When Lambert was in charge remember the club put out a statement that we were an early-adopter of clubs going carbon-neutral. Between that and the backwards goal-kick, the mid-2010's at Villa were truly a wonderful place.

Bailey taking the throws was a real cringe-wince. Surprised West Ham didn't try and imitate us. I guess they didn't need to, they knew they had the beating of us at, like, "ground-football".

He was a little casual with the ball at times, cheaply giving away possession. Hopefully it's just him adapting to the PL as well as getting closer to peak fitness. Was he a little erratic/wayward in the Bundesliga? We got Bert for that role.

So who of our senior players that are out, has Covid/is shielding, which Dean referred to pre-match? Either Ings, Traore or Sanson presumably.

His luscious locks seems to attract the camera, as I've noticed a few times that the tv pictures pan to him once we've taken a set-piece. I don't see coaches at other clubs get that level of attention. If it all ends in tears, he'll have an Instagram following out of it at least.

He seems to have to over-perform compared to his fellow-midfielders to impress a lot of fans. I'm not sure why. He's more than held his own this season and yesterday we were flat as a team from the start.

Must admit I did cringe a bit at Dean referring to Rice as "Dec" when he spoke of him "nobbling one in". We're all one big football family, it's ace!
