  1. When he arrived it was in November, which left him no time to make any signings or do anything constructive to stop the team from being relegated.

How can you say that ? November is only 3 months into a 9 month season with a transfer window inbetween ?

  2. ....Don't remember many players wanting to leave the Blues under McLeish, seems a very popular guy, from what I can gather.

Deserves a chance, and any guy willing to take all the flak, would suggest a strong character to me.

as for the negative football tag, most managers with poor players play negative football.....it kinda follows like night follows day.

    Make that 4.

  3. ....McLeish is nailed on, get used to it..... put all the nonesense behind you and get behind him.

Ok Ok you made your point you want McLeish we've all read your last 3 posts. Now go to beddy byes and have sweet dreams about his ginger balls .

  4. I'm struggling to believe this is really happening! It's like finding out your hot wife who has always been faithful, has been shagging a dole scrounging fat bastard with no hair and teeth, and she tells you she's going to move in with him.

    Surely this can't happen.

For the 1st time tonight I've actually managed to break a smile and have a chuckle - For that I thank you..

  5. If Mcleish is appointed, I will support him as Aston Villa boss, because my dislike for him cannot overshadow my love for this football club.

I love my Wife but If she starts shagging the milkman I'll get me 2 bottles of semi skimmed from the CO-OP instead.

So you'll go support someone else?

Yeah because that's how football works doesn't it ?? I'm unhappy with the board and the interview there going to conduct with Mcdoodle so I'll be supporting Man City tomorrow because I've heard they got loads of money, some good players and there an up and coming team...

  7. General - For all his faults Mr Ellis would never have done this to us.. Why, because you Yanks are passing ships and Mr Ellis Is Villa through and through.

I'd like to share this picture with you Gen.

It's a view from the North Stand that the remaining supporters will see on matchdays.

Any thoughts before you sign off this message board forever ?

  8. I'm getting my coat and off to VP, I really fancy a tear up. The last time I felt like this was when my Mom told me my Nan had died.. I feel Ill.

Even if we don't appoint him I'm finished with the board and all at AVFC - YOUR A **** DISGRACE !!!

  9. Well my friend is best mates with a blues director and he has informed me that Mcleish will be revelaed as the new manager on Thursday, how true this is ? is anybodys guess, but more than likely more B.S.

    Really ?!?

I'm off down the bookies as that sounds concrete enough for me if you mates got friends on the BCFC board..

  10. FACTS.

Liverpool last season took from 3rd of June to 30th of June (4 weeks) to replace Benitez

Fulham (look how quick they are this season bla bla bla)... took from 30th June to 29th JULY (4 weeks) to get a new manager.

I dont remember them clubs getting this amount of stick.

You've missed Chelski and Cardiff from the season - Both been longer than us.

  11. Hi General,

Have the staff in the ticket office had some sort of training in trying to talk supporters out of cancelling there season tickets?

The reason I ask is, I phoned the ticket office this morning to ask how I go about cancelling my season ticket I've just renewed for the 14th consecutive season if we were to appoint AM as the 1st payment has left my account this morning. The sale chap on the other end was absolutely brilliant in trying to convince me not to do anything stupid on the basis of pure speculation and to await the outcome of the appointment, which I'll obviously do anyway. His manor was as if he was reading directly from a piece of paper in front of him? When i asked him if there had been others like me in enquiring or cancelling there season ticket he politely replied.. "Lets just say the phones haven't stopped ringing"

Does this worry you General and are the ticket office staff being briefed on what to say to fans looking to cancel season tickets?

  12. I can feel the hope in your statement. We will all wake up tomorrow from our nightmare, tune into sky sports, and see Moyes with PF gleaming back at us from the screen.

Then we will all be happy bunnies again 8)

And on that note I'm off to bed...

  13. Just a thought but what would people think if we'd appointed McLeish from Rangers when he'd just beaten O'Neill's Celtic to the title on the last day (was it 2004?) with pretty much the same resources as O'Neill had if not less.

I'm not on the wind up here - just trying to see something positive in this appointment if it happens.

Actually, if you look through AM's wikipedia entry it does make for interesting reading. As I'm an eternal optimist, I thought it might be worth pointing out the following positive things from AM's managerial career to date:

Motherwell: Finished runners up to Rangers in his first season (worth noting that they finished 6th last season)

Hibernian: Couldn't prevent them from being relegated in 1998, got them back up on first attempt, 2000-2001 finished 3rd in the table and reached the final of the Scottish cup (worth noting that they finished 10th last season)

Rangers: Won the Scottish cup and Scottish league cup in his first season, won the domestic treble in his second season, lost a few top players the next season so failed to win anything but won the title again the season after, took Rangers into the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time ever, went on to take them to the last 16 (furthest a Scottish side has got since 1993).

Scotland: Recorded a famous victory against France and came incredibly close to qualifying for Euro 2008

Birmingham: Arrived too late to avoid relegation in his first season, got them back up on the first time of asking, won the league cup in his third season but couldn't prevent the team from being relegated due to having an injury plagued squad.

Now, i'm not exactly pro-McLeish, but I think he has a pretty decent CV and if the last club was anyone other than Birmingham I doubt there would be such significant protest against his appointment. I know his teams have played shit football in the past, but he's never managed a side that has decent attacking players, and I'd be interested to see how he sets the side up here given some of the players we have available.

At the very least i'm willing to give him a chance, he's not exactly a hardcore bluenose after all, he only managed them for a couple of seasons. This might turn out to be a good appointment.

Just admit FFS you want him to be our next manager - Grow some balls man you been positive about him all night. It's plain and simple you want him just admit it.. It's an open forum and your entitled to your opinion..

To you and Big Ek my friend..
