Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce will try to tempt Norwich City into parting with Robbie Brady by offering former Canaries target Ross McCormack in exchange.

Given that Norwich were very keen to sign McCormack last summer I actually have a slight bit of hope in this rumour. Would be great business for us and would see McCormack move along quietly forgotten about before he does any more damage to his reputation as a clinical Championship goal scorer.

Brady needs a change of scenery, his work rate and ability to cross the ball are enough to justify his move. I think he'd fit in nicely.

This swap does seem too good to be true however.

  2. “I have a feeling that he might go to Everton,” he said. “I don’t know, I don’t speak to Tom, but I just get the feeling knowing that he lives in a good distance from Everton’s training ground.

“I think Martinez likes him. I think he will suit their style of play. He is a very good footballer, he likes to get forward, he likes to score goals, he is very good in possession.”

So Scholes is coming out with all this based on the location of Cleverley's house?....and neglecting the fact that his career has been revived under Sherwood and also how Cleverley said to the press after the West Ham game how happy he is at Villa, and how money isn't the main motivator but instead his happiness as a footballer is. I can't see Cleverley playing for any other club than Villa next season and I hope I'm right.

  3. Jack should play for England instead of a team who's hopes are usually placed in the hands of a 34 year old player who's well past his best and living in Beverly Hills.

I dream of a successful Irish team which includes Grealish...but if I was him I'd play with England where there is a much greater potential for success and a constant inflow of talent to team.

On an aside, he's going to score the winner in Wembley ;)

  4. I've previously done a variation of GVT with sets of 6 x 12 instead of 10 x 10....found it to be very effective for gaining mass and the workouts were so intense I was also burning a lot of calories..strength wise I didn't make huge progress though but I would still recommend it.

However, currently doing a Push/Pull/Legs routine which includes heavy, medium and light weight exercises and is a 6 day split. It is without a doubt the most effective workout programme I have followed! It's such an ideal programme for maintaining, and even increasing, strength while on a cut. But the medium and light weight exercises also give a full look  of mass to the muscles too with Summer on the way!

  5. Feel like it was the same old same old against a top 4 team. The team gave a good effort and didn't make it easy for City, but the silly mistakes led to a bad result.. Seems to happen too often where a good Villa performance is overshadowed by silly errors against a top 4 team. Promising performance all the same and Everton or West Ham will not be looking forward to visiting Villa Park.

This icing on the cake term is a load of bull anyway. Its as good as saying, "when the players become a winning team, we can then risk someone with technical ability back into the squad."

I agree completely, I never understood his icing on the cake logic. I guess we probably won't see Gil on the pitch until the Burnley game if we're 100% safe by then!

  7. When Sherwood talks about his "icing on the cake" players Gil is the first name that comes to mind for most of us. Surely he'll at least get in the squad for what can only be described as an "icing on the cake" cup?
