  1. Rangers are mentioned more on Sky than any other club in the top 4 of the Premiership, they have an absolute agenda in promoting that club and for one reason only : Steven Gerrard.

Celtics achievements are non existent on Sky and if we had Gerrard we would be used in the same way regardless of success or performance.

Do we want real success or Sky News Fame??

  2. I don't see Keane as a bully at all, again it seems an opinion is made based on speculation and a few prescious footballers crying to the press behind his back after he has gone from the club ( I know which character I would prefer in the dressing room ). Keane was a legend in World football, from what I have seen and heard he is also very honest and will improve the players as long as those players egos can remain in check. The mistakes Keane has made in the past were as a Manager and so far as Ireland's no 2 he seems far more calm and relaxed than before.

  3. He's 32 years old by the time the next season kicks off and even though he might still manage for a couple of years, it's at this age injuries start to take it toll. I would be all for it if we could have signed someone like Tomas Rosicky (who's 34 next season!) who still plays like he is 24, but let's face it, Wes Hoolahan isn't a very good player and there is a reason why he isn't playing for Norwich. I often wonder why certain players aren't playing for clubs like City, United, Chelsea and Arsenal, but clubs like Norwich can't afford to bench their best players for no reason. It's the same with us, we can bench Weimann and Benteke for a few games to rest, but you know they will always play when they are fit.

Hoolahan? No thanks, there's got to be other options in the market who are both better and younger. If not, our scouts need to be sacked ;)

I would drop Weimann in a heartbeat for our home games if we had Hoolihan in the team, IMO he is a very good player indeed, I would have him playing behind Benteke and Gabby upfront, his range of passing and ability to control the ball in the final third is just what I believe we are missing, we would need an experienced head with vision and if he cannot deliver to the front two then he would be able to get the ball out wide and use different options. Dont get me wrong as I rate AW but he doesnt have the best first touch and is still inexperienced for my liking. I know AW is not a no 10 but someone would need to make way for a playmaker.

  4. Sounds to me like we are trying to sign a no 10 today and if we don't then so be it, what is he expected to say to the press! We always keep our business close and that's how it should be, Sky probably can't stand us for this but its better than acting like Harry the Whore.

  5. HI, I have enjoyed reading this site for many years and have now decided to join and where possible add my own thoughts and debate, I have been a Villa fan since the mid seventies when my Dad took myself and my Brother to our first match ( a testimonial game against Ipswich if I remember correctly and George Best played, I was seven so memory very vague).

Originally from Sutton but now living in Donegal Ireland I get to 3 games a year if I am lucky.
