We're not elite athletes, but my team of fairly high performing software devs have no meetings before 10 these days, because we're a team of late risers and came to an agreement we'd be happier starting later so we pushed our team meetings back to accomodate. Some teams start at 8, we have some people that head for their desk no earlier than 9:59. If our boss put his foot down about working hours when we get shit done, work the same amount of time, and work hard when we're there, I imagine most of us would quit.

If the team had said they were happier getting training done with earlier so we'd moved training forward to start at 8, I imagine people would have fewer problems, but there's the assumption that wanting to start later is them being lazy.

Unlike your crack team of soft-devs though, our Villa first team squad are currently hitting feck-all KPIs. How about we try the opposite approach and have them in at 6am and wake them up with power hoses, presumably what Bielsa does...

you have to bear in mind the validity of it, its reported on the internet, that it was a times reporter.....but if it is true, yes, shocking.

It's a direct quote from Dean, I don't think The Times would invent that.

  3. Is Ollie a sulker? I don't like his body-language at times, notwithstanding the lack of service we give him. Don't think Mr Conte will be looking to sign him any time soon though.

  4. I'm surprised Balague still gets fed snippets given the amount of casual judgements and second-hand opinions he throws around. I used to like him on Sky's Revista but the guy's gob and shirts have both got a lot louder since then. Pipe dahn son, be'ave yourself!

As COP-26 is going on I wonder what the overall difference in carbon emissions is in having an evening kick off rather than a day time match? More lighting, more heating, less possibilities of using public transportation. It would be interesting to see the stats.

When Lambert was in charge remember the club put out a statement that we were an early-adopter of clubs going carbon-neutral. Between that and the backwards goal-kick, the mid-2010's at Villa were truly a wonderful place.

I know absolutely **** all about Fonseca, other than the fact that he seems to be linked with most PL jobs when they come up, but he never seems to be appointed for some reason.

Like Felix Magath until he finally rocked-up at Fulham and relegated them (won at VP, though, obviously. Fcuking Lambert...)

  7. Bailey taking the throws was a real cringe-wince. Surprised West Ham didn't try and imitate us. I guess they didn't need to, they knew they had the beating of us at, like, "ground-football".

  8. He was a little casual with the ball at times, cheaply giving away possession. Hopefully it's just him adapting to the PL as well as getting closer to peak fitness. Was he a little erratic/wayward in the Bundesliga? We got Bert for that role.

He was at the ground. He was sitting with another bloke in the players box between trinity and the north stand.

So who of our senior players that are out, has Covid/is shielding, which Dean referred to pre-match? Either Ings, Traore or Sanson presumably.

  10. His luscious locks seems to attract the camera, as I've noticed a few times that the tv pictures pan to him once we've taken a set-piece. I don't see coaches at other clubs get that level of attention. If it all ends in tears, he'll have an Instagram following out of it at least.

Sorry about the injury but he had 3 touches and made 2 passes in 15 minutes.

    He just isn't good enough.

He seems to have to over-perform compared to his fellow-midfielders to impress a lot of fans. I'm not sure why. He's more than held his own this season and yesterday we were flat as a team from the start.
