    Punctuation young man!

  2. Collymore on talksport has just rubbished this signing as a sign of desperation, and that we should be looking at getting someone in cheaper on a short term basis and also bring in another CB rather than putting all our eggs in one basket. This coming from a man that we paid over the odds for and never filled his potential. Jog on Stanley.

    I completely agree with him.

Theres no pleasing some people is there??

  3. I can't believe this. Please say this is a joke. !8m for Bent that's ludicrous he is abysmal. I don't think I've ever whatched a game he's played in when I haven't heard the phrase. oh dear Bent probably should have done better there at least 2 or 3 times.

He is a joke for that price. this is a disgrace and if it goes through that's it as far as I'm concerned for Houlier. He'll have blown our entire budget on a waste of space. Please Randy think very caraefully about this. he is not worth blowing that much cash. try the likes of Elmander or Jones. jees anything but this.

Anyone who rates this guy at that price should be locked up.

Get a life!! 1 goal less than drogba and rooney since 2005!! 82 each followed by bent with 81. But theres always something to moan about aint there?

  4. General

When looking to book match tickets on avfc website ticket page, to check ticket availability individual blocks in each stand can be checked but there are no individual seating plans for each block. It would be helpful and advantageous to view seating plans to see which specific seats are available (like they are in theaters, arenas etc), especially as my wife is disabled.

Why are actual seating plans not availlable to view ??

Please could it be possible to have all the seating plans be put on to view for booking tickets ?? (to help me understand : if not why not ?)

Much appreciated if you can enlighten me on this.

    Thank you Sir

I was just about to make the same observation.I wish to bring an u16 to a match and want them near my season ticket seat, online we cant ensure that.

So my next thought was a half season ticket but due to the fact i sit in the doug ellis upper there is no half price available for under 16s...why? Its empty around me most of the time so why is it adult prices only????

    thank you general

  5. FFS !!! I'm sick of all this shite!! Too many people here are believing what is being written in the daily rags and totally disre

garding what was actually said in the press conference.

    You sir are a DISGRACE.

Fancy coming on here and talking common **** sense. What kind of supporter are you?

I don't want to hear from fans who actually listen to whats being said, I want to hear from people who take their Gospel from the tabloids thank you very much.

I bet you're one of these old school fans who go down VP week in week out and support the team good or bad.

    SHAMEFUL!

Yea old school :flag: the left side

  6. The 7th to 12th position thing was NEVER mentioned in the PC! It comes from a french paper and our rags decided to print as if it was said in the PC.

It doesn't matter where he said it, the fact remains he said it. Or do we just ignore things that people say in anything but the British press?

The past 3 seasons we've finished 6th. That is hardly the form of a club that "finds itself between the 7th and 12th positions".

It's a statement that is not based on fact.

I agree we are a top 6 club.

The point i am making is, it wasnt a great thing to say,its in print ,from at least a week ago, not from todays press conference. So why are the press making out he said it today??

  7. FFS !!! I'm sick of all this shite!! Too many people here are believing what is being written in the daily rags and totally disregarding what was actually said in the press conference.

1)The 7th to 12th position thing was NEVER mentioned in the PC! It comes from a french paper and our rags decided to print as if it was said in the PC.

2)He stated that he had commitments on Monday that he had to honour, but would be in the stands for the bolton game "at the very least".The rags interpret this as he wont be in charge till the Wolves game???

3)His aim this year was "european football and silverware" and in his 3 years the top 4

I prefer to hear things from the horses mouth, not believe whats printed by sensationalist lazy journalists!

    onwards and upwards

  8. A club that belongs between 7th and 12th? I hope not, Gerard. I hope not.

No harm in dampening expectations, it's a requirement for any Villa manager. He's taking the piss with that statement though. He's inheriting a club that has finished 6th for three years in a row, that's not between 7th and 12th. We are a club that belongs between 4th and 8th, if you ask me. Anything below that is underachieving with the squad and backing we have.

Being 'objective and honest' is all well and good, but not in your first press conference. I hope the football does the talking in the future.

He never said anything like that in the press conference!!!

  9. Whilst I will withhold judgement on Houllier himself, I do think the bits in the press and that Press conference have conveyed a future that has been dampened down a lot. Houllier seems he's on the same songsheet as the board with their updated plan for the future.

    * We belong 7-12th

    * We need investment

    * Unlikely to be much money

    * We will struggle to compete

    * We'll mostly go for cups

It's not all bad. It's sensible, progressive and sees us try to keep a pace without risking everything.

All good - just not quite the dream we were sold four years ago. Now the plan looks like survival with cups rather than reaching for the stars.

Funny i could have sworn he said the aim in his 3 years is the top four...

or am i joining in with the rest of the misquoters?

  10. Woh there are some seriously embarassing posts in the General's thread right now. Thankfully the mods are sharp enough to delete the crap immediately. I wouldn't be surprised if the General says enough is enough and cuts out this particular line of communication between fans and the board.

Im sure the General has heared worse. He can handle that shit blindfolded. Hes an ex Rubberneck afterall (Marine before i get accused of being rude  )

Marines dont throw in the towell because someone does not agree with you. They tend to stand their ground.

    Fair play to him 8)

Er i think you'll find it's leathernecks?

  11. So no chairs or press conference talk then, I like the counting chairs game.

    Maybe it's time......

There are 4 chairs been put out down the Villa, I guess one is the new manager but 2 must be players.

New chairs as well as the old one's (never used) have been given away.

    :?:

    Im lost

You gotta love them dutchies...he's had a smoke surely 8)

  12. I agree with the poster. What with this summer's world cup and the comings and goings at VP I'm genuinely starting to lose my love of the game.

It was gutting to see Milner and Barry celebrating in blue shirts.

What's most galling about Man City is that they have improved whilst at the same time systematically weakening a Villa team who 2 years ago was probably one of their strongest rivals and were teetering on the edge of genuine progress.

I can't agree the posters comments abount class. The fact Milner and Barry have been poached attests to the class in the team and on his day, Young fits into the same catagory.

I persoanlly don't believe the club would have sold either Barry or Milner to City if the players hadn't forced the issue. It the want-away players that have capped the ambition of the club, not the manager and not the chairman.

Its the want-away players deserting the club that made them a household name who have condemned us to this mediocrity for the next decade.

Last nights celebration was a kick in the guts, not just because of what might have been if those players were still wearing claret and blue, but also because of how easy it is for players whose names we chant in the stands every week to not only move on without a second thought, but to also screw us at the same time!!!

    I feel sick.....

    what he said!!

TV has killed football for the real fan.
