  1. Yeah when there are enough results I'll do something with them.

As I said before this is neither a witch hunt nor a weapon for "i told you so". If people don't want to explain why they voted him out, then that's fine. As I've said in the other 2 polls, nobody needs to reply whether they vote for yes or no.

  2. Quick one, no discussion needed. Based on current feelings only, should he stay or go?

This is a continuation from the previous similar poll, so don't take this personally and don't assume I want DOL out. In theory, this thread needn't get any replies... :)

  3. I have explained. But I'll explain again.

I want to track the trend of whether or not people think DOL should stay or go. Nobody needs to explain themselves, nobody needs to own up to what they voted for, any nobody needs to even post a reply. I can't see who's voted for what, so I've got no ammo to get sarcastic with anyone or pick anyone out who changes their mind.

It's just a simple way of monitoring support for DOL.

  4. After an idea in today's chat room, I want you to answer this. Don't need reasons, don't need anything except a yes or no. If you want to discuss it, fine, but this is just to get a measure of numbers...

Oh and I'm not taking the piss, nor am I suggesting he should or shouldn't go. Just trying something out!

  5. Im quickly becoming converted!

Standard IE6 vs Standard Firefox is a (narrow) winner for IE every time, if you ask me.

But once you start playing with some of the add ons you get with Firefox, then IE just gets left behind.

I might have to retract my vote for IE.

I'd say even the basic Firefox outguns IE, but still, at least you're starting to see the light... :D

  6. i still think IE is faster.

it certainly is on my PC.

These firexox plugins seem interesting though. How do you install them?

Again, have you applied the changed from the sticky?

Plugins are easy t install, go to the web site hosting them, click the install link and Firefox will download and install them itself. Restart Firefox and they're there to use.

  7. The phrase "don't get me started" has jumped into my head so I might stay muted for a while on this. But all I'd say is, if you haven't tried Firefox properly, get it, do the speed boost thing in the sticky thread, start using the tabbed browsing (especially the middle-click to open in a new tab feature) then give an informed opinion. People are scared of change, which is why IE users will assume Firefox isn't as good as IE before even using it.

This isn't aimed at anyone specific by the way, so don't take it personally any of you.

  8. not met anyone...but then again I could have walked passed any of you down at a match or in the Holte Suite

Now if only there was an easy way to identify other VillaTalkers. Perhaps some kind of clothing...

That's a great idea Simon. Say, did you know about the VillaTalk Village? It's a great online shop where you can buy shorts, mugs, mouse mats and other VillaTalk related items.

Not only are they well made and the height of fashion, it would help in this sort of situation and help you recognise other VT members.

You should go and have a look, the address is http://www.cafepress.com/VillaTalk and I'd encourage others to take a peek too.

And incidetally, I met one guy off here at the Palace game, he came and said hello on the lower Holte. Can't remember who that was though... :?

  9. I'm a programmer as well, web stuff mainly but done a lot of VB.Net lately.

I went for the bottom option.

    I'm leaving next friday. :D

6 weeks off then to Warwick Uni to do a Secondary PGCE. At least I won't be sat behind a desk 8 hours a day...

  10. Not only that, hadn't Ferrari fallen behind quite a bit when he joined them? It was his dedication to testing and improving the car away from race-day that made the car so good which allowed him to win so much. From everything I've heard he puts in far more effort than most other drivers when it comes to testing and suchlike...
