Maybe the reddit guy was right afterall....

    What did he say mate?

Something along the lines of "Kozak will go out on loan, Sherwood wants Lennon but Spurs don't want to loan him out, and we don't want to buy him. We've beaten Stoke and Liverpool for Traore"

Gonna try and find the link cheers.

If anyone's got it can you post it please.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/avfc/comments/3gd84t/kozak_to_be_loaned_out/

Hey guys, some of you might know me from around the sub, and if you do, you might perhaps know that a family member of mine works at the Villa... That's a disclaimer that this info has no backing other than word of mouth from them, so give me a break on that regard.

But basically, it's pretty much a done deal that Kozak will be loaned out. He's not as "sharp or fast or good as the other players." I asked my family member if they thought that another striker would be brought in, and apparently, Gestede/Ayew/Agbonlahor is all we are going to get, even playing with 2 striker formations.

Also apparently Aaron Lennon will not happen because he won't go on loan with a year left on his contract and he won't be bought because of price. Apparently Adama Traore is nearly a done deal as well. Tim wants prem experience (why he wants Lennon), but management is not positive that the price variation between him and someone like Traore is worth all the extra money.

Sorry if y'all are looking for concrete evidence, cus I ain't giving you that, but I hope that if these things come true, that perhaps you'll trust me more on this end, haha!

  2. If utd don't pay him up then maybe we can change it to a loan deal in the 11th hour, which as long as there was an option to buy I'd prefer anyway

Isn't he out of contract next summer? How could the loan deal include an option to buy if he would no longer be a Man Utd player once the loan ended?

Similar to Stoke loaning Ireland from us.

  3. Have we had the trent nod of confirmation and white smoke

Wasn't it Trent that mentioned a couple of weeks ago that we were still in the market and Roy Keane could have a massive influence in one of our potential signings? Or have I just completely imagined that?
  4. Current state of the squad:

GK: 2 Players (Guzan & Given) (Steer out on loan)

RB: 3 Players (Hutton, Lowton & Bacuna)

LB: 6 Players (Cissokho, Richardson, Bennett, Stevens, Clark & Baker)

CB: 5 Players (Vlaar, Okore, Senderos, Baker, Clark)

CM: 7 Players (Delph, Westwood, Sanchez, El Ahmadi, Herd, Gardner, Bacuna)

    LM/LW: 4 Players (Richardson, N'Zogbia, Agbonlahor Grealish & Bennett)

    RM/RW: 4 Players (N'Zogbia, Wiemann, Bacuna & Lowton)

AM: 6 Players (Cole, N'Zogbia, Grealish, Gardner, Richardson & Grealish)

ST: 7 Players (Benteke, Kozak, Agbonlahor, Wiemann, Bent, Robinson & Burke)

Looking at this I think we can afford to let 2 left backs go (Stevens & Bennett), 1 central midfielder (Herd) & 1 striker (Bent once Benteke & Kozak are back)

  5. We have 27 players in a 25 man squad who would you drop from the squad at this stage?

The 2 players I would drop at this stage would be Enda Stevens and Chris Herd but also look to send either Baker or Clark out on loan to the Championship.

If we can sell KEA for a nominal fee (we currently have Delph, Westwood, Gardner, Sanchez, Cole, Richardson & N'Zogbia fighting over the 3 central midfield positions) that would then free up a spot for another signing.

  6.

Delph, herd, Cole looks a better midfield 3 than what we had most of last season.

Cole, a bag of cement and Stephen Hawking look better than what we had most of last season.

I'd like to see you sign a bag of cement with no money.

Even a midfield 3 of Herd, Delph & Westwood would (Edward Woodward would) have a lot more balance, with KEA in there I think we have too many headless chickens running around, Herd would add the required steel.

I think there really might be something in this Joshua Harris link mainly based on this tweet from Matt Law back on the 14th May:

@preston76 Hi Michael, do you have an email address I can contact you on?

    https://twitter.com/Matt_Law_DT/status/466585979462365184

@Preston76 is Michael Preston. Michael is the Director of Public Relations for Philadelphia 76ers who are owned by Joshua Harris & David S Blitzer amongst others.

This would tie in with the claims in the media that talks have been ongoing for a number of weeks.

Moments later when people started calling him out on it.

    Matt Law @Matt_Law_DT · May 14

lot of people will be disappointed if they base rumours on my Twitter movements.

Yet now an article he was involved with was published stating that the American billionaire in question has actually been in talks for weeks?

Was Matt Law just covering his tracks with this follow up tweet?

  8. I don't think so, just a journalist trying to get an interview.

Over a month before Joshua Harris' name was mentioned in the media? I can't see any other reason my Matt Law would be trying to get an interview with the PR bloke from a random NBA team.

I still think letting Collins go was a mistake

He was a decent bog standard prem defender couldn't see us getting relegated with him and Vlaar at the back better than Baker and Clark anyway

And i do think he is better than Senderos

Cahill is truly the CB which got away though. Smh

Should have put a buy back clause in the sale to Bolton? he went to Chelsea for £8m I think?

Senderos is a small step up from Clark and Baker, though all 3 are mistake prone!

Didn't he go to Chelsea for free as he was out of contract?

  11. I'm sure they wouldn't want to be associated with a team doing poorly.

But wouldn't Doyen owning us be a conflict of interest. If they're loaning other teams money and owning us at the same time?

I think the set up of the separate company with independent backers would alleviate any concerns of a conflict of interest.

  12. I dreamt last night that Lerner pledged to give us £120m to spend this window to get us to start challenging for the top 4 again.

I thought that little piece of information is just as interesting and reliable as anything that's been posted over the last few weeks so make of it what you will.

Excellent, I'm off to buy the whole family season tickets on the back of this information, can't wait for the season to start now!

  13.

I think there are hands on the table. My friend is confident, so I am too. He did say he hears different info from the club each day though. Says it is confusing and almost deliberate.

I am sure someone said the club were purposefully leaking potentially misleading info?

Muddy waters, that is why we are getting differing stories from the press.

The metro are saying that we shouldn't panic as a deal may be closer than we think where other sources are saying there is no buyer lined up.

Rename the thread £200 million Tuco-ver.

    That's a good Juan

Oh dear, what have I started?

    EDIT:

Somebody needs to photoshop this on to our shirt to see what it will look like with our new sponsors

  15. Here's an old video of Bob Rich from the Iplayer when he got involved with Beddlington. Could be some interesting foreshadowing about a minute and a half into it.

Not reading anything into it but that's weird that our name was seemingly plucked out of mid air, especially as we weren't publicly for sale then too.

    Coincidence I'm sure though.

Thanks for the hint. not able to view the video on BBC... cause I'm in the states maybe? Anything else interesting?

If you use Google Chrome you can install that extension which let's you select which country you want your browser to think you're from, this should let you watch iPlayer.

Also very good if you have Netflix or similar in the UK as the choice is much better in the US.

    Sorry for going OT.

time to sell the one season wonder kid.

This. He did nothing at the back end of last season, and I blame him for us struggling like we did. Get shot of him now, cus you know he'll be terrible in the World Cup, and we'll never get rid of him then.

You're right, I bet he doesn't even score 1 goal at the world cup and won't be anywhere near the team of the tournament!

  17. two reasons for this ;-

    1) it deflects attention and conversation away from plane spotting.......

    2) it clears the decks for uneasy questions that may get asked when due diligence takes place and even if the former bomb squad members aren't required by a new manager / owner it helps to make them more sellable (although not easy)...and in the meantime they can step in if needed as opposed to for example resigning Grant Holt...

If having them in the squad makes them more sellable then why have we not had them in the squad during the 2 years we have been trying to sell them?

  18.

I never thought Hutton played as bad as people made out. He had a few shockers but had some decent games too.

I remember watching one game where he was brilliant, right up until the point where he got sent off for an absolutely diabolical 'tackle'.

Did he get sent off against West Brom for destroying Shane Long or did he get away with that one?

He certainly has a few horror challenges in his locker.
