I reckon there will be a buy back clause. Wouldn’t suprise me if he went to a top 6 team and it ends up being a step too far. He then gets sold to a mid-table team.

    Hopefully us.

I disagree, he would have got a chance with Spurs if he went as they've suffered with quite a few injuries throughout the season. Really can't see him messing up being a top 6 team squad player to go to the likes of Bournemouth and be a starter. He will only improve IMO and be a top four player in the future. Hoping thats with us if we spend big and get promoted but that really is true hope lol.

Regarding the buy back clause I think Grealish would accept it but the buying club wouldnt, why would they put a 50m buy back clause for e.g when he could be worth even more than that with the ridiculous transfer market we live in (When Prices keep rising year on year).

The crappy championship referees have to take some responsibility for that too. Protect the poor lad

Agree again mate, its almost like they know hes the most fouled so they give other players an extra chance to have a kick before they release a yellow. Kieftenbeld being a prime example in the home leg last year.

Oh and that championship referees are shocking 🤬

I wouldn't say injury prone as much, he cannot help getting the shit kicked out of him nearly every game. Eventually they do take their toll.

However, I agree I also don't think I have seen a full season from him yet either.

I agree completely, this 'Injury Prone' Malarkey doesn't make sense at all.  He had a life threatening injury start of last season and as mentioned above a bone fracture from (probably) being the most kicked player in the championship. And he even still tried to play with that fracture. I'm not saying all of this helps his valuation but i think we're exaggerating massively when we say that clubs will be put off bidding for this reason.

If anything being the most fouled player in the champ (Even after missing a third of the season so far) is a plus not a minus...

that will be the highest offer we will ever get for him. He has had about 5 good games this season and been out with a long term injury again. If spurs come back in for him they will not be offering more than 15-18 million and it seems nobody else wanted him anyway. People on about getting 60 million for Grealish & Mcginn  for a mass rebuild are insane. We would struggle to get 25 million for both.

Oh hi there negative Nigel, think we need some more 'stats' from you to prove your point tbh 😂 He had about 5 good games ? So what about the rest of the team ? He was massive for us in the only good run of games we've had this season. Jacks just signed a 5 year contract, villa have won 2 in 10 without him and we rejected a 25mil bid in the summer... so hes now worth 15-18m because hes been out for 2/3 months with a bone fracture ? Makes no sense whatsoever.

We would 'Struggle' to get 25million for Mcginn and Grealish yet Dean Smith said in his press conference YESTERDAY that Jack will be like a £25million signing coming back 🤔

Spurs would only offer around half of that if anything, in my opinion. Jack may now appear to be injury prone to potential buyers. They have a new ground to pay for and I doubt they will be back in for Jack, that's great news for us. With McGinn (who I think we may be in more danger of losing) and Jack staying injury free for a season I think we might give promotion a serious shot next season, if we have not managed it this season...;)

Not sure I think that will be the case... they offered 25 in the summer and got nowhere so would need to be more.Yes he has had his fair share of injury's like everyone else but I wouldn't class him as Injury Prone tbh. Fingers crossed we wont need to get to this stage and like you say get promoted this season anyway though !

Agree 100%. The only good news about this injury is that we are likely to keep Jack for another season and that greatly increases our hopes of having a successful season next year.

Jack has had two types of luck over last and this season, bad and no. His long term injuries have also holed our promotion hopes below decks on both occasions. With him in the team on a regular basis, we would have been in serious contention for automatic promotion both seasons in my opinion. So I think that both Jack and Villa are owed a bit of luck next season.

Agree it increases our chances of promotion massively if he does stay but I sadly disagree that it will be possible. The likes of Maddison have got their move and within 6 months of prem football is now being linked to Spurs and England. Cant see them paying 50m+ or whatever ridiculous price they would want for him though. But I can see them paying 35/40 for Grealish though if he smashes it when he comes back from Injury... and I think they'll have cash to spend after not spending a penny in this whole season. Would seriously love it if he did but I cant see him staying for a fourth year in the championship and missing out on the euro's aswell ☹️ On the plus side with that money and a shrewd coach in Dean Smith we could possibly do a Norwich this year...

Breaking | Aston Villa are signing Frédéric Guilbert from Caen for €5m, but will loan him back until the end of the season

Our reliable colleague Mohamed Toubache-TER is reporting that French full-back Frédéric Guilbert is currently undergoing a medical with Championship side Aston Villa, who will loan the player back to Caen until the end of the season.

The deal will cost Villa €5m plus €1.5m in bonuses and a sell-on percentage fee clause will be included in the deal. Guilbert will sign a 4.5 year contract with Villa should the medical go to plan.

Really hope we sign another 2 aswell as this guy and Mings... media reporting we wanted 3 today.

I actually think these statistics are 100% down to Grealish and not a lot to do with Hourihane.

Hourihane plays the defensive midfield role and for the most part passes the ball to Grealish who is actively looking for the ball in the midfield, if he's not he's dragging players around to create space for Hourihane to pass to others.

When Grealish isn't playing the midfield are completely static and the job of the DM is far harder.

So true, Watched second half against wigan and the midfield was shocking. Ball was literally like a hot potato.

No-one looking to actually do something with it, just get it, panic and pass it on. Mcginn was our best player but even his creativity is limited in comparison to Grealish. I'd quite like to see Sawyers or someone to come in as an extra option for creativity and backup for when hes out.

I am not liking the vibe surrounding Tammy seems like his camp are touting him around.

Think we should move on without him, despite the loss.

We have to build a team of players who want to be at Villa....I think he has soured the relationship.

No more loans without buy back clauses.

    its becoming a circus.

Patience lol why you'd want to 'move on' when the ball looks like its now in our court is absolutely mind-boggling. Only got to wait 5 more days mate !

The other thing for Chelsea that must be taken into account is that if he gets us up there is a fair chance we will want to keep him.

Surely a bidding war is in their interest!

I'd break the bank for him. Fulham spent 100m+ and Wolves' owners loaded but they're both no NWSE. I'd be looking at bidding 25m+ should he want to stay with us. Isn't the new loan rules (Where these big clubs can only have a certain amount of players out on loan) coming in next season ? If so I think we have a very decent chance in the summer.

  11. The biggest worry for me is that it maybe a missed opportunity if he doesn't take it now. Wolves wont wait till the summer (especially if they're getting him in a £18m deal which I find incredible) they'll  probably be getting a replacement in this month irrelevant which means if he does reject them he could lose his chance of joining.

  12. Just seen Lovre Kalinic in the Birmingham Mail article stating Lovre has a 40% sell on clause written into his contract according to homeland reports... I hope thats not the case.

That could be a massive amount of money for Croatias no.1 🙄 Some really encouraging words about how badly hes wanted to join us though.

I think Nyland is fine as a goalkeeper and, thus, as a number two. He’s not great, he’s not terrible - hes incredibly average. Decent shot stopper, decent distribution, very weak on crosses and shaky handling otherwise. Kalinic will rightfully replace him, but I’m happy with him as backup.

This, however i'd argue his distribution is better than decent.

Sorry pal. I read your post after just having a run in with the courier. - My apologies for the heated reply mate. 🤚

From what I gather, Jack signed a new contract at the start of the season with a release clause after the antics of Spurs over the summer. The clause is subject to anywhere between £40-£60m (depending what you read), and wether that is needing triggered with non-promotional factor I am not too sure. I just know we won't be getting our pants pulled down on his valuation.

The contract Delph signed years ago made everyone feel he was staying.. only for days later give us a big F U and joins Man City.

Hope I explained that better this time mate.  😙

    No worries ✌️

And I assume it will be a non-promotional clause at the end of the season (If reports are believed to be true that there is one) and I agree it will be for some big money if it comes to that.

But yes i understand footballs changing dramatically and players just arent committed as they used to be to clubs. Prime e.g being Delph but I can't see Jack doing that personally.

Lets hope we don't need to worry about that and we get promoted this year anyway !

    What the ****?

Lovely twist of my post though. - Go and read it again.

Have you heard of things called transfer windows, Yes?

Jesus mate, chill out. I haven't twisted anything.

I've heard there could be a release clause in the summer (If we dont go up) hence why I didn't mention that and i agree its a possibility he could leave.

But you've mentioned it being possible in Jan and I was interested as to where you've got this information from thats all.

  16. 9 minutes ago, AvfcRigo82 said:

Sorry, but you may find that our owners won't have a say this time on Jack if Spurs did trigger his minimum release clause in January or the summer.

Signing a new contract means dust mate. Review Fabian Delph.

January ? Wheres this about him having a release clause for January ?

Fabian Delph and Jack Grealish are two very different players (Career-wise) aswell mind.
