailed the General to wish him happy Christmas and I asked him a few questions, I had no reply. I emailed PF and RL the same, I also asked about GK, I had no reply. Strange because I had replies to other questions off GK and PF last year.Wheres the General? Anyone heard anything from him in the past few months? I wonder if he still stands by his prediction of 4th being the highest we could achieve this season and 9th being the very lowest? Then theres the classic imagine what Eck could do if backed quote. Mugged off.I'm guessing that the General is bowing out of his mouthpiece role for good. He's been M.I.A. for months anyway...and what else does he offer? He's not giving the team Marine-style pep talks at halftime...
He's quit as a Villa director. His profile on his official twitter acount says he's a former Villa director.

I was saying to someone last night how Randy needs to sell up and my mate out of the blue got all serious and said to lay off Randy. He was so serious and refused to spill beans but knew nothing of any sale when I started to dig for info. I was actually pretty shocked how serious he got but he refused point blank to say anything else. :?
What a bizzare post. Who is your mate, Randy Lerner in disguise?
-
I thought Cueller was dreadful for the second goal. He's horrible at right back. Always has been.
-
-
And since when was Solihull part of Birmingham?
-
Paul Gascoigne for me. Good player on his day, but never as good as people try and make out now. That prick Piers Morgan even compared him to Pele and Maradonna in an interview with Gascoigne the other week, and Gazza replied, "there's things I could do that Pele and Maradonna couldn't and vice versa". Yeah right mate. You weren't fit lace their boots. Talk about trying to re write history....

I see Hong Kong Phooey is being sued for the non payment of a loan, this on top of his problems with the taxman. Oh and Small Heath have had their overdraft cancelled. Administration just around the corner?
-
Yep, eck has a perfect excuse now
What a classy comment. Dear oh dear.

Ellis wouldn't have sold our 4 best players in the space of a couple of years like Lerner did.
I think getting the Champions of Europe relegated within five years was worse. Oh, and I think if you look over the transfers then you'll find similar clear outs happened under Ellis.
When we sold the equivalent players back then, eg Platt and Yorke, the profits were at least reinvested in the team, eg on players like Saunders and Dublin.
Spot on. Yes, Ellis did sell some of our best players but he always reinvested some if not all the cash he received. Unlike dear Randy, who seems to have run off with tens of millions of pounds.
Ellis would have been hung drawn and quartered if he had pulled the same stunt.
-
He's not quite on Doug's level yet. But if he carried on in the same manner for another 20 years, then I'd imagine they pair of them would be held in the same regard.
Exactly!
Ellis had over thirty years at the club and, amongst other things, managed to take a club who'd been Champions of Europe into the old second division within a space of just a few years.
Under Randy we had four good years and a season of turmoil (in which we still managed to finish ninth). Things aren't going that great at the moment, but who knows what the rest of the season will bring.
There's problems at the club, sure, but let's give Randy a few years to fix it before these petty comparisons to Doug Ellis, or calls to sell up and **** off, start!
Ellis wouldn't have sold our 4 best players in the space of a couple of years like Lerner did.

Clark was awful last night and was nearly as bad at Arsenal on Sunday. Bannan is a Championship player.
I wish we wouldn't over hype our young players.
