  1. I think people are being harsh on Baker. He is playing out of position and is horribly exposed by having N'Zog in front of him rather than luxury of Herd protecting him like Lowton does. I think he would actually make a better centre back partnership with Vlaar than Clark does.

This has been shocking, only one who comes out with any credit for me is Herd. Goal or not I was wondering where KEA was most of the game.

  2. Is this the same Vlaar who played at the back for Holland and had a complete shocker at the Euro's?

The same competition where Nicklas Bendtner actually played well?

Point on tournament football noted. I would say that big strikers (Klose for example) tend to over-perform/do well in tournament football though I admit that may be subjective.

I didn't rate him either time I saw him, even if its two games in tournament football I'd still be concerned. The dutch problem at the tournament (other than not capitalising on chances) was an incredibly shaky back line that look to concede on the few occasions their opposition came forward.

  3. He looked much better at right back that left back in my opinion. He was slightly more comfortable defensively at right back, but there isn't much in it... the major difference was he actually offered something going forward at right back, presumably because the ball was played onto his stronger side, but seemed uncomfortable doing so at left back.

I don't think he will pull up any trees like Walker did but I do think he can be a very solid player for us if given the chance. I think that chance revolves around whether Hutton leaves.

  4. Assume the Russian grannies will win ?

:lol: My god they are terrible, typical eurovision stuff though so I can see why their favourites.

I don't see us winning (obviously, too unpopular) but we may benefit from the fact all the songs after were similar and not that good.

  5. What a joke, what annoys me is how stupid are the people interviewing him.. How many times in the last few weeks has he said he is "shouldering the blame for the players", why in every interview isn't anyone asking "If you are shouldering the blame why are you telling me its their fault?".

As for not being a bad manager overnight, he is right, it started at Rangers.

  6. Didn't Commoli sign Carroll and Henderson for Liverpool? Last thing we need is more waste of ££££..

Yeah that is the one. He was also at Spurs, on the back on Jol guiding them to two top 5 finishes Comolli was involved (and rumoured to take control of transfers) and spent something like 40m. Spurs subsequently sacked Jol and flirted with the relegation for the majority of the season.

Bottom line - Comolli would be as big a disaster as keeping McLeish.

Wasn't Commoli responsible for spurs signing bale, huddlestone, lennon, walker, naughton etc...

Whilst I agree that he spends money it is has been spent on some quality...would still require Mc to be sacked and a more tactical manager to take advantage of the players' ability

I'm fairly certain that Walker and Naughton at least would have been after his time. I'd have though Lennon and Huddlestone would have been before but I'm not an expert. I wouldn't dispute that he probably did make/ influence a few good signings but where ever he has been money has been spent with very little return. I think if you look at his exits from clubs its fair to say he may be disruptive too.
