  1.

Daily Mail: Tom Cleverley wants to be reunited with Roberto Martinez at Everton. Rejecting moves to Villa and Hull City.

    Hope this is true!!!!

Possible Translation: Tom Cleverley's agent talks up possibility of move to Everton to bolster his client's position in wage negotiations with Aston Villa.

  2. What questions should he ask new signings then?

"What do you think of the Gaza situation?"

"Who is going to win The Great British Bake Off?"

    "Does God exist?"

It's hardly odd that he asks them Villa/football related questions.

  3. Hardly. I genuinely cannot think of a player with less defensive ability that I've seen playing for us and his performance against Norwich really was that bad.

You obviously weren't around for legends like Steve Sims and Bernie Gallagher if Luna is the least able defender you have seen playing for us.

  4. It's just a bit mental reading TBAR. Everyone seems to be convincing themselves that Arison ia buying us sooner rather than later based on a photo that looks like Meatloaf's older brother. I don't see that level of desperation on here, which is a relief. Or maybe this site is where the realists/pessimists hang out whilst all of the optimists/loonies hang out on TBAR.

You could have just stopped after the first sentence really!

  5. Unless your hours were cut temporarily (i.e. you have been on Short Time and your contractual hours haven't changed) then your Statutory Redundancy Payment will be based on your reduced hours, I'm afraid.

The rules about "a week's pay" are very complicated, I'm an employment lawyer but I have to check and recheck them myself quite often, but as a general rule if you have normal working hours and your pay does not vary with the amount of work done in those hours then you are entitled to be paid what you would be paid for the working week under the contract in force at the relevant time (i.e. now.)

If your pay does vary e.g. because you get commission, overtime etc then the calculation is based on the average of the previous 12 weeks although then again there are quite complicated rules about which weeks count,

If you get stuck you can always DM me and I can see whether I can help.

  6. Because if you were talking to a "journalist" (I use that word in its loosest sense) about reducing the price you would tell them that if any buyer hangs on you will reduce it further in due course. That would make perfect sense.

  7. Apparently something in the Sunday's?

Dunno about The Sunday's. But I would like to put something in The Saturday's. Well Una whatserface anyway

Can't Be Sure, but hopefully Here's Where The Story Ends.

  8. McLaughlin & Sterns website is shit.

I'd want a bit more flash if I were spending £200 million.

Speaking as one myself, lawyers' websites are generally not much cop. By and large they are directed more towards impressing the competition than being useful to the public.

Would be happy if Lambert was sacked now and IMO there is no point waiting for a new owner. At least once he is gone he won't be able to damage the club anymore.

What if a new owner doesn't come? We just carry on without a manager?

I would back Sid to get better results out of Lambert's players than Lambert himself.

Really ? - He hasn't had great results with the youth this season, and is rumoured not to be interested in a full on management job. Great player as he was - I think if he was managing the first term next season - it would pretty much be a disaster - Not that we can put everything on him. I just don't he is the man to stop the rot.

Sid has God-like status amongst Villa fans at the moment. He scored the first Villa goal I ever saw in the flesh, against the Blose in 1978. I wouldn't want to see that esteem tainted by people getting on his case because the first team wasn't performing under him. Probably best not to go there.

  10. Playing for the Beacon Centre for the Blind against Aston Villa Old Stars at Hednesford Town on Sunday at 2.30 pm. You can pay on the door £5 for adults, £2 for kids.

There's a family fun day which kicks off at 1.30 pm ahead of the game.

I shall probably only get about 20 minutes if that because I'm a) old and B) crap.

  11.

Someone claims in TBAR that all staff in Villa have been asked to apply again for their job...if that's true, I wonder what will happen to our Jack!

Clearly cobblers because if there was a takeover all of the staff would transfer automatically under TUPE.

    TUPE?

Yes. Without being too anal, the Transfer of Undertaking (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006.

Ah thanks, as I'm not from UK I don't know english laws.

Its all right - no-one in the UK understands TUPE, not even us lawyers.

    "Carnival of Light" by Ride.

It has made me remember why I stopped buying their stuff after the first 2 albums.

My wife loved them, particularly those first few ep's I liked my indie a little more upbeat and so if ever the day happens, heaven forbid, that we have to separate the record collections I will take one solitary single in twisterella.

The first 2 EPs are definitely the best. They were a fantastic live band.

  15. I really don't want us to keep sacking managers every 1-2 years and I would love to think Lambert could work things out but when ANY Manager of Aston Villa starts bigging up STAYING UP as a fantastic achievement then it is time for him to go.

  16. Great news Telegraph reporting the players have clauses in contracts to give them pay cuts if we go down ,,,

As has Lambert! As if he'd still be there for it to be activated!
