  1. Regarding the customer service, I think we have issues at VP.

I sit in the Upper Trinity so get drinks etc at the hatches near the Holte End ( I guess) - I asked for a coffee, the girl repled " huh, we aint got any left" - I said "OK, how about hot chocolate" she repled - none left - nothing left.

I tried further along and asked the same questiion - the girl went into the storeroom and brought out two long batches of Coffee and Hot Chocolate !!

Last season there was a manager there I think - he was excellent, but don't think he's there this season.

Just thought you oughta know Gen.

Happy New Year to you bud.

  2. Hi General

I ordered the new shirt online through Villa and i am quite annoyed.

I ordered the shirt as a present for someone im going to visit abroad this weekend. It came today and i was delighted, only to see it is long sleeve. I phoned the Customer Services there, and they said i need to send it back recorded delivery.

So now, i have spent £50 getting the shirt (£45 + Shipping £4.50), and now have to spend another £6 sending it back to Villa even though they have sent me the wrong shirt. I am spending £56 now on the home shirt here, and i will have to wait another 2 weeks to get it! I thought buying direct was a better idea as money goes to the club even though I live in South London, when i could have bought the shirt from SportsWorld or somewhere for about £20 cheaper than this whole process, plus instead of giving my friend the shirt this weekend, im going to have to send it on to him, again costing me more money.

I have called Aston Villa Direct about this, but they are as helpful on the matter as a fur coat in a sauna.

Is there someone i can speak to at the club who can help me on this matter?

    Mike

As I found out, this is actually outsourced to Kitbag.com, so AVFcC do not have direct accountability for distribution although service standards require filtering back.

  3. General,

I am sure efforts are being made to improve the food and drinks service at Villa Park however, I think one of the big problems is the attitude of some of the staff. I sit in the upper Trinity and there were large queues just before the game was about to start and the staff were hanging around chatting and taking as much time as possible to serve us and it also took 3 members of staff to serve me a bottle of water and a bottle of diet coke.

In future I will buy my drinks before I enter the ground and I am sure many others may do the same.

    Many thanks

    Tom

TT. I always have the same problem. The service in the Upper Trinity is bad to say the least. I've had two luke warm coffees lately, they just don't know how to make a proper coffee (hot water !1).

They are half soaked and slow as well. Peanuts and monkeys comes to mind :-)

  4. How about Carlo Cudicini - surely he'd want 1st team football now - he's a great keeper.....

Except we already have a better keeper than Cudicini at the moment.

    You sure ?

I am not in the Sorrenson out camp myself, but it appears that most Villa fans want a change.

If MON wants a change, he's definately an option imo -- I reiterate, imo

  5. Gareth Barry's been asking MON to sign Bellamy and talking the deal up - normally a sign that it's going to happen.

I haven't poured through all of the posts, so aplogies if this has already been mentioned.

As for £10 mill for Craig Gordon, that's £4 million too much at least.

How about Carlo Cudicini - surely he'd want 1st team football now - he's a great keeper.....

  6. General

Sorry to be negative here but the quality of staff serving food and drinks in the Upper Trinity is awful.

Don't know if you do any internal mystery shopping, but trust me, all season the people serving there have been both unhelpful, zero smiles and tend to have the wrong attitude towards customers.

I do understand that 1) you are new and all things can't be changed in one go 2) they work undrr pressure and 3) they are lowly paid --however it costs nothing to smile and treat customers properly does it ?

  7. General, do the board have any plans to re-locate the away supporters. I have firmly believed that for a good few years it has given the away teams an advantage with them being located behind the witton goal. Many other teams seem to give the away support an area either to the side of the goal or up in the gods. I think villa fans behind both goals would increase an already fabulous atmosphere and give us the home advantage we should have, making villa park a true fortress. Keep up the good work, it is very much appreciated.

Absolutely - away fans should sit in the Witton Lane Stand ( Doug £llis) - then we can get surround sound support :-)

  8. I drink coffee and sit in the Upper Trinity.

The service is fair to crap -- especially if you're in a hurry before kick off - the staff certainly aren't in a hurry, they don't seem to be aware that there's a match on.

Same at half time -- maybe you get what you pay for in terms of staff enthusiasm..........still a Doug £llis run off problem I hope !

  9. It's not the 'be all and end all' General but it is VERY important that we get players in now as we cannot allow the R word to become part of our vocabulary and we need - I mean NEED -- new blood in to enable us to have a decent 2nd half to the season....

I think that the only way to calm nerves is if MON can get some quality players to put pen to paper before the end of the month.

We all have faith I'm sure :-)

    I do !

PS. Baliwick's a new one on me !!!

  10. With the squad we have now Villa are in a very dangerous position. Injuries and we might end up a Championship team next season!

MON has to buy players...at least 3-4 new signings is a must!

If Mon believed this current squad was in danger of being relegated then if he couldn't get the players he wants to move us forward he would sign stop gaps till the end of the season. You can rest assured though that Mon is no fool and if he believes, as appears to be the case, that this squad is good enough to finish above the relegation zone then thats good enough for me. For what its worth I believe that this squad, although small, is way too good to go down.

Fair play to Mon as although it appears Randy is willing to be back him to the hilt he is not prepared to pay over the odds for any player.

Some good points Mark but on current form we have every chance of falling into the relegation dogfight which is very worrying.

As good a manager MON is, he did take Leicetser down.

  11. Hiya General -- the requests come piling in don't they !!

At West Bromwich Albion ( The Baggies ) they have a swipe card season ticket system which must save a lot of time and hassle for fans at the turnstyles.

Don't know what the ROI is, but I think this would make for effienciencies and re-deployment of attendants ?

It shouldn't cost a great deal as the Baggies aren't exactly a wealthy club....

  12. Just seen the report in tonight's Birmingham Mail about Paddy going to the Bolton match and sitting in the VIP zones afer the General caled him at home to see how he was.

This is just fantastic stuff -- what a brilliant bunch of people we have running our club.I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere btw.

Hope you get well in time Paddy.............

    In time for what?

But yeah it was fantastic, good to see Villa getting some positive coverage in the press as well, I know they almost certainly didn't want the publicity, but they got it, albeit on a small scale, every little helps as they say.

I meant in time you will be well again Paddy.
