You could have spent the time you used to write that post Googling and come back with less uneducated thoughts.

I’ll shut up and go away then ✌🏻

I know the focus is Russia at the moment but America scares the shit out of me.

The republican party have just gone ape shit crazy. They tried to steal an election, they are banning books from being read in schools, they are going after transgender kids, they are controlling women's rights and now want to get rid of the department for education.

Even though he lost, trump becoming president seems to have really just shifted things way to the right there.

I often see these kind of headlines but never read into them too much so forgive my uneducated thoughts.

Steal an election? In what way, was that the fancy dress protest last year?
    which books are being banned?

transgender kids are being hunted? Wow really?

women have more rights than ever in recorded history in the western world I’m led to believe.

the state education isn’t great so opposition to it is healthy I’d say.
    Are things really that bad?

    Completely agree for many reasons

    1) I don’t bother getting food and drink at half time these days because I’m not missing the game and there is no chance of that if you want food and drink in the Holte.  It’s only small revenue for the Villa but it’s just stupid in this day and age, the lines mean a lot don’t go and get food and drink.

    2) I’m sure I’m going to miss a goal one day through standing up or the row(s) in front of me standing up because people going, as you say, five minutes before half time or getting back five minutes after half time and them trying to get back to their seats.  It’s bad enough people leaving five minutes leaving before the end of the game to “miss the traffic” which is always likely to be a time for a goal and me, like a lot of people, looking around people leaving or those accommodating them.

Food service has to get better at Villa at half time but I doubt it ever will.

It’s not even about missing a few minutes od the game, the qeues and the dicking around whilst being served (how long to hand over a pint and unscrew a couple of bottle lids). The last time I was there I waited around to be told there’s no more beer in the pumps and I gave up trying to put a bet on before the game she was taking so long. It’s just crap unless you’re in hospitality.

I'm afraid that Villa missed the boat in the years before membership of the Premier League started to be based on a franchise for the top clubs, who monopolise the money, and are virtually guaranteed never to be relegated.

Potential gatecrashers are sent on an enervating tour of obscure parts of Europe, to ensure their resources are stretched to the limit.

This protectionist ringfencing is known as the Europa League.

Mid-table is actually bottom of the little league within a league, which consists of the top four plucky losers.

No club of moderate size even pretends they can break into the crème de la crème: the top half is the best they can hope for.

At present Villa's aspiration is to actually achieve the status of midtable mediocrity, and if they achieve it, a big club will buy the team's players who got them there.

    Mediocre? Don't I just wish!

    Ain’t life great 😁

Well, it’s more to do with someone with white skin who turns red in the face when someone argues with them.

Ive met a few people of other races who hate foreigners/are racist who don’t go red in the face, but they aren’t ever called gammon…

because it’s ok to single out white people for the colour of their skin though

It’s not a racial slur apparently

  6. You turn up to a game convinced that we’re a good side with a good chance of winning and playing top level football.
very rarely you could describe what’s served the same and this boils over as the match goes on. I think it’s the same for most clubs who aren’t challenging for anything, although we can turn quite quickly to be fair.

We weren’t just making up the numbers in the championship and I enjoyed attending matches when we were there as the atmosphere was much better and went to more games.

I've seen enough horrors from skiing to deter me ever being interested in doing it, but yeah, that's fully sealed it.

I ended up in hospital and then on my back for a couple of weeks from trying to take a pair of skis off! I’ve only been a few times but would happily risk injury to ski again it’s that good.

The one game he played? People don’t seem to notice him when he’s on the pitch. December to early January he came off the bench in just about every game. Also started against Chelsea. 225 minutes under Gerrard. He didn’t only play against Man U.

This is actually partly why I don’t rate him. At a glance he looks like a player (although a bit mistake prone), but he doesn’t seem to make much difference in games. I struggle to think of positive actions, not necessary goals or assist but maybe a really nice pass or important tackle. I do remember a great through ball in that cup game against Chelsea in September, but not much else.

And I was referring to berson for the record

I can only remember him playing one game so can only pass judgment on that. I’m not declaring he was a great player or owt just wondered what happened to him.

    thanks for the stats 👍🏻

Dont get it. Gerrard says positive things about him but doesnt play him. Id be looking for a way out if i was him. Looks like another berson situation

I wonder what happened to him. I seem to recall he looked a tidy player in the one game he played. Veretout was the same, looked decent but just couldn’t get in the team.

Where’s your evidence? They’re good players in your opinion and yet collectively they have never shown it.
Deano was the man who built that squad and he paid the price for it. Gerrard has shown that he can sign top players. I am sure he will redress the balance of the side and we will be much the better for it next season. Until then it will be up and down. Getting Marvelous back will help as it brings better balance to the side but I suspect that Gerrard does not see him as the long term solution.

Evidence? Are you the ducking police? I think we have a set of good players and I don’t think our squad was woefully unbalanced. Not sure why I need to bring you evidence.

we need good players who want to be here not top players who like the idea of playing for Steven Gerrard.
I don’t think marvellous is the answer to all our short term problems either.

Why do you think it’s a good squad? Where’s your evidence for that? Whenever Grealish has been unavailable are ppg in the Premiership has been relegation battle form.

All positions covered with good players when he took over. The manager is there to get the best out of them, deano wasn’t so he’s gone. It’s a simple game.

I thought we were really unlucky in both Utd games. We were also unlucky against Leeds where all of their goals had an element of luck. Brentford scored a worldie that they will never score again and then punished a late mistake when we should have been well ahead. Ings goal against Utd that was ruled out. Ollies goal against Newcastle that was ruled out. We have had a few penalty shouts in those games too which have all been ignored including the one yesterday.

Look, I don’t think we are playing well by any stretch but it seems at the moment that every mistake gets punished and we are losing close games as a result. If we get and score that early penalty yesterday, we likely go on to win the game comfortably. We didn’t and Gerrard lost his head a bit with the changes and we lost the game. Had he not changed things we likely would have ended up with a draw but everyone would have gone mad as he hadn’t changed things!

I really believe that Gerrard will turn it around and if he doesn’t then he will get sacked but people need to give him a chance. He has inherited a woefully unbalanced squad that needs to be rebalanced. Grealish carried us for the last two seasons and we lost him In the summer. The players we signed in the summer have not yet worked out. I have seen people writing off the players that we have just signed which is mind blowing.

We are nowhere near a relegation scrap and we won’t be come the end of the season. We need some luck to go our way and we need some out of form players to regain their mojo. Once we do we will be fine. We can then focus on rebalancing our squad and then we will see what Gerrard can do. Until then we need to get behind the team.

I have to say I think he has inherited a good squad and I don’t see how you can say it was woefully unbalanced.

We’ve been unlucky for years if that’s the case. I always believe you get what you deserve.
