I'm not really assuming it, it's the law of the land.

What similarities? You mean the takeover of Reading that didn't happen? In what way is that similar and why are you blaming one individual for its failure when you know nothing about why it failed?

    No this reading takeover

llast time I checked it was also not illegal to be sceptical of someone's motives

From that link (which appears to be a random conspiracy theory site, not the telegraph):

I'd rather assume he's innocent until there is some evidence. Accusations are not evidence.

You can assume that if you wish but given this an the similarities between our takeover and that of reading fc I'll remain very sceptical until I see otherwise

Please provide evidence. Telling me to Google is not providing evidence. Google has lots of things that are true and lots of things that aren't. If I get asked for your details as part of a libel case, I'd like to think you have a way to defend yourself. Telling a judge to "Google" will get you locked up for contempt.

Let's start by listing the charges the FBI have brought as part of their extradition request (NB. There isn't one). The FBI only have jurisdiction within the US, so you are alleging an offence has been committed by him either in the US or against a US citizen who cannot act on their own behalf (who or what was this?). Go on, Google.

Or retract your statement as it's just you repeating things you found elsewhere on the internet without request to attend cou

there you go, after reading that that was in the telegraph in 2012 gives me my opinion that someone has a chequered past secondly I didn't state anyone was charged with any offence

I take it you've been through all the companies registered at all the football stadiums in the UK and confirmed that they're all only football related businesses then?

An awful lot of people in this world specialise in shifting money around. Anyone who works in the finance industry in most capacities will specialise in moving money around. It's an incredible assumption to make that they're all crooks. Also, he's a director. Your point pretty much falls flat on it's face when you consider that there are plenty of above-board directors of successful businesses who have little to no working knowledge of the industry the business operates in.

Be honest here - if you were reading that, say West Brom, had registered a new company at their stadium that didn't seem to be football related, would you reach the conclusion that something was very fishy about how that club was run? Because if not, you're letting your bias against Samuelson cloud your judgement.

    Correct. It does.

I honestly don't know why you think you're able to see what everyone else can't and that AVFC is doomed by who we have in charge. In this takeover there would have been countless lawyers, bankers and accountants involved, all of whom have their own, and their company's reputation to protect. They wouldn't have done this deal if it wasn't above board. The football league and the premier league have both had their lawyers and corporate intelligence people scrutanise this takeover and those involved, and they've said everything and everyone is above board. Some Journalists have done their best to try and dig something up and not been able to. Some Journalists have spoken to those involved and surmised that this takeover is above board. The ex Chairman of the Bank of England said of the takeover when asked that the future looks bright for the club, clearly he's happy everything is above board.

You can carry on thinking that the club is f**ked if you want. You would have to be smarter than all of these people put together to be right though.

Like I said earlier let's wait and see shall we but as the villa supporters club have asked for a meeting to question the make up of the board I'm hardly on my own in being concerned about this guy that no one has ever heard of buying the club

and a point that I've raised before is that why xia didn't appear to have another soul from the recon group attached to Aston villa, every single member of the board is connected to Chris Samuelson who has a chequered past when it comes to having involvement in football clubs

if you think this is completely normal then fair enough

  5. 7 minutes ago, Godders said:

No need to apologise. What do you find bizarre about it?

New company address at villa park run by a mate of Chris Samuelson called Jamie banfill who from what I hear specialises in shifting money around an no apparent expertise in the health food industry

    seems completely normal!!

  6. 1 minute ago, Godders said:

Yeah I can see how it's strange that specialists in football finance, with prior experience of holding directorships at football clubs, would sit on the board of a football club.

    Specialists?

sorry I find that comment bizarre but let's wait an see shall we, we have hardly set the world alight with these billions some of you seem to think we have

  7. 3 minutes ago, Godders said:

Would you care to enlighten us then as to how this is 'evidence' that the club is being screwed over by a bunch of crooks?

If anything untoward is happening at our football club we won't find out for some time yet, I just find it a bit strange that Chris Samuelson an his mates are SO involved in the running of the club

that is all I'm pointing out

  8. 29 minutes ago, Godders said:

Think we're probably also after evidence that Samuelson has ever actually done anything wrong.

would be nice if you could find something he has done right within a football club?

i think some villa fans are so desperate to be the next man city or chelsea they are willing to accept anything that dr xia says as gospal

  9. 8 minutes ago, limpid said:

Show me EVIDENCE not things people are repeating on the internet. There is nothing to "reflect" on anyone unless we know some facts.

Please share the facts you've found about these two other bids. Assuming they actually exist, was he anything more than a middleman? How do you know he was trying to take control? Everything I've read suggests he's a middleman. Even if he was trying to take control, what exactly is wrong with that?

this is taken from the liverpool echo about chris samuelson

He was conjured up by Bill Kenwright in 2004 when the Swiss based financier was head of a body called the Fortress Sports Fund, which promised to invest £12.8m in the Blues but ultimately failed to deliver a single penny.

Paraded at an Everton AGM and introduced as a lifelong Evertonian, one doubting fan declared: “Who scored the winning goal in the 1966 FA Cup final?”

Clearly stumped, Samuelson stuttered: “Errr, I was a student in Munich in 1966.”

The promised investment proved equally as vague.

On December 22 2004, Samuelson said: “Cash transfers can take three or four days and I hope it is with Everton by Christmas.”

However the money had not materialised by January, and in February 2005, then chief executive Keith Wyness stated that the club had begun to look for other potential investors.

Almost a decade later Samuelson became a director of Reading, but left the club in 2014 when the Royals became embroiled in serious financial difficulties.

I suppose he borrowed a few hundred million for a few days just to show the football league Tony had the cash and then gave it back. Then faked the entire RECON group?

chris samuelson moves money around for a living, not beyond the realms of possibility he could move money from one bank account to another without xia owing any of it, there is no doubt RECON group exists but the wealth of the company is completely unknown

  11. 2 minutes ago, limpid said:

How exactly does this reflect negatively on Samuelson? In this story, it's the buyers who failed to come up with the money, that's nothing to do with him. I'm calling it a story because there are no facts.

you dont think any of the stuff you have read about chris samuelson reflects badly on him? i find that remarkable if im honest

he may not have done a thing wrong but the fact he already had 2 failed attempts to gain control over football clubs concerns me

I am a betting man which is EXACTLY why I don't have ANY Internet betting accounts. Way to easy to piddle money away! Mind you if it means I can watch. Indian Premier League............

lol i understand what your saying but it is excellent for watchin live football from around the world and a little fiver here an there now and again never hurt anyone

This, basically. And as I've said on the previous page, some people give the impression that they are far more learned than me on the subject of Samuelson, so I'd just like to know what it is they appear to know. So I can start to piece it together myself.

The internet turns up a whole load of conjecture that seems to snowball via blogs and social media with very little (no) evidence to back it up.

I am concerned, but only because others seem to be and I tend to want to know stuff before I go off the deep end.

the concern for me  is does  dr xia really have any great wealth and also the fact that it appears our board will be made up entirely of people that are either involved in samuelsons swiss company or that have some association with samuelson, no one on the board will be from recon (apart from xia)

which ever way you look at the samuelson thing he dosnt have any actual great wealth himself (unless he borrows it) and he does seem to leave a trial of destruction behind himself

this makes me wonder who it is that has actually bought our club, is it xia or is he just here to look like the squeaky clean billionaire and that actually the person behind this sale is samuelson (remember lerner was desperate to get rid of villa, did he just sell us to the first buyer that came along)

this is only rumour but some people have suggested that samuelson has borrowed money to buy villa with xia as the front man and that any parachute payments and player sales would be funding us going forward, if promotion is then not achieved we could find ourseleves in alot of financial trouble in 18-24 months time

of course this is all just rumour and us as fans will probably not know a thing until the dirty stuff hits the fan at the end of next season, it will be interesting though to see how much money is actually spent between now an then on players

i should also add that i have been told that samuelson headed a swiss consortium that attempted to buy us 12-18 months ago, that deal aaparantly collapsed due to the fact they couldnt prove they had the funds to complete the takeover

How do people know so much about all these foreign players? Makes me feel like a right dunce who is no proper fan of the game. Never watch Swiss or Swedish football in fact wouldn't even know how to. I can barely find time to watch all the English football games without watching forrin football as well.

Your not a betting man then, if you open a bet365 account, as long as you leave 1p in your account you can watch plenty of global football for free, I have a fondness for the Dutch an Aussie league although if you fancy a chuckle watch Indian premier league

  15. Wow well I can see I'm in the minority about having concerns about who is gonna be running our football club, will use have to wait an see if I'm still in the minority in a years time especially if we don't get promoted first time

"Guy in Finance wants to make money in business transaction shocker!"

At what cost to the club?

reading fans questioned where the money had gone while he was in charge with them

  17. I'm pleased that the supporters club has requested a meeting with wyness and have also raised their concerns about the make up of our board

i have a nasty feeling that Samuelson and banfill are gonna be having more than just a say in how our club is operating and one thing is for certain... They are here to make money for themselves, nothing more, nothing less

on an unrelated note, if you ever want to appreciate Villatalk, go visit some other teams fans forums. there is some horrible ugly little sites out there that hurt the senses to even visit.

So big shout out to the guys in charge here, you's do us proud

I spoke to a customer who is a cherries fan yesterday an asked him about elphick, he thought it was just paper talk an that he would be gutted to see him leave, a born leader was his exact words

Enough already, I'm banging my head against a wall reading your nonsense and it **** hurts!

Business is not always pretty and nor are some of the individuals involved in business but beyond what you perceive to know of these people just be **** happy for Aston Villa will you and stop dragging the rest of us down

In all honesty like some I'm not gulable or stupid enough to roll over an go all gooey eyed just because we have been sold to a guy claiming to make us a top 3 club in 5 years

i wanna see the proof of it first!!

my club will have my undying support no matter what happens, what ever dr xias or Chris samuelsons plans are will become clear in time until then I'll remain sceptical

What's your hypothesis? That Xia is dodgy? Recon?

In all honesty I don't know an we may not know for a while yet, a lot I think will depend on weather we go straight back up, I've been a villa fan for a long time an ill be there supporting them no matter what but the fact that Hitchens set up recon sport for xia and Samuelson an then immediately resigns followed by the fact Samuelson has filled the board with associates of his and not xias worrys me tremendously
