Surely Norwich Newcastle and Sunderland won't all win tomorrow

    Will they ?

Even if they all do (which is highly unlikely), that means Southampton won't, since they play Sunderland.

Doesn't matter too much for Soton cos then they play Stoke at home which should give them the 3 points they need for safety.

Frankly I think they'll get the three points they need for safety against Sunderland this weekend. That's one reason I said it was highly unlikely the three teams listed above would win. I also think Norwich will only get a draw.

The only reason I haven't bought a Lowton shirt is I'm expecting him to have 2 next season. Might as well wait. I think 5 will go to Vlaar.

My Lowton shirt just came in. Did not even think about that. I hate being stupid.

You're not! You've got his Debut Season shirt! That makes it extra-special. I also didn't want the Genting sponsor. :)

Edit: Also, I thought number 4 tends to go to a central/defensive midfielder, and 5 and 6 are for central defenders. Weirdly out of order.

  4. I'd actually quite like to see him in the MLS. As poor as he's sometimes been for Villa, and inconsistent, I think there's only a few teams here that he couldn't improve (American Soccer has gotten better in the past few years but I'd be kidding myself if I suggested the quality's anywhere near as good as the Prem). MLS is a place where owners can get away with ludicrous statements like "Tal Ben Haim has been one of the top defenders in the Premier League for nearly a decade."

In fact, my local team the Seattle Sounders could probably do with someone like Ireland right now. Their midfield is woeful, and in particular there's no link to their attack. He could do a job there. Maybe a fresh start in a new place would allow him to regain some of his spark and get his form back.

  5. Far too lighthearted mood in here now, folks. Doom and gloom is just one Wigan victory away, I tells ya!!!!

Wigan's next victory will be next season in the Championship.
