true enough mate...but at least if I was a cop ..i'd simply ask 'em to point to Armenia on a map..Its easy to get outraged for the sake of it.
I honestly know nowt about the situation...but I wouldn't spend a grand and a two day journey and risk it on something I knew nowt about.
Fair play to any fan who understands the situation and is doing it for something they think is is right....not many of them tho' I reckon.
It also says something about the whole fiasco when 2 "big" clubs send so many tickets back....

There's some knee jerk reactions on here
Only way to watch football mate....Live in the moment...Villa are having a great one now....enjoy it...
I decided a long time ago to treat watching Wednesday as simple theatre....Its the best way..It keeps you sane...or somewhere near it...
I get emotional first game of any season when the blue and white stripes trot out...can't join in the first songs cos ive got a lump in me throat...Dunno whether its cos ive survived another year...or those useless f.ookers have..bloody baffling emotions...after that..I just take what comes....go mental at a goal...knowing damn well theres an equaliser comin'..but not for the next 40 seconds or so...
("Actually thats not true ..its f.ookin' happened)
But you know what I mean

Good Lord almighty...You need to get a bloody therapist in at Villa park...
"So many years???
what is it 2 years ....3?
Honest mate...just enjoy it...back where you should be....
Theres nowt wrong with having a bit of hubris for a couple of years...stops you being like a f.ookin' Arsenal fan....
Villa fans in my experience have never had the same self entitlement as some other "big" clubs..cos they have been through the mill before
Now don't get me started...2 sodding decades of watching garbage...
Do you know..me lads 30 now....and I took him on his first away game in the LDV vans trophy....carlisle ..in sodding January...
Carlisle fans were singing
"You're not famous anymore"
Wednesday fans were perplexed cos the vast majority couldn't actually remember when we were famous!
So we just kept singin'
"Ive got a shed as big as this"

Although... I still feel kinda empty!! No idea why. I was happy when the whistle went.. but now I'm just like.. "ok"..
Am I broken?
Nah..Its gonna hit you later..Its a self protection thingy......
When Lineghan scored a last second winner against us in the cup final in '93...I got on the coach to head home all calm and resigned .....
The wife said I woke up at 3am ..screamed
"you bast*rd lineghan"...then went straight back to sleep
I still sometimes shout it in Morrisons

Dean Smith thank you for bringing that feeling back!!
Bloody hell supermom!...You need to come up to The Wednesday....I burst into tears ever f.ookin' 20 minutes!!!
Nah seriously I know...I can cope with relegations...losing at Wembley etc...
but on the odd occasion we ever do owt...I'm an absolute pathetic melt

El Ghazi, Hourihane, McGinn, Mings, Tuanzebe. All I thought were excellent. The rest not too far behind, I don't think anyone had a bad game today. So proud of them all.
El Ghazi for me...He was a threat throughout...I mean the last 15 minutes you can write off...cos once a 2 goal lead gets halved...every bugger plays like that.
I honestly thought Villa would run away with it after the second goal, Derby were not coping...

So happy to be back where we belong!
Agree...
Its sorta set a template for us next season...
Get bruce to sign the players
Give him half a season...
Go to greengrocers
Hire a Wednesday fan
Win play offs
Its bloody dead simple really....I'm surprised we havent stumbled on it before lol

Congratulations Villa...sorry to see you go
Best way to do it..Get out of here as quick as possible, as I enter the 20th sodding year of it FFS!..Still I'm not bitter....... (much)
I suppose Steve Gibson will just have Us and Frank lampard F.C to sue now.
You deserved it...bet the last 15 minutes were a laugh and a half though, I honestly thought you were going to get 3 or 4, ..Those 2 goal leads are a bugger.
Any road upwards, best of luck next season...I'll pop back and post when we get back
Can you get a modem for a f.ookin' Ouija board?

How did he fair at Wednesday?
Onomah?
Total jury out mate..Just didn't see enough to make a decision
I do remember a game when I'd forgot he was on the pitch tho'
Which is a bit worrying
Trouble is with Wednesday this season was...Everyone seemed under instruction to pass it to bannan...or failing that...shout
"Shoooooooot" at Adam Reach
There was no finesse..it was all rather desperate...allied to the fact Luhukay fell out with several vital players, who when brought back were very influential in the forlorn charge from relegation to playoff hopefuls that your lads scuppered at Hillsborough

I thought he showed flashes of being a very bright talent, would make a great squad player I reckon, still young and learning his trade. Scored 4 goals for us. Did Bruce sign him on loan for Wednesday?
No mate...It was the idiot before him if I recall correctly

He will be one of those players Bruce will sign wherever he manages.

He played a fair bit for us in the first half of the season but became a bit of a scapegoat when things weren’t going well. I don’t think he would have been so hated had he been our player but there was no chance he was getting another season with us.
edit: actually you summed up his time with us. Glimpses of a player but kept going missing.
don't think we can afford the risk then......signed so many wasters in the last couple of seasons its untrue..

For free or a few million yes. He’s an alright squad player learning his game.
Did he play much for Villa mate?
He has shown glimpses that theres a player there, but went missing for 20 minutes at a time....bearing in mind he wasn't the only bugger lol
-
Can't seem to start a topic, thats fair enough...
Wednesday are looking to sign Josh Onomah..i know he played a fair few games for Villa, he played about 4 for us...got injured, went back to spurs...
is he worth a punt?

Just now, Vive_La_Villa said:That isn’t going to change with Bruce in charge mate.
At least with Smith you know they are practising a passing game day in day out and he wants players that are comfortable with the ball. Less chance of them fearing it.
Mate..he can't be worse than the last one we had...Honest...
Villas expectations of Bruce are fair enough...You had recently come down, and like I was ..2 sodding decades ago...expected to be back as soon as possible...
I mean Wednesday are a big club...Villa have won a bloody European cup..How much bigger do you get?
but its different now
Its not the 70's, when I first went to Villa park in the old third division, and ive been every opportunity since, simply cos your ground reeks football, same as Hillsborough, I knew Villa would be back...Too big not too...Financed by attendances, history etc...Wednesday the same...a simple matter of time.
Its different now...and I don't want to name clubs, cos it sounds disrespectful, jealous and trite...but give me a break...I wouldn't cross the road to watch some of the teams in the Prem..Theres no history attached to it,
One Shiek of a lambs tail or wallet and theres clubs climbing the leagues..Parachute payments that simply reward abject failure...A club comes down to The Championship with £100 million...While we consider selling the bloody ground to offset FFP?
You got 40'000 at Hillsborough against bloody Wycombe wanderers as we left the 3rd division last time, We got sod all in parachute payments as we tumbled down outta the prem 20 years ago..It counts for nowt.
I'm a dinosaur...I know i am...
But I love it when clubs like yours come to Hillsborough...You look over the pitch at the scarves an' flags and hear the chants....
Then f.ookin' Burton albion tip up
i'm depressing meself now...So i'll f.ook off
Good luck lads....Sorry to see you go

Sorry..seems i'm still not allowed to plus posts...But i agree mate
We have had it for long periods with Bannan, forget what game it was this year..night match at Hillsborough, where Bannan bust a gut to keep the ball in on the by line, to carry on an attack..he ran 40 yds, slid on his ar*e to slide it to another player...flew into the hoardings, said player...passed it straight back to him while he was sat in the North stand in the disabled section FFS!...sheer lack of taking responsibility...
Ive got 20 years of these bloody ridiculous stories
Leon Clarke...some years ago , night match in February....He trotted out in gloves and a bloody snood...first thing he did was try an overhead kick, volley it into his own face... then span around 3 times looking for the ball!!
I collapsed laughing on The Eastbank,
Bloke next to me said
"why are you laughing?"
I said.."Why in the name of f.ook aren't you!?"
its heart rending, its bl;eak..its sheer black humour that keeps you going....I'm sodding 60 now...The odd glimpse of sunshine, then years of unmitigated garbage...
i treat it like a circus now...i take it all in the moment....But I can't stop going....
If it was a movie..and I knew it was crap, I knew I wasn't going to enjoy it...I wouldn't bloody go...
But come saturday, blue and white scarf on..wander down penistone Rd...and there I sit again...
screamin
"its happening again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
bloody football....Hate it!

I honestly can't see you losing, if you turn up...
I wsn't impressed with Derby at Leeds as much as everyone else seemed to be..Leeds bottled it.
all the froth about Elland Rd being intimidating?..who did it frighten?
Leeds
We've all had it..Players who haven't got the nerve playing in front of fans with expectations...Its buggered us up for going on 2 decades..Its all relative
Its Why Villa, Wednesday, leeds Man city ....struggle to get it back..You get large crowds home and away expecting the players to step up to how big the club is...
Not "how big " the fans deem it to be...Villa Wednesday , leeds are big clubs...You need players who don't give a flyer.
I have honestly seen players at Hillsborough who don't want the ball...you can see it...It can be a bearpit when things are going t*ts up..I should imagine Villa park is the same, probably worse..European cups and such....
Elland Rd was like that the other night...a couple of misplaced passes a Derby goal and you could hear the discontent..its natural for a fan...
Its bloody horrible losing in the play off final...
40'000 owls fans down there the other year...17'000 from Hull...the sheer expectation hamstrung us...We didn't turn up...should have kept bloody quiet and not bought the tickets!
