Well, we weren't the first club to expect to overrun a newly promoted side! Take a look at Arsenal vs Brentford!
Saturday we face a potential big club (to our advantage managed by Mr Defend All Game Bruce), forget about Watford - it happens, we have a team that still needs to Gel.
It may take a few games, but when we have so many new starters who have never played together, they need time.
Don't you realise that they are embarrassed by the last result after all of the press activity they have generated. They will come together and we will be on the up!
One loss means nothing when you are still in training.
Are Man City and Grealish writing off their season after two defeats?

Mings without doubt, every time you watch him he is direct and vocal in his guidance! I know he fluffs up occasionally - but dont we all!

Who is our Withe? Buendia?
They are all potentially 'Peter Withe' future Villa heroes!

I know I have posted this in response to another thread - but I think it deserves more focus! Well here it is:
But to me it seems quite clear - That's it's all just a little bit of history repeating.
(To the tune of Shirley Bassey)Back in September 1979 our Talisman Andy Gray left us for a British record fee of £1.49 Million to join our rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves overspent and ended up in deep financial trouble and were relegated to the second division. Almost ruined!
Using that money Villa rebuilt and replaced him with Peter With and co. We won the league 80/81 and the European cup 81/82.
Move forward 42 years
Our Talisman Jack Grealish leaves August 2021leaves us for a British record fee of £100 Million to join up with Manchester City. After buying Kane as well they are finding themselves having overspent. They are in financial trouble and get relegated through mismanagement.
Villa however invest this record fee in several top quality new team members and are again playing the best football seen at Villa Park for years. The following season we win the premiership and the following league we win the UEFA Champions league!

This match has been shamefull for us since 2015.
But guess what since 2015 we have been less than good (Cr*p) - until now.
Let this weekend be the turning point for us to reach our Bright Future. Sir Elton can't help them any more!

Well there we go.
If we had Grealish right now, I’d be absolutely buzzing for the new season. A front 4 of Grealish, Buendia, Bailey and Watkins is up there with the best in the league and would have seen us really compete.
Buendia, Bailey, Ings and Watkins just isn’t at that level because Grealish is a world class talent and whilst Ings is a very good player, he doesn’t have that creative spark that Jack does (nobody does).
Like I say, everything points to us doing more business this summer and not just in the defensive midfield position. Colomosse, who has been bang on the money this window, says we’re after an attacking and a defensive midfielder and that’s exactly what we’ll buy (in my opinion).
We are but little minnows in a little Canal, that feeds into a little stream that feeds a river, that flows into a lake, that empties into a sea, that runs into an Ocean! Of course Purslow and top management knew Jack was going. The new signings were purchased to replace him, and they clearly stated.
They analysed that Villa could not rely on the creativity of one player and brought in three that would balance out his skills

In my honest opinion, watching the Euros. As soon as I watched the Danes, I thought my god! That Damsgaard is good. Wish the Villa would go in for him!
A month later there are links to him. Sign him now!

You're probably right. Hopefully our two Argentinians can sell him the benefit of Brum over Milan
Remember Ossie Ardiles and Ricardo Villa signing for Spurs (Before the Falklands War) Tottenham were hot to trot! So yes 2 Argentines are going to do wonders for us!

I was lucky enough to be taken to the Villa by my Skinhead mates (BTW I'm half Asian and my crew was non racist) in Erdington to Villa Park in 1981, as a young lad I had followed Villa - Deehan, Andy Gray, Frank Caradous, Dennis Mortimer, Allen Evans, Legend Gary Shaw etc..
Won the league cup after 2 replays against Everton in 77, watched Graydon dive and hand ball to save us against Norwich.
But 81 was my year, went to every home game, too little to travel away. How many football fans in their lifetime can say they witnessed their team win the league - I'm so lucky!
To top it off, my team won the European cup the following year! Many season tickets later, a couple of relegations, a few years of Nearly - but not quite. My team is now showing ambition, all of the recent signings are pointing to our owners having a belief that we deserve to be back up at the top, OK maybe not winning everything but at least competing.
Like many others I have been watching the news and reading reports about our captain - Super Jack!
It is out of our control, TBH Villa would be stupid to turn down £100 million for a single player, but I hop in my heart that Jack is as passionate about the Villa as I am. Why go to City (nothing, no history club) when he can achieve Honours at the club that runs through his veins! Did Rooney feel good when he kissed the Man U badge running up to the Everton crowd after scoring for Utd?

I may be an old fart but didn't the brothers have a band together and released a song called Tubthumping in 1998?
