I know this happened the other day but never saw anything mentioned on here but the legend that is Mr. Peter Withe, has become one of the Legends on BBC WM for the Franksy football phone in.

Something's happening, I've been at the ground most of the afternoon and lamberts been down the tunnel on his phone for almost the entire time ive been here.

I wish i took a photo now but was standing next to the pitch by the tunnel at the end of the game once all the fans had gone and there was about 50 flags in and around the tunnel area. What a waste of money.

Agree, but I have gone into other Kop ends before & not been quiet either but I was friendly even when someone was getting upset at me cheering.

Going in the home end and cheering your own team? Not gonna be a fun night for this guy regardless of the result.

I just think its ridiculous id pay £30 for villa v arsenal when you can have a season ticket for one of the best teams in the world bayern munich for under 150 pound full adult. I just feel sorry for fans who go every week and are bankrolling these players who do little or nothing for this club and a vast amount who are totally woeful.

You staying at home watching on sky is doing more to bankroll the players than the fans who go to the games. A lot more money in TV rights than ticket sales.

The clap was planned for Astle but as expected, some probably misunderstood the situation. There were certainly Astle is the King chants in the Smethwick at the time of the applause.

I don't talk about what i do on here Liam (I've posted stuff previously and people at clubs read the forums and i got into trouble at work over it), but i'm at the Hawthorns quite often.

Yes i was, I wasn't there as a fan i was working.

It was coming from the bottom end of the smethwick next to the villa fans. There wasn't that many singing it but definitely were, i can understand if you didn't hear that. But pretty much the whole ground was clapping in the 8th minute theres no denying that.

i was sitting in between the smethwick and the west and it definitely did.

I think it would start off ok, then drop a bit, then later in the season we would pick up again if we were doing well in the league.

There was no 8 minute clap. There was a clap in the 9th minute in memory of Jeff Astle as it was 11 years since his unfortunate passing.

So i just imagined the clapping in the 8th minute of the game and people singing ' 8-0 to the chelsea boys' in the smethwick?

Also the 8 minute clap thing was embarassing. Was funny when it was drowned out by the obsessed with villa chant!

I know what you mean and I agree, but after the atrocious, simple, glaring misses against Southampton and Bradford that deserves a facepalm.

I think that if he had a better midfield supplying him he would be getting a lot more chances, thus scoring more and we wouldnt even remember the misses against southampton and bradford (although they were bloody awful!)

No they didn't, They did mention that there would be a round of applause in the 19th minute (at which point a few fans started booing, a small minority might i add) then in the 19th minute there was a little bit of booing and jeering where i was positioned (in the corner between smetwick and west stand) didn't see any baggies fans clapping.
