Jordan James, only nineteen but already has ninety-five Championship appearances, and ten caps for Wales, box-to-box midfielder, good all rounder, been consistently linked with Palace for those that like their recruitment, also nearly joined Atalanta in January who I think also have a good rep for recruitment, wouldn't be too expensive either, as is moving into the last year of his contract, and they will probably have to settle for less being a League One team now

Holy hell wouldn’t that ruffle a few feathers 🤣🤣

    GET THIS KID!! Lol

Exactly this.  Kamara isn't a straight up DMC - he's good on the ball, got a good pass on him and is able to resist the press very well.  I think we need another player just like him (or very similar).  This gives us immediate cover - and hopefully we'll have enough football to keep everyone happy.  But more to the point it means that there will be matches / situations where it makes sense to play a trio like you suggest - who can protect our defensive line better and still transition the ball quickly and effectively to ensure that we are a major threat following a breakdown.  It is all about options and giving us as much balance as possible.  We've tried Luiz / McGinn as a central two for far too long - they're both excellent players playing in completely the wrong position at the moment.  The more we can keep them in their right positions the better.

Matar Sarr would’ve been perfect for this role. Pity we didn’t push harder for him. Emery would’ve done wonders for the lad.

Apologies for the typo, but you talking about goal difference, going level etc is wrong.

On Saturday City win, they go 2 points ahead of Arsenal. On Sunday Arsenal lose.

City go into the Spurs game with the chance to win the title by going 5 points ahead with one game remaining the following weekend.

    Don’t be silly….all good.
yes totally get your drift and do agree that it’s highly unlikely that they don’t keep their foot on the pedal.

All hearsay anyway brother, it’ll all be over by Monday 🥳🥳

This makes no sense. If Arsenal lose Sunday and City have already won, City are 2 points ahead. Beat Spurs and they win the league. By your logic they would for some reason take it easy?

City has a game in hand. There’s only a +6 goal difference. Hypothetically speaking city pump Fulham 4 nil, Arse lose 1 nil to city  that total is gone with City only needing a draw against Spuds to be even on points and only a goal behind. Could back themselves to swing that goal by beating Spam.
TBF I still think that City will terrorise Spuds but it makes sense

Here's hoping that they play angeball against Man City next week

Ange is too stubborn to change how he’s been playing all season just for 1 game I think Benny.
if  there’s one team that rips open a high press it’s City. They’re not dropping the title at Spuds home and I’ll be surprised if they’re closer than 3 goals tbh.
understand everyone’s hesitation and fear but if there’s one team you’re relying on to get you over the line it’s City. That’s not even taking into account that their 4 peat relies on it.
    we got this.

Spurs 4 losses were against Newcastle A, Arsenal H, Chelsea A, Liverpool A... most teams in the league would lose these 4 games one after another.... Spurs form is poor last 4 games but the difficulty of thie fixtures is not being considered in this poor form...

Most teams yes brother but not a team that’s running 5th in the league and ahead of two of the teams they lost two.

i think too much is looked into here. Of course its not their preference, but they wouldnt want to throw the game and the players will 100% not want them to throw the game. Even if the fans did not like it, it would make 0 difference to Ange and the players.

This is why I said it’s imperative that Arse beats Manure first to put the acid on City. If Arse stumble against Manure it’s title gone before they play Spuds. Hopefully Peps and Emery’s friendship helps him in persuading Pep to go for the jugular hahaha

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's not how Pep goes about things if i'm honest

Especially with Emery and Pep being mates.
I think they’ll be some phone calls prior to the match begging and offering free Paella lunches if he wins

The challenge is that this profile - physical CDM who is also progressive and can play in a posession style Unai wants - is exceedingly rare. It's probably the only position as scarce as an all around CF.

And even if there is someone who fits the profile, you'll be sure that players in on the target list of a lot of other squads. Caicedo cost 100M and he's a physical counter presser but not a natural 6 who can drop in the line and has made his share of terrible mistakes in possession. Spurs have Sarr and Hojbjerg but ask Spurs fans about them and their reviews are less than complimentary. Palhinha at Fulham was targeted by Bayern but was anyone impressed when Watkins stole the ball off several times?

That's why I think people will be disappointed by some of the CM names we will be linked with because I think Unai will still prefer a ball playing CM over a purely defensive CDM.

The dream would be a defensive CDM who is also progressive but that list is short and expensive.

I like the breakdown and interpretation. So based on what you’ve said what targets come to mine? Any that you suggest fit this mould?

i really can't see them beating Citeh and I would be shocked if they even got a point.

    Hi John,

Many people are saying the above but Spurs against the odds have done really well againgst Citeh at WHL in recent years. I am nowhere near as confident as most that Citeh will beat them.

I seriously think we need another win!

True but not under Ange playing the style they do and his persistence with applying the same philosophy under any circumstances. They’ll get absolutely torched by City put my house on it. If Liverpool did what they did to them imagine the field day Foden, Rodri, Doku and Haaland are going to have!! Relax people City aren’t losing the title with a shit performance to Spuds.

We were in title contending form first half of the season without Ramsey and Luiz was probably our most important player to achieving that. We are in the top 4 this season despite Ramsey playing very little due to injuries. Luiz has been poo in the last couple of months but that doesn’t take away how important he is to this team when he’s on form which he has been the majority of the time in the last 18 months.

I don’t think fans will agree on this though so it will come down to opinion.

Totally understand he’s important but the two games he was out Tielemans and SJM played together better and he wasn’t missed. In fact the two games he’s back we’ve lost. I just believe if we’re going to sell anyone it should Dougie as he’s replaceable which most won’t like hearing.
suicide selling Ramsay atm and having Dougie money to buy say Fofana and Dumfries is a no brained.

    again everyone’s opinion will differ.

City will still need to win that game just as much as Spurzzz do, as Arsenal are still in the hunt for the title.

We really need Arse to beat Manure to really put pressure on City. Then I think they’ll hammer them. Even a draw will do with their goal difference. Hopefully Arse keeps the foot down and doesn’t have a game where they’re off.

  13. I truly don’t know we lost that? We have so much more skill, flair, talent and everyone can tell we’re the better side just every little thing went wrong.
tbh I’m not worried. If Maccabi bloody Haifa can beat them 4-1 at home so can we. I think we’re well and truly still in this. First goal there and they’ll start shutting themselves.

130am and I can't sleep, in my time as a Villa fan we have made 2 FA cup finals and 2 league cup finals yet this match feels like the biggest one for me in my time.

Maybe because we are the favourites and that winning this competition is a real possibility, maybe because it's European trophy and despite this being the 3rd tier in Europe it holds some allure to me...

Whatever the reason it doesn't look like I'm getting anymore sleep tonight. Please Villa put in a performance that makes all this worth it!

Uppa Brother!! Just get out of bed, crack a frosty and watch a few podcasts, old videos and get in the mood. Not much longer yewwww!!
