Save your abuse/praise until the manager is appointed. It surely won't be McLeish so all this complaining about the board is embarrassing! Think about it, why would we appoint him? Lerner isn't stupid! He has been discredited after his second relegation and no Premiership team would take him on. He will have to go back to the Championship or wherever and rebuild his reputation, like Phil Brown, Curbishley, McClaren etc. Have some faith!

Calm down guys, it isn't done. Have some faith in our board, why would they appoint Mcleish? That would be insane! I have nothing against him for managing BCFC, he is just a poor manager - or at the least a manager that we should in no circumstance aspire to get. He was good at creating a solid team that didn't concede many goals, using this as a base to stay up each year. Except he failed at this in the end and got relegated twice! Why would Lerner appoint him? I really liked Houllier and still do, that made sense - this does not.

I think he will stay for now but not sign a new contract, do the "I am concentrating on my football" thing and then leave next summer. Young deserves his shot at United, but like Milner, Downing has only really had one good season here and starting to get in the England team...it is disappointing.

Why would they go for Martinez over Rafa or Hughes? I don't really believe it.

Just been on the Liverpool forum...They adore Rafa and think he will do a great job at Villa. They seem to think the British media have been out to get Benitez for a while now, and he is a great manager.

Why did they sack him them ?

Terrible message. Calling the victims of Hillsborough "scum" and using it as a reason for not wanting Benitez. I am quite worried the fans are going to turn on the new manager straight away.

Joey55 everything you say is correct. Though this is Villa..I can't think of a bigger name than Ancelotti coming to manage us. I admire Hughes and Moyes but part of me is scared that they will use the same tactics as MON (as good as they were at the time, I don't want them to be repeated).
