  1. So what if the new manager is not liked by the players, they moan about his training and continue doing **** all.

Not even the next messiah could sort it out in such a short space of time.

Then that will be the boards fault i assume?

Also i like how you try and bring MON into every post you make,

Eh i never even mentioned MON, what on earth are you on about?

    messiah=mon no?

No no not at all, i didn't mean it like that. I meant that everyone wants Houllier out fairly, but whoever we get in might not be amazing, its not guaranteed.

  3. A review...

Right now, as an all-round proposition, there’s nothing to touch the iPad 2. That might change in time, the :

    - Motorola Xoom,

    - Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1,

    - LG Optimus Pad,

    - RIM BlackBerry PlayBook and

    - HP TouchPad

are all gearing up to challenge it. But apart from the Galaxy Tab 10.1’s Super AMOLED display, nothing we’ve seen in any of these rivals seems to threaten the iPad 2. And even if a plausible alternative does emerge, it will be many moons before any other tablet can seriously compete with Apple’s ecosystem of more than 65,000 iPad-specific apps.

So for the next several months at least, the iPad 2 is in a league of its own, in terms of design, battery life and app support. Even the price is sensible, matching the original iPad dollar for dollar in the US. UK pricing has yet to be officially confirmed, but the Wi-Fi only 16GB version looks set to cost £439 inc VAT, increasing for the 3G and larger capacity versions.

You may not like the way Apple does business – its 30% cut on app-generated revenue has been branded by some as anti-competitive – and the way Apple devices lock you into the dreadful iTunes is hardly enticing. There’s still no USB or SD card slot, and there’s still no support for Flash.

Overall, though, the iPad 2 experience is overwhelmingly positive. We wish the cameras were better, and that Apple would open up its closed system just a weeny bit; but for what it is, the iPad 2 is a superb device, a resounding success in a market where Apple’s every competitor has so far failed. If you’re in the market for a tablet, you’d be mad not to put it at the top of your list.

    The rest.....

  4. Can someone outline for me the point in the iPad? I like the look of them etc etc, but I have an iPhone. Would there be much point in investing in one? What limitations are there on the iPad?

    Cheers all.

Its a luxury really, if you can afford it and dont have a laptop then it 'might' be worth it

Can do lots with it and its nice to use thats about it really.

If you have a laptop its not really worth it.

  5. That's done by the Mighty Boosh lot isn't it? Might give that a whack.

Written and Directed by Paul King, who's worked on Garth Marenghi, The Mighty Boosh and Come Fly With Me. Barratt, Fielding, Farnaby and Ayoade all make appearances.

    = Genius.

  6. Just about to watch Tron, is it worth it? (v2010)

I watched it on cinema and i have to say it was awful..probably the worst movie ive seen on cinema

Looks good and awesome soundtrack by Daft Punk, but everything else is garbage.

  7. Houllier reveals "commitment and will to win" ahead of Wolves match

Manager Gerard Houllier previews the Wolves clash on AVTV.

    17th Mar 2011

    By Paul Brown

Gerard Houllier stressed his players have a "commitment and will to win" ahead of the big derby match with Wolves.

Houllier spoke passionately about the desire and drive of his players to surge up the top-flight table with a series of victories, starting on Saturday.

The manager insists morale is high ahead of a vital run-in, despite two players - Richard Dunne and James Collins - being disciplined this week for an incident at a team getaway.

He said: "Richard and James have been disciplined. The club, I would say, have reacted strongly and quickly and now we move on to what is most important for us and that is the game against Wolves.

"It was a good team bonding for two days. It was a good atmosphere. It is just a shame two players spoilt a bit, the thing, but it was a part, it was not spoiling the whole thing. It was more an incident.

"The second thing is the whole week has been characterised by the fact everyone has trained well with good spirit, good commitment and great energy and also great enjoyment - the best way to prepare for a very important game.

"In terms of commitment, energy, enjoyment, the team have trained extremely well.

"There are nine games now and all will be played with the same qualities of commitment and will to win.

"We know what is at stake and we know it is a very important game for us. At the same time I said to the players 'forget what is at stake, but focus on how to get there.'"

Houllier also revealed that Dunne [shoulder] and Collins [calf] will both miss the derby match through injury while Ciaran Clark [suspension] and Luke Young [calf] are also out.

Regardless of who he chooses to play at the back, Houllier is confident of a positive response.

He added: "This sort of thing happens to all the clubs, it happened even to Manchester United.

"Sometimes you have an injury crisis. We had that in the middle of the season with long-term problems, with Stiliyan, Nigel and Steve. Now it has happened at the back but we will be 11 and we will be alright.

"I can tell you the options we have will be good and they will respond positively. I think they will show."

Houllier was speaking as he addressed the media at Bodymoor Heath ahead of the match against Wolves.

  8. I downloaded inception last night..i watched 25 mins of it then turned it off..really cant see what the fuzz is about..

Perhaps if you watch the whole film you could actually comment a little further.

A LOT of people have said things along these lines.

"Turned it off after half an hour. Don't see what all the fuss was about"

Is there some sort of trend being set?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying no-one could dislike Inception.

But to turn off a film after 25 minutes it woudl have to be awful. And I mean Son of the Mask, Epic Movie, 8 Legged Freaks bad.

I mean I guess if most people have sat down to watch a film, even if it's bad or average, they still carry on watching it to the end most of the time.

I don't believe that this many people are so appauled or so bored after 25 minutes of Inception that they've turned it off.

I think it's a case of "Everyone likes this so I'm going to hate it, regardless"

(Note: I am not referring to anyone in particular, before everyone starts calling me out. I'm just saying there seems to be a trend)

As with anything when a film gets a set amount of attention by more than your usual film geek friend, people are keen to see and usually disappointed.

I personally think Inception is a fine film and its script should have gotten more praise for guiding the viewer through a quite complex story line; has some great performances in it too.

But it doesn't hold up to closer examination and is therefore a very well made 'popcorn' flick as it were. When you have films like Transformers 2 which makes less sense than Inception and not on purpose, you have to say that Inception is pretty good for the masses.

I'd rather films like it making shit loads of cash that some of the shit thats shipped out these days.

  10. Get Fat Sam to repcae him for now. he'd have this team playing with more fight and passion than this old fool has them playing. and atleast he might have the brains to bring in the proper coaching staff. unlike GMAC and Sid.

Jesus not this again, Fat Sam should be no where near VP.

If we had him we'd be doing better than we are now, GH should be no where near Villa park either. useless crap manager like him.

Then when Fat Sam is shit on to the next one that you'll want.

You do understand that things take time?

Well obviously you dont because you wanted O'Neill out after a few months as well.

    Laughable.
