To all those who will be at VP this weekend - keep the chants going loud and strong.
To those staying at home - keep the faith and will it to happen.
Our luck has to change at some point. We've never been out of the Premier League - keep that in your hearts and keep the passion alive. Stats don't mean anything because that's all in the past. Look to the future!
Well said

Going to wear the number 24 shirt apparently. Let's hope he's better than the last Carlos who occupied that shirt
I wonder if it's because 2 + 4 = 6? I remember reading ages ago that Yorke chose the number 18 shirt because it added up to 9 and that was the real number he wanted.
Usually is the case, except for 23 which is the old Michael Jordan Jersey. Infamous with the star of the team, hence beckham wore it for galaxy and I think Madrid..
Jesus I need a life!

The fifa bible says he is a LB that can also play RB but a lot of the comments on there say that he's actually a RW? Guess that means lambert would play him as holding midfielder then

Just off the top of my head:
Guzan, Given, Steer
Lowton, Vlaar, Okore, Clarke, Baker, Senderos, Donacien, Bennett, Luna, Hutton - Senderos
Westwood, Delph, El Ahmadi, Nzogbia, Agbonlahor, Tonev, Bacuna, Sylla?, Gardner, Johnson, Grealish, Cole
Robinson, Kozak, Weimann, Benteke, Bent
I genuinely don't think that this squad is that bad, don't get me wrong it's probably the worst in my 32 years supporting the villa. (Apart from graham Taylor's second reign - maybe) but still it should certainly be strong enough to avoid relegation. IMO. I believe we should be looking at 12-15th.
3 new players needed to settle the ship I reckon. Another left back. Strong DM, and a winger with pace.
Apart from that use the kids and all in all we should be strong enough.
Oh and Flipping renew Vlaar, Gabby and Delph's contracts ASAP!

I still believe that okore will become quality.
So...
Vlaar or lescott? vlaar for me
Okore or lescott? Okore for me, younger and seems highly talented
So why would we sign him to sit on the bench? He wouldn't sign for that either, that's why he's leaving citeh.
Senderos presumably doesn't care about being back up, he has been most of his career.

Steve Wynn? Edit - I been told this guy is closing in on a deal for the club. Any other person heard about this Wynn fella?
I would love it just love it.
He's a legend in Vegas, and has built some of the most amazing hotels out there and just as importantly (with no expense spared)
If he could implement just a fraction of that talent on the villa, we'll be flying and not least to say one of the most fashionable clubs in the US to go along with that too.
Chance of this happening IMO - 1/10
Why would he?

The new Paul Merson. All we need next is john Arne ruuse, and he can be the new Steve Staunton

Even if he has £15m to spend, if that is spent on two relatively good players rather than having to buy half a squad, it should improve us. That said, I think we need at least 4 quality players added to the squad overall.
Think we'll start the season with Kozak and Okore both back, which should automatically be an improvement on the team we had during our Benteke-less second half of the season. Suppose things could also depend on if anybody is sold.
Problem is who would want to join us? Usually a player moves for
Money - we have none and I doubt Lerner will increase the wage bill just before he leaves
Manager - not sure if ours will still be there in a few weeks
Trophies - .......
Really concerned now, our only hope would be new owners in the next 4-5 weeks..... Until then, I can't see us signing anyone that will improve this squad.

There are two ffps, uefa and domestic. Uefa doesn't apply to us, but is much stricter, domestic does but has bigger penalties like docked points.
I thought the FFP rules only kick in if your playing in a European competition? This year were not. And probably next.. so if it was the case someone wanted to invest heavily this year and maybe next year would be the time to do it....
Ok it's impossible to put a figure on how much we need to spend but any dreams of a billionaire coming in and spending large amounts to get us competing with the top 4 will very much remain a dream because of FFP.
We really don't.On a different note I read that City have announced they are only spending 60M net this summer transfer window to comply with FFP.
We need that much spent just to get mid table.
Under domestic ffp the club can only run up a maximum loss of 35m per year, and the owner MUST pay that
off out of his own pocket
Ahhhh... So basically any buyer would need to spend just as much on our marketing and branding to try and balance the books. Not a bad thing really, so maybe a business savvy yank who could make us the fashionable club to support over there could be the key... Who knows?! Just anyone buy us and invest please!!!!

Very true, I was just thinking the same thing, just a bit inpatient..
How do you know all business is concluded? Nobody even knows what the statement is about, it could be something on-going.
Yea got on with it, he's known for weeks if not months? So what's the wait. Should of just came out with it after the hull game.
"get on with it"? The season finished 3 hours ago. The impatience with people these days is hilarious.Odds on a statement tonight?.....
FFS just get on with it!

Lambert already said don't expect it before or imminently after the game. Monday or Tuesday.
Still I live in hope.... Don't want to stop searching for news just in case.......
