  1. Hiya General -- the requests come piling in don't they !!

At West Bromwich Albion ( The Baggies ) they have a swipe card season ticket system which must save a lot of time and hassle for fans at the turnstyles.

Don't know what the ROI is, but I think this would make for effienciencies and re-deployment of attendants ?

It shouldn't cost a great deal as the Baggies aren't exactly a wealthy club....

It also allows 50 year year old blokes to use an under 16's season ticket

For those who don't live in London, the transport network uses a similar method (called Oyster). Of course there is fradualent use of this, but the penalty for improper use is usually enough to deter.

  2. 4. Transfer Market. REST ASSURED, everyone is working this hard. When the window opens is not as important as what we look like when it closes. Believe me, we are working hard on this.

Thats what we want to hear! Happy New Year!

    :)

General - do you have any espionage skills that can be used to scupper fellow Premiership clubs in the transfer market?

  3. If we aquired those two then this would scare the shit out of any team!

    ----------------------Klose-------------------------Baros-------------------------------------

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ----Barry---------Petrov-----------------------McCann---------------Beckham----------

Couldn't scare a 5 yr old at the minute.

    i love villa

    i dont love baros

his attitude isnt with the team. rather like tevez at eastlondonuptonpark

  4. Imagine Beckham whipping in crosses for Juampi to stick his head on?

might need the crossbar changed every day.

O'Neill made it pretty clear to see that he didn't fancy signing Beckham and wouldn't be swayed by marketing benefits! After all, look at West Spam!

yeah, but imagine beckham whipping us all in whipped cream and making everyone beautiful in 'police' sunglasses and fake tans. yeah baby.

  5. Topic - Beckham

    Minus points;

    Media attention

    History with MANURE

    Lack of pace

Lack of technical ability besides striking the ball

Not a great header of the ball

A superstar - so may unsettle the dressing room

    Not a great tackler

    Petrov has the No.7

    Pro's

    Immediate ROI

    He creates goals

Works his socks off - big tick with MON

Great mentor for the younger players - i.e Milner (please) and Abonglahor

Still the best free kicker in the world (better than solano and how much do we miss him)

Will free up Angel to score rather than assist

    Likes 'man bags'

In my opinion (sorry - IMO) there would be nothing wrong with paying him £80k a week for 2 seasons..... BRING IT ON!!!! (to quote Family Guy)

PS - I have a wierd feeling Klose would do **** all for us in the premiership. Think Davor Suker...................

  6. isn't it convinent that £64m is very similar to EURO100m.

    anyway

we will be sold, DOL we be sacked and we'll have massive investement in the next transfer window. we've just got to keep our head above water until then.

  7. great post blandy, but £25m on chairs by anyone's standards is pricey

IF Petchey and Ellis do sell, then the new guys will be required to offer the same terms for our chares, and there are a lot of us - than 25 million quids worth of us (approx).

    i'll get my coat

  8. From above link:

    Villa deal "still weeks away"

    Jan 3 2006

But the revelation that any deal is at least two weeks away will increase speculation that the haggling could yet scupper an agreement.

    aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    :bang:

  9. i do recall the only 2 things holging ellis back were

    1) appreciation of the land around villa park valued at roughly £20m (hence why the £45m ranson bid was thrown out)

    2) that he wanted the club to be left with someone who had their best interests at heart.

so the fact that a) the offer is £65m and B) neville is a villa fan based in solihull should mean it's a no brainer

  10. alan wright. he was small but skillful.

by the way MODS, can we try and get a poll off the ground for people to vote for villa's best ever player? you could organise it so you have to donate to vote, and the money goes towards a nice plaque or something. i'd be well up for that. andy gray would get my vote.
