    Class.

Jack Grealish is a player with class, he has that silky touch, the sway, the vision and ability to do things that other players can't. He's also rapidly shaping up to be a young man with class - character, calm determination, the ability to inspire and to lead and to not lose his head when other are. There is much to be proud of for him today.

Our opposition showed a complete lack of anything resembling class, from the idiot running on to throw a punch at a player, the thousands applauding him for it, the steward trying to stamp on a players ankles, a manager and a club statement so desperate to say "individual" and "throw the book at him" but so lacking in taking any kind of responsibility for their own supporters or arrangements, right through to the sad angry youngster posting pictures of a grave. They're a shocking club, with shocking support, that have shamed the name of this city for a long time. It's not an isolated incident, it's not one idiot, it's the culture of the club, their ethos and it's time they were properly punished.

We were second best for large parts of the game, we didn't play at all well, we got it tactically wrong for most of the game and heck, we even rode our luck at the end - but we didn't sacrifice our dignity or our class - we didn't lower ourselves to their level. I hope we never will.

0-1 is not the extent of our victory.

You have summed up the entire situation accurately in one post. I’ve never been so proud to be a villa fan as I am today. Rising above the opposition, their fans and staff. Jack laughing off what was probably a quite shocking incident at the time in his interview was amazing. ‘Best day of his life’ was a great way to answer.

  2. Does Birmingham residing in the bottom 3 cheer anybody up?

Yes but not much, we are so bad it's not funny.

Lambert out ASAP and take Baker with you.

Guess we will hear Lambert butcher the English language again in his post match interview ending with "we go again" arghhhhhhhhhh more like 4-1 again!

I'm going down the pub to avoid anything football after that..

  3. Can't argue with him having to buy cheap- benteke, bacuna, vlarr and okore look very sound buys for peanuts by modern standards.

I'm struggling with how he seems to be unable to motivate or develop players like weimann, Lawton, baker Clark etc. they should really be stepping up to the plate now. Is that lambert and his coaching staff or are they not really up to it? If not they should be moved on. If lambert buys a creative and a combative midfield combo in the window then i will be a lot happier.

If you want to look up the information and check if I'm right, then do so, but I'm certainly not wasting my time.

We aren't good enough in my opinion. If you're happy with things as they I then excellent!

:) I'm not wasting my time either, but you aren't right ;)

If you think I'm happy with things as they are then you really haven't understood what I've said.

This is the only point I'm trying to get across here: Things are crap, but we have by far the best manager we could possibly attract on this tiny budget. We should get behind him, because if he goes I seriously shudder at the many, many possible worse options we might end up with. Just remember what he did for Norwich - he hasn't turned into a bad manager overnight.

I'm also shuddering at who would be next if Lambert went.. Big Sam? I may have lost faith in our ability to play good football but watching our players playing long ball tactics and kicking lumps out of other teams hardly seems better than what we have now. We should give Lambert one more season to see if he can get our young players playing consistently. If not then he has to go. At least he won't have spent much when he does as he always buys cheap...

  5. Why oh Why did we not start with Makoun, Reo, Bradley & young in midfield with Bent & Gabby up front?

Downing is not a midfielder - can't tackle, can't cross can't defend..... We should have won this game - we NEEDED to win this game.

Disgusted with Houllier for not being able to see it & now SHA are above us. Shit Shit Shit.

  6. Google for "sale of goods site:gov.uk" and you'll find it. This is nothing new, you've always had this right. It's why manufacturers use the phrase "does not affect your statutory rights" when talking about their additional warranties.

    That is not quite correct:

Q3. Are all goods supposed to last six (or five) years?

No, that is the limit for bringing a court case in England and Wales (five years from the time of discovery in Scotland's case). An item only needs to last as long as it is reasonable to expect it to, taking into account all the factors. An oil filter would usually not last longer than a year but that would not mean it was unsatisfactory.

Europe have been trying to introduce a law to ensure all electronic products such as tv's should be warantied for 2 years minimum. At the moment, a TV breaking down after 3 uears would be considered reasonable and would not be repaired FOC. Six years only covers a few items in reality.. On the other hand I have worked in the audio visual industry since 1987 and I would never recommend purchasing an extended warranty..

  7. The Sale and Supply of Goods and Services Act gives you a 6 year warranty from the retailer. Unless this extended warranty is free or offers extras like a replacement while yours is repaired, then no.

Where did you get that info from? THe sale of goods act even in its latest revision does not include 6 years as far as I'm aware. You recieve whatever the manufacturer issues but your contact is with the retailer. The product must last a reasonable time, ie if a tv breaks down after 15months you could argue that it be not of merchantable quality/not fit for service. Most decent manufacturers will see sense over this. Panasonic recently a tv for one of my customers foc after 2 and a half years.

  8. Makoun tried to play faster, 2 touch football in my opinion. He always seemed to be looking for the next pass quickly rather than the Petrov/Reo approach.. Looking at his first start with a bit of optimism he shows great promise. He is the type of player we havent had at Villa as far as I can remember. I hope his fitness and feel for the premier league will improve quickly. He could just be the replacement (and more) for Milner.

  9. My missus (who thinks she is a bit of a songwriter on the quiet) is busy re-writing Robbie Williams' 'Feel' at the mo but in the meantime she has penned this little ditty......

(sung to daisy daisy - bloody hell...)

    Villa, Villa,

Up with the claret and blue

    Villa, Villa

Oh how we do love you

You’re in our hearts and minds

We wear our scarves with pride

    And we will score

    When the Lions roar

    It’s Villa for ever more

not quite an anthem but first attemp ;)

  10. I thought Carew sprung in to life for about 20 mins just after half time until he was subbed. Good game anyway which we probably should have won for being more positive. I thought Clark, Walker & Albrighton were immense for us.

Out of the bottom 3 now - gotta be good.
