Got this weird feeling he could end up featuring a lot this tournament and really impressing.

Jhon is a high risk, high reward player, and we just don't have the capacity for that at the moment sadly.

He doesn't seem like an Emery player, and we have to go all in on Emery. £42m is good money, we need to sell some players at some point and there's simply no one else in the squad we could get that money for who would be a smaller overall loss.

I think he'll be one of the 7 to not make the final squad, but also not the worst thing in the world if he gets more time to rest and recover over the summer after a gruelling season

It's especially silly considering this is just a provisional squad and three or four of these players aren't going to make the final cut anyway.

if Martinez were to go he would miss all of #avfc pre season + potentially the first premier league game

It's terribly exciting to think how well we could do next season if we manage to avoid any more season-long injuries to key players, or indeed any lengthy absences at all really.

How does it look for that fifth CL spot next season too? It's going to be a competitive league, if we're able to progress far in a cup and even get into the knockout rounds of the CL, it would be nice to have slightly less pressure in the league.

If we draw at Palace, Spurs need to beat City and Sheffield by 8 goals, combined. (I assume it goes to goals scored when GD is tied)

Agonisingly close to sealing it in the best way possible, but that point could come in handy.

Feel much more confident going into that Palace game too, though it's going to be really tough.
