Get yourself a PC one, and I'm in.
Want to be my test subject? PC release dates aren't easy to source in a useful format, but try this...
-
I'll look into the possibilities of that, you're not the first person to ask...

I quite liked it. It's not your average game that's for sure, and if you're all about action then you might want to run away, but it's got its charms...

Hi folks, a bit of a cheeky plug but I reckon you guys might find it pretty useful. In case you're not aware I own a gaming site, not a massive name, but it's there. We've got a release calendar, but not just any boring standard release calendar... this bad boy lets you add it to your mobile or PC and keeps itself up to date for you. So if you have an iPhone your calendar app will always have up to date release dates without you needing to update it or anything.
Pretty cool eh? AFAIK we're the only site to have it - at least I hope so, I programmed it myself so it'd better be unique.
It used to be just PS3 and 360, but now also covers PS4 and the XBone.
Well anyway, it's over here if you fancy a butchers. Hopefully some of you will find it useful

Funnily enough the only reason it's still on iOS 5 is because I use XBMC a lot which is only available on jailbroken things. If Apple were less strict on letting folk use their devices as they wanted to it wouldn't be a problem to update...

Working nicely on the iPhone 4. Can't try it on the iPad though 'cause I'm still on iOS 5.

iPhone 4 and iPad sent over PM

I've had a copy through to review which is a bit frightning, never played an MMO and only ever played Final Fantasy VII - I've got a steep learning curve ahead. I also don't get any special treatment for being press, so I have the 30 day free access to do the review otherwise I'm paying for it. Eek!

Only just seen this, I'll help out if it's still something you need, can provide an UDID for an iPhone and iPad if it helps.

Apologies to those I haven't got back to yet, I'm grateful for all this interest and I'll be sure to get back to you ASAP
-
To clarify I'm not after qualifications, experience or bizarre acronyms. Just the ability to write good stuff.
If any of you guys genuinely fancy helping drop me a PM - the contributions I need are in the original post, so let me know what you're interested in and I'll see what fits where

I don't care if it's 4am on Christmas morning, don't they know who I am?

Have you tried pimping your blog on gaming forums? I have an account on rllmuk which is probably the biggest UK based gaming forum, seems like the sort of thing that would go down well there, though you might want to be a semi active member of the community before going in with the hard sell.
They don't rush to validate your account do they?

Well there's reading involved... All that is in the original post.

Thanks for that, it definitely looks pretty busy, I'll sign up and elbow my way in a bit. If nothing else it could get a few more people headed to the site...

I thought I still had him (so to speak), not sure where Dizzy came from..!
I've always been lingering, I just don't have the time to keep up with this place at the moment, it's far busier than it was when I was around more!

Oh yeah, and even if you're not up for writing, if you like the look of the site think about subscribing to the weekly newsletter - it launched today

Hi folks,
For those that don't know I run a gaming site called The Gaming Review (http://www.thegamingreview.com) - it's been online since 2010 and get pretty decent visitor numbers considering it's really mainly me doing all the driving. I'd like to start covering a bit more, but with a 10 month old boy and a teaching job it's getting tough to find the time.
So here's the thing.
I'm looking for some new writers, people willing to put in a little time to contribute things to the site. There are several things I'm after, but it's not an exhaustive list:
- Previews of upcoming games
- Video capture of pre-release demos, games at launch and suchlike
- Opinion pieces about games, genres, arguments, current game news or whatever else takes your fancy
- Weekly roundups of news on various platforms
- More PC and Nintendo coverage
You'll see from the reviews that I'm hooked up with most major developers, as well as a lot of indie guys too. In ther long term and after a bit of other work I'd be looking at passing off some of the reviews to newbies too - in such cases I'd provide the game and wouldn't expect it back, but obviously that's a little way down the line.
If you're interested I ask for two things: a reasonable grasp of the English language (you'll see all of the reviews are pretty well written, I'm a bitch for grammar and structure unless I'm too knackered to care), and the willingness to contribute every week or two.
I recognise the short term rewards are limited to seeing your name up in lights and your writing on the site, but ideally that would be enough for any of you who love your gaming enough to sign up.
If you're interested either PM me on here or send me an email through the site itself. It'd be great to hear from any of you who might be able to help out
Thanks muchly,
Iain
and before you ask, I got permission to beg before I posted this...

Speaking of great goals, I've done my old trick and uploaded the Stoke goals in a handy HD who-cares-about-the-Stoke-chances kinda way. It's hidden away on YouTube if you fancy it.

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, 50 pages is a lot to dig through.
The computer has been using some drilled lofted passes, half the length of the pitch but quite hard. It's not a standard looped long ball but it's not a normal pass either.
Anyone know how that's done? They're insanely accurate with the right players...

Hmm.
I got fired from Villa after 12 games. It doesn't help I only won 2 of them. Had a blinder of a pre-season, blew everyone out of the water, then it all went a bit wrong.
Got a job with Oxford a couple of months later which is going slightly better, although the pressures are far less intense...

That's definitely a PAL/NTSC issue, they have different refresh rates so hook it up to the wrong type of TV and you get that result.
It looks like quite an old TV? Modern TVs can handle both modes I think. What cable are you using at the moment? Have you tried it on an HD TV through HDMI?

It's worth playing just for the different ammo you can come up with.
Mind control crossbow darts anyone?

I wonder if we will have another 'hot' new female character in the game lol. We've had Chloe and Elena. I hope we see some more of Sully. The guy made me laugh lol.
You will...
Put a few hours into this today, it's incredible. There are so many nice little touches and new animations that just make what was brilliant even better...

Heh, that's my livery. Figured I'd make my first post since about 1962 to say hello.
