  1. Great to see a game is being played after all, annoying that the powers that be mean its behind closed doors. The main thing is that the lads get a run out and a proper match prior to the Watford game. Looking forward to seeing the lads and hopefully we get to see Ings, Watkins and Buendia in the same team 😍

  2. Bournemouth had the opportunity to go 2-0 up earlier and obviously playing the better stuff, ball on the ground. However they are looking weak from corners and imo that is not a foul on the goalie, looks way too soft. One of those ones you want given in your favour as a fan, and hate if the opposition gets it. Still think Bournemouth will go on to win it.

  3. Fancy Bournemouth to make a winning start to their campaign tonight. Not sure about Ismael's tactics, it was an interesting experiment at Barnsley last year and I wanted them or Brentford to get into the premier league personally, as it would have been a different promotion than usual. I do think he will come undone a bit this season.

Does anybody know how long those vouchers from covid season tickets are valid for and how we use them?

I've renewed paying on that payment plan third party thing but still have these vouchers. When you purchase additional tickets can you just select to use the vouchers?

on my email it says they expire 30/09/2021. You can definitely use them to buy matchday tickets, yeah

How do you go about getting away tickets these days, my two lads are now old enough and we are all keen to go away to most games but it looks like a closed shop - any advice greatly appreciated

The best way to do it is to go to games that are far away. The ones I did a few years back to build up the history were Southampton, Newcastle, Sunderland, QPR, Cardiff, Reading, Everton etc. If you can make midweek games then those are usually good ones to target and sometimes go on general sale. Its much easier once you have 2/3 games under your belt as you could get tickets most of the time back then (when we were treading water under lambert).

one year i couldnt afford the season ticket though and lost all that history, so will be building it back up again from this season too. Just keep an eye out and make sure you are online when your category opens up for the games that are geographically far and you will likely have some luck

Needed that. Him feeding Watkins would be immense. Or he could feed Ings. Or Bailey. Hang about - I think we need the season to start.

That is a proper compilation 🔥 so excited to see him in our colours

  7. Level-headed, mature and illuminating take provided by the CEO in his video message. We are genuinely really lucky to have people like him at the top of the club, it genuinely is a huge U-turn from just a few years ago. I do think we will be trying to make a couple of signings yet. Understandably the big boss didn't want to say anything in case we don't pull them off. They will come out of nowhere like the Ings thing.

  8. Been Binge watching Gotham recently, on season 4 out of a total of 5 atm. Pretty good and entertainng series to watch on Netflix with a good cast. Passing the time away until 1 September when I start a grad job. Been told to watch Sons of Anarchy after that.

Fantastic interview with the new signing. Very calm, humble, understated and looking forward to cracking on with things it seems. Really refreshing to see and will be such a calming influence on the youngsters who will no doubt look up to him. If the young strikers in the youth team can achieve even half the success he has done in his career to date, then they will have done very well in the professional game.

dont most of the youth team live in digs and get minibused around?

i'm not sure tbh, would make sense though. I think back in the day if they lived out of the area they were hosted by local families, but quite a lot of these lads are from the midlands and west broms academy. However many of them are probably under 17 and don't have driving licences, so would make sense that they are ferried to and from home

Sounds like Bailey’s family have arrived.

haha lol that would be interesting! out of likes otherwise I would give you one, the laughing face one....would be interesting if we do sign any of the players from phoenix academy in due course though. perhaps we discover a gem when the youngsters play them

Not sure if it is relevant to what you saw but the first team were being coached back from London today

ah okay, i don't think it was any of them as this was 2 white minibus type transports and seemed to be very young fresh faced lads in...hopefully one or 2 for the future in there!

  13. I've just collected something from Sutton Coldfield via Facebook Marketplace and went along the small roads. Passed Bodymoor Heath and there was quite a lot of activity going on, looked like youth team players were being minibussed somewhere aswell. Hopefully we hear something before close of play today regarding another signing!

Maybe Cantwell might not be so bad after all. 😃 (Apologise if already posted).

That is a great clip and shows similarities to Grealish, but also assets of his game which we have lacked in the team in recent years. His off the ball movement looks very good, he is clearly an intelligent player who can weight a pass and operates in dangerous areas of the pitch without buckling under pressure. No brainer for me, lets get this guy through the door

  15. I'd take Cantwell personally. I reckon Olise would have been a fantastic transfer for us and a snip at 8m, but he's gone to Palace now so Cantwell would be a good alternative. Get the conditioning staff to bulk him up a bit and add a bit more athleticisim to his game and I think he wouldnt be too far off from Grealish in terms of goals. Assists will come to his game with more time and playing in a better team.

Another factor which shouldn't be underestimated is that a player like Cantwell would genuinely jump at the chance to play for Villa. Same with Ings, they seem like grounded people genuinely happy to have the opportunity offered. I reckon we are working quietly and diligently in the background and this will happen shortly after the Grealish news is announced.

  16. On another note, I hope we can get JWP to supply Ings & co from the deep lying playmaker position, one of him and/or Buendia will find him. Amazed by the reversal of fortunes in both our clubs though, I remember being at Saint Mary's when we beat them 3-2, think we had 19% possession or something crazy like that. It was the brilliant Libor Kozak with the winner I think, they were like a top 6 team at that point I think and Lallana was there. I think Kozak would have done decent for us. Feel bad for saints but so happy for us

  17. I've accepted the thing now, and i've made my peace with it. Was in North London today and didn't have internet and didn't bother to check any updates, I was expecting to come home and find the BBC article saying that he had signed a 5 year contract and would join the city camp training tommorow. Instead I came back to find out we had signed DANNY INGS!!! And we seemingly stole him under the noses from spurs, like we did Watkins, who they played hardball with regards to the fee and wages, as seems to be the case today with Ings.

So that news really pepped me up and tbh I'm looking forward to beginning the season and looking forward to watch a positive forward thinking team at Villa Park. The romantic in me is saying that its not over till its over with regards to Jack, and he might have a last minute change of heart. But, that seems unlikely, and I am glad I have got closure and have made peace with him not leading us out this year.
