  1. do you not like having a bigger stadium then and a bigger stand?

one thats moved with the times

one thats more futuristic and looks brilliant from the inside, and from on the motorway, when driving past

one thats put our stadium up into a different category of higher quality stadiums?

a little bit of reconstructuring and our new stand can look brilliant and suit everyones tastes the people who like the history side and people who want bigger and better stadiums like the big clubs

lets see the Mods delete another one of my posts from in here again

Its bigger by about 2500, big deal. They couldve rebuilt the north and got the capacity up to over 45,000 easily anyway.

The whole rebuilding of that stand was handled terribly. The front crest facing the pitch should have been preserved as should the gable. (OR AT LEAST BEEN PRESEVED SOMEWHERE ON THE VILLA PARK SITE!)Its not a particularly attractive stand and i hate the way the corners cut in. Yes they did this in the old trinity but in a lot more of a stylish way.

Our ground was iconic with the old trinity, pillars and warts an all.

  2. Merry Christmas to you and your family and Randy and Randy's family.

in 1992/93 http://www.soccerbase.com/league2.sd?teamid=154 We were runners up in Premier League with Manchester United and

in 1994 League Cup Final We outplay Manchester United in Wembley to win the cup.

and look how far behind them these days. We could not cope with top 4 team these days ie Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool.

What the club are going to do to enable us to catch up and be competitive and beat them sometimes. We need to be warriors not toothless lions.

Also have you read Simon Inglis's Villa Park 100 years. Which is interesting history about Villa Park.

Do you have a role at Cleveland Browns ?

It was stated in the daily mirror (around august) that Randy purchased dozens of copies of the simon inglis book for his staff!

  3. General, I'm praying the fans and players put on a display that will show you & Randy just why Aston Villa are such a special club.

We have Glory spanning 100 years:

    Double Winners - 1896-1897

    Champions of Europe: 1982

In the 1920s the famous Arsenal forward Ted Drake remarked:

"The trouble with travelling abroad with the England side is that all that anybody ever wants to talk about is Aston Villa."

Long Live Aston Villa F.C. - Let the Glory Days roll along again!

The Bells are ringing for the Claret & Blue!

  4. Given time you will get your wish with no.4! Im sure you will see an upsurge in half season tickets before the deadline but with so many false dawns at the club some folk take slightly longer to be convinced.

General, you were one step ahead of me when I requested that we invite Ron Saunders back to the club, so I now have to think of another guest that you could have at VP. HRH Prince William is a Villa fan and while I have seen his brother at Arsenal I can't remember him attending a game at VP, even though his dad opened the Trinity. Surely this is something that would seperate us from the crowd annd give us the royal seal of approval.

I'll second that, have always thought HRH needs to get himself down the ground!

Claret is a very regal colour!

  5. General Krulak here:

    1. Both Randy and I will be at ManU game.

    2. That story re. "walking away" is not accurate. Randy is a businessman...so is Doug Ellis. They put their cards on the table...looked at them....stepped away to think about what they were holding...came back and played the cards. There was no rancor and anger...just two businessmen conducting a transaction that required a good deal of thought.

    3. Randy ABSOLUTELY was aware that Aston Villa fans were sending letters and e-mails....and he was most appreciative. He is a man with little ego...he does not seek publicity but believes that actions speak louder than words. The actions of the Villa Fans spoke loudly!!

Glad you and Randy will be joining us for Man Utd. I have a feeling we are all going to enjoy it!!

    Seasons greetings.

    C'mon you lions.

The Glory Of The Villa Lives On!

  6. Just listened to Spizz for the first time. It's got potential, not polished enough in my view, but re-recorded it will be great. Theme from an unknown silent movie after half time though

Agree with you on that mate, definitely needs re-recording - could be the one. Also think guitars don't work too well for an anthem, wouldn't mind it going a bit more electro pop if possible.

  7. I have gone for Ride of the Valkyries-tenuous Brummie link. Wasn't this the tune that use to back Cozy Powell's live drum solos? (Cozy's dad used to live in Sutton)

I still quite like the idea of Sabbath/Ozzy, but would think that Mr. Crowley would be a rousing intro.

Hurricane Smith should also feature in the playlist as it relates to our most glorious era.

The present practise of playing the intro music again as they run out for the second half should be stopped.

And please none of this plastic new stadium-music when we've scored crap that is so common at Bolton, Middlesbrough and Blackburn

Yeah numpty clubs play music when theyve scored! The Mighty Villa are above this nonsense.

  8. Is it just me or does the inside top corners of the trinity road look awful. Almost like a botched job with two bits of steel bolted onto each other. Great if this could be sorted or at least covered up, its horrible. I'm talking about in the corner of the top tier. Can you sort this please general?

Oh and yeah the outside is crap too! I want my old trinity back

The New North Stand needs to be something special also, to really put us on the map.

Great that you are posting here General.

    God bless and happy xmas

    GG
