  1. If we lose to the Blues, you think this week has been bad. If we lose to them and have 1 or god forbid 0 points - that will be it.

    Blues could be straw....

First thing you've said in a while that I agree with. The blues match will be massive. Even I may be willing to revise my opinion (to an extent) if we don't turn up to that match.

  2. So that isn't the spine - that is the "English players", so reasoning again.

And we really have to go well into gagaland here coz it would have to rely on is thinking MON could actually spot a player abroad.

So we do sell Young for 25m (and personally - I'd snap their hand off before they could get the credit card out the wallet) , and find a "Palacios , or a Valencia , or a Rodageligigiligo (just for DDID) like that mighty club Wigan have, for a million or less

    Would you complain ?

I think the last few weeks (Holland and Wigan) have proved Young has been found out. Totally one footed, just dont allow him on his right, and you've got him.

At this moment, and I have changed my mind because I didnt like him at first. the only English youngster I'd be unhappy to let go is Milner (and I am not even going to credit MON with that one)

Well funnily enough, my original post, which you have now quoted twice, referred to the 'young English spine' so yes I am obviously going to refer to English players, "reasoning"?

As for the rest of your post, I'm sorry but I don't really understand it, except to saythat if you would really be keen to see Young leave then it is you who is in "gagaland". However, you did remind me of another young English player who would most likely follow MON out the door - Milner. I can't believe I forgot about Milner as he is my favourite player. If Milner were to have a couple of bad performances though, I am positive I could list the 'fans' on here who would be calling him shit and a waste of money.....actually I think I can recall some people saying that already. So I repeat - were MON to leave, it would not suprise me in the slightest if Young, Gabby, Milner and Davies were to follow him out.

  3. Ok, thank you for my warnings. I still maintain I wasn't posting for effect nor directing 'personal' insults at anyone. I do, however, continue to be angered by the idea that any Villa fan can legitimately believe that getting rid of O'Neill at this point is in the best interests of the club. Regardless of the result of our first match of this season's Premiership campaign, forcing O'Neill out would almost certainly leave us vulnerable to losing the young English spine of our team which I believe would be cataclysmic, therefore I believe that anyone angling for this outcome is wrong.

Name me a single other Villa manager who has been forced out by the fans - it just doesn't happen.

When we've changed managers in the past, when has it lead to all our best players following them?

Questioning your reasoning, can I ask wher this "young English Spine" is:-

Coz that to me reads , Cueller Davies .......Delph , Petrov......Heskey, Gabby

Personally, if we lose that "spine" I won't be bothered in the slightest !

In fact, since February , I would describe the team as "spineless" in more ways than one.

Um, as far as I'm aware Cueller is Spanish and Petrov Bulgarian. Heskey although not past it isn't young.

I was refering to the likes of Gabby, Young and yes, believe it or not, Davies.

And therein lies the difference between O'Neill and managers we've had in the past - were O'Neill to go before January I am convinced (of course I may be wrong) that Ashley Young would follow him. Players have repeatedly cited O'Neill as their reason for joining or wishing to stay at the club.

  6. Read them and agree with them - EDIT but did you understand them? The fact you are breaking them so quickly would suggest not, name calling directed at those who have a different opinion to you isn't acceptable and will soon see you fall foul of the rules you claim to agree with. Trent.

  7. No another silly signing made by MON but then again MON loves signings his old club friends.

Its either him or Davies thats shite or both of them.

Funny because I thought that Cuellar was signed from Rangers and MON managed Celtic; Ranger's bitter rivals

  8. Freidel

    Beye Cuellar Davies Shorey

    Milner Delph Reo-Coker Petrov Young

    Carew

This is assuming that Carew is fully fit and we don't pick up any injuries in Vienna. It's all very well complaining about the back four but we don't have any other options. Shorey is a decent underneath the shite performances his been putting in in a Villa shirt, with no option but to play him perhaps it's a chance for him to prove himself. Cuellar and Davies are both class, they are just lacking confidence - especially Davies, with Reo-Coker playing in front of them they are more likely to regain this confidence. No need to drop Delph, as part of a 5 man midfield he has more opportunity to shine. I would start with Carew up front if he is fit, depending on how the game goes potentially bring Heskey on later and maybe even take off Delph put Gabby on the left-wing and allow Ashley Young to roam about....
