But De Laet, Jedinak and Chester (apparently)? That's isn't returning to the Premier League, it's burying yourself in the depths of the Championship.

All three of the players you mentioned (plus Elphick) have recent experience promoting teams from the Championship to the Premier League. Why isn't that "returning to the Premier League"?

  2. I thought he looked solid today. This was the first time watching him that I thought of him as a man rather than a kid. He had one rash, late challenge which he was booked for. Other than that I thought he was very calm and composed.

He's actually about a month younger than me, and while I know these have all been jokes it's been a little bit depressing reading people talking about how ancient he is.

I might have to finally admit I'm not going to make it in my footballing career.

Hell, I am practically old enough to be his mother, so don't worry about it.

I wasn't sure what to make of this signing. Then I learned he doesn't have social media, so now I love him. Get in Ross!

That's because he's 55 years old and granddads don't get Twitter.

  5. I'm sad to see it ending this way with Brad, even though I have been a fairly vocal critic. His saves (combined with Benteke's goals) in Lambert's first season kept us up. Maybe he played out of his skin that season, but he never pushed on from there, and frankly started to go backwards. His first team status was never seriously challenged and I think that led him to become complacent. But the end of it was that screw-up with Aguero; he was never the same after that.

I believe he's still a good keeper if he can find his confidence again, but I don't think he'd find it with us. A change of scenery suits all parties.

Even though I hate Bacuna, he is still a better right back than Hutton is, would love to see a compilation of his personal mistakes this season that have led to goals, there have been too many to count

There are stats on this. According to Squawka, Hutton made two defensive errors this season; both led to goals. Bacuna had three defensive errors, two led to goals and the other led to an attempt on goal.
