  1. The show you are thinking of I think is The Detectives, a comedy with Jasper Carrot and Robert Powell. Carrot is a Big Bluenose and he wrote the script, hence slagging the Villa. Robert Powell played a Manc, supporting Man Ure. It was a comedy after all.

My story,it's in the genes, Dad supported them,so it was inevitable.

  2. Didn't renew last season. Just didn't enjoy the Houlier season at all. Sell Young and Downing, lose Walker gain Mcleish I knew I wouldn't enjoy the season ahead so after 20 years of having season tickets, didn't go once. Very unlikely to get another for the season ahead unless Randy starts delivering on the vision he sold me.

  3. I think he needs to go, if OGS comes in he needs to completely restructure our whole backroom staff. Bring in coaches who will coach the players on how to play football instead of hoofball and instill a winning mentality throughout the squad top to bottom.

Kmac is a good guy, done well at Villa but in my opinion I would get rid and start again.

    Very much this.

But... OGS HAS NOT TAKEN THE JOB YET.

Doesn't matter if Solskjaer gets the job or someone else does, for me KMAC has to go along with some others at the club and it pains me to say it but that includes sid.

And while you're at it Sid, take the Lion off the crest with you as you leave....

  4. Lambert has done extremely well with limited resources. Prior to this season I would have wanted a higher profile manager capable of attracting good players from around the world. Our horizons have now changed, so maybe a manager who can inspire lesser quality players to achieve beyond their individual capabilities in an effective team structure is all we realistically attract.

  5. Like most on this site I've read my fair share of "the next superstar" threads. Unfortunately for every Barry, Gabby, Cahill we get 10 Moore L and S and the likes. Kids with immense potential but who just don't make it at the very very top. I've not seen Jack, so I've no comment on his talent, but what sets the likes of Gareth Barry, Gabby and Gary Cahill apart is not their talent, but their commitment to the profession. Too many kids think they have made it when awarded their first pro contract and start picking up 8 or 10 grand a week. That's the start not the finish. It's the attitude to the game, the desire to learn and progress that sets the special ones apart. Let's face it Barry, Gabby and Cahill weren't the most technically gifted at 17 years of age, but they had desire. If Jack has the talent I hope his family, friends and agents keep his eyes fixed on the ultimate goal. I wish him every success.

  6. Desperate for a shadow to be cold in. Not a proper club in any way or form. Their hatred is bitter from top to bottom. Went on a corporate trip to the Highfield Rd years ago, the then Coventry chairman, can't remember his name, but he used to be a batsman for warwickshire, came to our table as he knew my host and he was vitriolic against us. We won 2-0 if I recall, sweet.

  7. He has also taken Salifou's squad number (17). Does this mean the bulletproof journalist beating one has been released?

No, Salifou has agreed to give up 17, as it's a Cameroonian tribute to Marc Foe. (sp)

  8. OK I admit it, I'm starting to warm to him. Still wish he'd show more commitment in the challenge, but he is now becoming very effective. However we will not be able to play the personel as Barry'sboots advocates until we get a defence that can stand up to an aeriel bombardment like we received yesterday. We would conceed goals galore from set pieces.

  9. Seen him play a few times and he will eventually end up in the lower divisions. Disappointed that he's been given a new contract. Not good enough.

Think you are totally wrong. He's not flash, but I don't want my fullbacks to be flash. He is solid, quick enough, gets forward when he can and he's learning. He will replace Luke Young within 18 months. I've also seen him a few times and I think he will do OK.

  10. Tickets for Man U will be difficult. You will need a booking history for sure. Best bet drop the General a PM, he will direct you to Nicky Keye in the Ticket Office who should be able to sort you tickets. Get them in the Holte End if you can to sample some atmosphere.

Enjoy. We owe Man U big time.

  11. Not a Catholic, not very pro Catholic either, but as a leader of a major religion I have no problem him coming to the UK. But coming as a Head of State is taking the rip. That results in the UK tax payer having to cough up. Let the Catholics divi up.
