He's at Villa Park now. I was hoping he may not have got the job but now it looks done and dusted...
how do you know this??
-
I think the point is though that the fans have a massive emotional tie to the club and want to be top dogs and win things (and were teased with this for the last 5 years) but the board have a more business like approach and if asked off the record would probably be happy with a top 10 finish every season.
-
I'm mostly disappointed that we won't be able to attract exciting top players and the ones that we do have are not going to have any inspiration to stick around, we can say goodbye to Downing.
-
Makes me wanna vomit all this
Randy does realise that the fans will turn in him if he does this doesn't he?!
I think you'll find it will be a small minority who turn on him at the end of the day. Most of us are grown ups who will get over it.
-
They have only said they will interview him. It has to be a smokescreen, there is no way someone as successful RL would do this it would be professional suicide.

Birmingham Mail phoned me to ask for a reaction. I said he hasnt been appointed yet and if he was it would the most stupid appointment and a catastrophic one. I put the theory up of Moyes to us and then asked her what their office thought and she said the consensus was McCleish was going to Villa.
They phoned for a reaction and what better way to get a reaction than to suggest the worst thing you could think of.
-
If I'm honest I don't see why Moyes would want to come to us, we haven't got much more to offer than Everton other than a bit more money and a change of scenery. He has put alot in Everton and I think he would only leave if the new job was to good to turn down.
-
Imagine if Randy appointed Gary MacAllister!!!!
MacAllister or McLeish?
-
If Moyes doesn't want to come why doesn't he just issue a statement to that effect. Confusion and speculation over instantly.
I am sure the Everton fans would welcome that peace of mind too
I think he did do when Houllier resigned.

It has revelled the level of manager that we are looking at though

We seem to be making a dogs breakfast of the managerial appointment again. Just like we did last year
You talk (type) some absolute toss.
Chill out and wait and see what happens, and when it does happen, whoever it is who's manager give them a chance.
So many fans have no patience whatsoever.
If it is Martinez, it could turn out to be shite, or it could be awesome, or extremely average, but let's see how it goes before you start blaming the board for something they havent even done yet.

If we took on a manager like RM and downing didn't want to stay because of it and left but RM then picked up some unknown young players that were the next best thing and he became a great manager who could then attract the best in the world then so what about Downing. Sometimes a risk/gamble needs to be taken to get there. I think most of you a deluded into thinking the club is bigger than it is and that we deserve on merit to be mentioned in the same breath as the top 4's
-
It seems to me that the only blokes available are the ones we don't want and the ones we want don't/won't come to us. I've got a feeling we are going to be disappointed.

Anyone else rather concerned by Rafa's transfers though? I mean why did he buy Keane and try to get Barry? Where was the logic in that?

Rafa seems to be the only one out of them all who can attract top players from around the world and maybe keep some of our top players. The only bad thing is some of the shite he has bought.
Please Randy NO Mclaren

If we got Hughes and he took three years to finish 9th, 7th and 5th respectively and then had a team that could squeeze into the top 4, would you be happy?
-
I think Hughes could be a great signing. He is up and coming and could potentially be the next alex ferguson. I am surprised how some posters expect us to get the best managers in europe when we are nowhere near that level and even if we did get Ancelotti we aren't suddenly going to finish in the top 4 which the same posters would then start saying how shit Ancelotti is.
-
We are hardley going to re-coup the supposed £8m that we didn't get from the Milner deal and if he chips in with 15 goals from midfield he would be like a new signing. Our own Frank Lampard or Stevie G that we have been missing forever.
-
If we get Sparky as our new manager do you think there will be a reprisal for old cue ball?

Have you heard all the BS they are spouting on SSN? Theopinions of the fans have changed in the last hour and now we want to give him a chance. I can't believe hoe the **** media control what we all think. If they want to get the real impression they should have a look at VT for a while.
Here's looking to mid table at best with boring football next season - Oh and we will always be last on match of the day as well.
