The 'afford' bit might be interesting - the wages he'll want will certainly be high, but I'm guessing that the Everton board might accept an offer that's on the cheap side of pretty reasonable. Given your difficulties with FFP and the peculiarities of your ownership situation, there will definitely be a temptation to cash in on an asset or two this summer in order to give Lampard some sort of funding in the transfer market - I wouldn't be too surprised to see Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin shopped around as a book balancing exercise.

One of them will deffo go if not both, yes our inept board have put us in this terrible situation, i would sell Calvert-Lewin in a heartbeat but I'm not sure who would buy him for the fee we will want.

Teams like Everton, Villa, Newcastle......are clubs that are positioned in terms of Status, by how the club is run, and the potential that prospective new recruits perceive them to have.....We all know they are big clubs, steeped in history.

Last season for all 3 of us was poor, with only Newcastle, showing any signs of real recovery, after January.......under Gerrard we would have finished 9th, if you extrapolate the season out......your team just escaped, like we did 2 seasons ago.

3 big clubs that will attract most players, when they are run right.........and being run right, might get us all in to the European places......that is the thinking of new prospects.

Its up to any new recruits as to how they see the various projects sold to them, and if they believe in the future plans.....That's what encourages them to sign.

Its up to us all, to change our perceived profile......but its no good either, putting ourselves down.

Mate don't put Newcastle anywhere mine or your club in terms of size and stature they are a nothing club not even close to Everton or Villa.

The last time they won the FA cup was 1955 and the last time they won the league 1927. (95 years ago haha)

I laugh when geordies try to create a rivalry with us.

Just speaking hypothetically how many CL clubs would be in a position to buy Richarlison?

Difficult to think of many outside of PL who would have the finances available to buy him. Are Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool or City going to buy him?

So if he wants to leave Everton for a new challenge after 4/5 yrs he’ll probably have to pick the project he believes in most.

I would say the only club in PL who could possibly want him and afford him is Man U but they cant offer him CL football just yet.

The board shouldn’t have sanctioned it if they planed to sack Rafa a week later 🤣😂.  Many say that, but Kamara is 22, we have one of the youngest squads in the Premier League, Jacob Ramsey  nominated for PFA young player of the season , Tim Iroegbunam (18) made his full debut vs Norwich, Carney Chuckwemeka (18) featured this season,  Cameron Archer scored 4 goals in cup matches, we have and abundance of young quality players, and have invested heavily in the academy which also resulted in winning the FA youth cup last season a competition that had been dominated by the likes of City and Chelsea for the last 10 years.

Thats the problem with our board they sanctioned it without a thought of sacking Benitez!

Yes but the same could and probably was said about, Coutinho, Carlos and Kamara all 3 could have easily gone to a CL club in-fact all three were already at CL clubs,  I don’t think we will be in for him anyway, we already have 10 goals per season forwards at the club, but it’s not far fetched to say we could buy him if we wanted, I mean we bought Dinge off you , one of your best players , and you had El Ghazi a fringe Villa player,  it’s not that Everton is not a big club it’s not that your current manager is clueless, it’s the sheer and utter incompetence of you Board that worries me and I wouldn’t put anything past them.

You bought Digne of us for one reason and one reason only!  Benitez, if another manager had been at us we would of still had Digne.

Yes our board are shambolic at best but like i said even if we accepted an offer Richarlison would refuse.

Buying players from CL clubs like the 3 you mentioned is how we are in the situation were in, one big fat payday that's all, i may be wrong but yous seem to be going down the road we went down. You will have ageing players on big money with no resale value.

Gerrard is buying for the here and now, if it pays off then great if he doesnt it could leaves yous in a right mess

why would any player do anything?

    See the source image

there's no such thing as "loves the club", footballers are all the same

FWIW i dont think villa will make an offer, this is all silly season guff, but if we have an offer accepted then he will either come to villa or get a huge new everton deal, either way he'll get paid

Yes of course money is involved in his decision but he will either be an Everton player or playing in the CL whether that be in this league or another.

Maybe we'd take them seriously if they could show us all the trophies they got for finishing 8th for 20 years, which seems to be the source of their smugness.

Haha take us seriously! And yet some Villa fans think they have a chance of signing Richarlison.

Honestly and i mean no disrespect here why would Richarlison leave Everton for Villa? The fact is he wont in the same way Watkins wouldn't leave Villa for Everton.

Its clear for everyone to see he loves the club he is at but he wants to win things and play in the CL. He will only move from us to a club who's in a position to offer him that immediately and that's not Villa.

You might make an offer the club accept but the player would refuse as he still has 2 years left on his contract.

  8. Everton fan here in peace!

Not here to point score about our/your history (which i believe we are very similar clubs in size and stature)

Just want to get a feeling about the links to Richarlison?
