He's a converted winger striker that has scored 2 of the 12 league goals under Emery. 7 goals scored by Luiz Buendia Bailey Ramsey Digne
I think it's less about the goals, more about how we set up tactically. The hold up play, pressing from the front and ability to draw defenders that Ollie offers is so important and I don't think we have anyone who can deputise that sufficiently. Maybe Emery thinks Duran can but it's pretty bold to only have a 19 year old as backup. I don't think we really have good cover for Bailey in the second striker role either. 3 forwards for 2 spots, with one being a 19 year old who's not played in a top league, seems quite the gamble.

Whilst I get the mantra of waiting for the right player at the right price, I think you have to consider the position the squad is in. I really struggle to see how a bad injury to Watkins doesn't completely derail the rest of our season.

Can we please not wait till the summer for a striker

I think it's easy to say with hindsight that we should have played a stronger side; Emery is still getting to know the players, and if you can't play premier league back ups against a league 2 side, when can you play them? That team should have more than enough quality to win comfortably.

Unbelievable we will get nothing from this. Really got to think Ings should start over Ollie

Has everyone who had a meltdown when we were 1 down, calmed down now?

How is that a foul

Is it possibly telling that Cuts was let go given that he had say in keeper signings and Olsen was signed under him - a good shot stopper possibly, but not the kind of keeper Emery would want to purchase, or presumably that his goalkeeping coach would want to train?

I look forward to getting back and finding this thread boosted by 20 odd pages of people waxing lyrical about his genius.

That was never a foul by Bailey.
Tripper diving at his feet, how could it possibly be a foul.

Wow, seems like he has paid the buy out clause himself to make the move happen!
I think that's how it has to be done in Spain. I don't know if it's the same for managers but for players, the club gives the player the money to pay their own release clause. I imagine it's the same for managers
