  1. In my very humble opinion the only players that I would say would be regular first teamers if we were to move on to the 'next level' are

    Sorensen

    Bouma

    Barry

    Carew

We have a lot of 'squad players' already and many with 'potential' but if the moaners want a hasty move to 'the next level' they are going to have to accept that their favourite players are on the way out..... Mellberg, JPA, McCann to name just 4.

Ther usual way of assessing the quality is how many would get into Man Utd, Chelsea, Arse, Liverpool starting 11's?

I can't disagree with this, I think this may have been what MON was alluding to with the article about moving players out.

Mellberg and McCann could well be squad players nxt season.

  2. I think alot of you are quick to right off mcshane, he's very much a RB these days and has more experience than our current RB. He's rough and tough and would pretty much die for his team, i'm not saying that he'd be the making of our team but he'd certainly help and would be a very useful determind defensive player.

I've seen alot of him lately due to villa not playing very often (and having albion mates who go quite alot) and he's been fantastic for them.

He's not jst another Championship player, he's got real quality about him.

  3. West Brom's McShane in Villa sights

    tribalfooball.com - March 28, 2007

West Brom defender Paul McShane has caught the eye of Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill.

McShane only moved to the Hawthorns last summer from Manchester United and was watched by O'Neill in action for the Republic of Ireland on Saturday against Wales.

It's only tribal football, but i wouldn't mind this lad at all. He's got that "United" steel about him. and can play abit too.

  4. You've got a point there Jez, it also results in players coming in and not playing out of there skin because they know that the return of 'insert big name player' will see them out of the side again.

  5. The only thing enjoyable about tonites England game was seeing Dave Nugent nick a goal from that Yardie Scumbag Defoe.

Yardie eh? Great posting as always (sorry mate but I don't agree with your post again seeing as you can't give proof but on personal opinion)

Do i need to put IMO on every post for all the dullards?

If i was in the pub, and i passed comment that Defoe was a yardie scumbag, Would you stop me and ask if i had any proof to such a thing?

  6. erm. WTF?

Steve McClaren has once again failed to drop the underperforming Frank Lampard, with Owen Hargreaves missing out instead against Andorra.

McClaren has opted to not only stick with Lampard but to reunite him with Steven Gerrard in the middle of midfield in the hope that they will finally gel against the minnows.

Hargreaves will drop to the bench despite being one of England's half-decent performers against Israel on Saturday night, just six weeks after McClaren described him as "indispensable".

Coming in for Hargreaves will be Stewart Downing, with Aaron Lennon switching to his more natural right side.

There will also be changes at full-back, with Ashley Cole and Micah Richards coming in for Jamie Carragher and Phil Neville, while Jermain Defoe is expected to replace Andy Johnson as strike partner for the misfiring Wayne Rooney.
