The moment in the first half when he had the ball at his feet and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited .

It was like who blinks first loses. And they did. Psychological warfare.  It said i will wait here for 30 mins and not give a shit.

Anyone have a video of this? I saw it live, thought it was hilarious

Not to answer for someone else, but I'm guessing the deliberate sabotage is the decision not to implement the new badge; not to use it anywhere but on the shirt, not to use any of its variants and not to support it through any of our media channels - it's in 10% of the places that it should be.

Is there a preference that the new badge had been rolled out everywhere, at significant cost, and then changed again later since he believes it's not up to scratch?

The guy is trying to do his job as best he can and sometimes it feels impossible to please fans.

And the big problem here is that the "someone else" that you're hinting at is Christian Purslow, but the "someone else" who made the decision is Villa fans - albeit most likely steered that way by a mixture of restriction of choice and the appliance of nostalgia.

    100%

Villa fans were restricted to a choice of two. It sounds like we may get to choose again and we will again be restricted.

Fair enough but his unilateral binning of the vote on the new badge is a disgrace for me.

He has deliberately sabotaged the new badge for his own reasons. The club badge is the symbol of the club. The brand. It should be 100%. We just about have the worst branding imaginable - two different designs everywhere FFS.

The way it has been communicated too has been a joke.

I'll try to be civil vs my last comment.

Heck is an expert in branding. He's had huge success. He started with avfc after the brand "for the next 10 years" was already decided and in his expert opinion is not up to scratch. That's clear because he decided to not spend millions on rebranding everything and has now subsequently stated a new crest will be coming.

This is not sabotage. It's shrewd and in line with the job he was hired for. It would be wreckless to spend millions and change everything and either 1. Keep it when he knows it's not good enough or 2. Spend more money changing it again a year later.

And yes, like I said, he's an expert so he will know that 2 crests is not conducive to a successful brand.

In my opinion, he will want something even more simplistic and the goal will be for instant recognition worldwide in several years.

You like the badge, as do I, and hopefully we will both like the new one. Let's calm down and trust the process.

Curious to know what you would have done to improve the communication (genuinely)? I rate Heck but nobody is perfect.

The emergence of kellyman last night means that I think the club will hold fire now for this window unless a very high quality attacker becomes available.

Zero chance a decent performance from a 17 year old against a shit team will influence whether we get an attacker now. Kellyman is a youngster, he will be integrated slowly in the coming years. Can't imagine Emery is now thinking, "I can rely on this guy to come off the bench against Liverpool"

If we get someone, or dont get someone, his game last night will have had zero influence on that decision

If there's no one else available that we can get then probably. Purely as cover in the event Ollie is injured though, don't see him pushing Ollie for a starting place. Wouldn't be ideal. May as well have kept Archer.

We should really activate that buy back

Those Ings and Chambers tweets were literally only about an hour or so before the club announced on the website. Hardly a major coup.

That was pretty much the first anyone heard of it though, right?

Definitely! And what's impressive is that he once again just comes on and scores. Normally players need a run of games to get into form, Bertie just goes out on the pitch and does his thing 😄 Perfect to have that kind of wildcard player in the squad.

    Except he didn't score...

    • Can you ask them do they have any near future plans to replace the frankly awfully designed & poorly laid out website & app.
    • why is the social media output so poor and  is it only set up to appeal to the younger fan base ? it’s just regurgitated content mostly.
    • Why has communication from club to client been so poor time and time again of late.

These are all valid and top of my list but presumably it's now the remit of Chris Heck who is still finding his feet (and of course these things can't be changed overnight)

So with that said, I would love to hear more from Chris whether that's in a similar format to this session or semi annual letters from him to fans.

Why would any transport leave when the person involved hasn't completed their business?

1st part of medical was yesterday and 2nd part today - makes no sense for the plane to leave before the medical is completely finished.

    I would argue opposite.

These are chartered planes. The company likely has many around the world and will move them as and when they get a request to book a private flight.

It also costs money to keep a plane on the ground. I would think Birmingham is expensive.

Thought I read £9m, which felt high.

He won't have to be much good to be a big upgrade on Digne for us.

That's 1 month of Digne's salary so will pay for itself quickly

Wonder how much Jose Gaya would be instead.

Seems an odd deal this one.

    Why? Cause he is 31?

Not sure a fee was discussed. This could be a no-brainer if it's a couple of mil and he gives us two years of being as good as Moreno. We can then spend big in a few years or hopefully a youngster progresses.

Could be making a profit here Vs Digne sale

Likewise. The earliest mention on twitter seems to point at Facebook. Chinese whispers.
