  1. Yes Pro Evo 5 is released next month and pefection with football games on a console returns.

If you wonna play football for the football and not to see how good Carlos looks or how many tricks you can do then get Pro Evo, as Fifa has been so far behind for almost 3yrs now.

Some scans from the Offical PS2 mag's review, a very good read. Seems that it has once again gone a step further in near perfection to football on a console

hendrie isnt playing for a contract nor is he available due to suspension....

Why is it that people are quick to point out he was playing well before he got a contract....

  4. Arsenal prepared to sell Bentley

Arsenal have accepted a transfer request from winger David Bentley.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Norwich but on his return to Arsenal, he found his first-team opportunities remained limited.

Bentley therefore asked to leave and manager Arsene Wenger confirmed: "I will let him go.

"It's a bit of the risk you take when you send a player out on loan and he gets the taste of what it's like to play every week in the Premiership."

He added: "He comes back and thinks it will not be easy to play the same number of games this season as last season.

"Then he becomes impatient and a bit nervous about the situation.

"I understand that as David Bentley is a flank player or a second striker.

"In these positions, we have Robert Pires, Jose Antonio Reyes, Alexander Hleb, Freddie Ljungberg, Robin van Persie and Dennis Bergkamp."

    Bentley looking to leave?

by Tom Adams - created on 12 Aug 2005

David Bentley has reportedly asked to leave Arsenal as he looks for a club that can offer him regular first team football.

The England Under-21 star has been a promising talent at Highbury ever since drawing comparisons with Dennis Bergkamp as he scored an exquisite lob against Middlesbrough in the 2004 FA Cup.

To further his progression the winger spent last season on loan at Norwich although The Canaries were prevented from seeing the best of the 20-year-old due to injury.

Bentley has always been impatient to break into Arsene Wenger's plans and looked to be growing in stature as he featured prominently in The Gunners' pre-season tour to Austria and the victorious Amsterdam Tournament campaign.

However, the arrival of Belarus international Alexander Hleb has provided yet another obstacle for the Englishman to overcome, and he failed to even make the substitutes bench in the Community Shield defeat to Chelsea.

Bentley had then been expected to captain Arsenal's reserves against West Ham on Monday, although the gifted youngster was withdrawn before kick-off.

After apparently failing to enhance his standing in Wenger's eyes, Bentley has now reputedly handed in a transfer request in an attempt to end his time at Highbury.

Both Norwich and Crystal Palace have been linked with an ambitious attempt to secure Bentley's services on a season-long loan deal, although Premiership outfit West Ham have been rumoured to be interested in clinching a permanent deal.

Replacment for Nobby, still young good delivery on him?

  6. I reakon we will get him in the next couple of days, and I think Villa will buckle and pay the extra million.

  7. Laursen Hopeful

Martin Laursen is setting his sights on the Premiership opener against Bolton, after coming through a second-half outing at Walsall last night.

The Danish international defender had feared a knee injury would rule him out of the August 13 clash, but is now hoping to prove his fitness.

And he believes he must complete a 90-minute run-out in Utrecht on Friday night to have a chance of facing Bolton.

He commented: "We have to wait and see how my knee reacts but it was another 45 minutes and it feels alright. I have played on Saturday (at Wolves) and now at Walsall and I hope to play a part on Friday night as well, and then we just have to wait and see how the knee reacts with more training and more games.

"I would be glad to try to play the full game in Utrecht and then see how the knee reacts. That would be a good test because I would very much like to play against Bolton.

"To do that I obviously have to get 90 minutes under my belt if I am to play against Bolton, so it would be nice to try. But we have to wait and see with my knee. I can't say anything with certainty."

Laursen, whose first Premiership season was dogged by injury, continued: "I may need surgery if my knee is not alright. It would put me out for a long time, although ten months has been mentioned and that is a long time. I just hope everything will be good.

"I am quite happy about things now. Obviously I haven't played that much. I haven't tested the knee that much and I haven't played 90 minutes yet. We haven't played against very strong sides. We have played smaller teams. So I can't say how the knee will react.

"My training is going well. We are monitoring the training a bit but I am training a lot, although perhaps not everyday on the pitch with the others. But I am training everyday in the gym."

David O'Leary remains cautious about Laursen's chances of starting the season. The Villa boss added: "He got another 45 minutes fitness-wise, but he's missed the month which forms the base of our six-week pre-season training, which is really heavy conditioning work. He still needs to get a lot of that into him."
