Seen something about Gareth Ainsworth being talked to, Wycombe Wanderers manager?

Could someone shed some light as I know nothing about him.

I've heard that he isn't exactly an advocate of good football. He's been known to be quite negative, and has always set Wycombe up as a negative team. Always diving/time wasting/persistently fouling.

Things may have changed last year as he got them promoted but I don't think he'd be a fans favourite.

I believe there is\was a plan for not getting promoted.

I would guess that involved sacking Bruce and cutting back selling the playing squad. However the hour is upon us and maybe now plan b is reality, second thoughts are being had and the plan that  was a vague idea has to be firmed up. Bit like brexit - we leave the EU and cut trade deals elsewhere not that easy (or wise) - Yes let sack Bruce, get a younger bloke in , play the u23's - probably sounded easy until around 7pm on saturday.

    I agree with this 100%.

Maybe they even fully intended to go ahead with Bruce into next season whether we were promoted or not. But after witnessing the hapless first half and seeing Bruce going nuclear by chucking on every striker on the books for the last 15 minutes may also have thrown Xia and co.

They have usually been quick to come out and reassure us fans that rumours have been false time and time again, maybe they really are having difficulties this time.

  3. Think the only issues created from todays result is yet another knock in the confidence of the team (If they are bothered) and the momentum lost in the teams results. I think Bruce will pay the price from fans if we don't push on and beat Forest next Saturday.

Having said that, today wasn't a massive game let's be honest. I'd rather we chased promotion than using valuable energy and resources on a cup run.

It's disappointing that we are where we are, but let's hope we can carry on in the league and get out of this mess.

I expect it’s just that Baker Knows how talented Jack is, from his time here, and wanted to either hurt him or scare him out of the game a bit. It doesn’t work though as Jack is used to it ever since his time at Notts County when he was smashed by everyone but always dusted himself off and carried on. He’s a tough bugger!

You're probably right, aside from the tackle it was nice to see him stay on his feet a bit more. Must have gained in confidence as well as strength, he was able to utilise it against Bristol
