  1. "That will offset the club’s top deals with Gabriel Agbonlahor, Stiliyan Petrov, Richard Dunne and Stephen Ireland, who all earn above the average."

Seriously? I knew Ireland was on more than £57k but would be very surprised if the others are. I always thought our top earners were Ireland, Bent and Heskey. In fact, the whole article looks like pure BS.

  2. I cannot believe that people would want to play our most gifted playmaker at left back. For real?

Bit of a stretch that is.

I've not been too impressed with Delph to be honest. At times he looks good, but he often takes too long on the ball and loses possession far too easily. His tackles are reckless and IMO he offers little going forward. Think he would be better if he was playing with a proper DCM and a proper ACM in a 3 man midfield.

That said, I'd drop him when Jenas is fit and go with Petrov holding, Jenas as a box-to-box midfielder, with Ireland just behind Bent/Gabby.

  3. Just had a look at a Man City forum, out of interest, and could not believe the abuse we were getting from some of them. Slating our attendance v Wolves (which was shit, I know, but there were many factors for it).

Bunch of arseholes they are. Used to be a decent set of fans but now the success is going to their heads. Having said that, there were some decent posters on there who spoke sense.

I'm sure if we were spending hundreds of millions year on year and keeping our best players we would be selling out too.

  4. I was impressed with the back 4, particularly the full backs. Bannan had a good game, but IMO both Makoun and Ireland were not up to scratch. This against a very poor team too. N'Zogbia didn't look match fit and Albrighton's delivery was not good enough and his overall play was far too predictable.

Bent looked frustrated and I can't blame him - every time he got the ball it was in wide positions and nobody got themselves in the box to cover for him.

On a side note, the kid Hereford brought on in the latter stages looked 12 years old, how the hell did he get a game?

  5. We all know he wants to stay and would stay!?? Errrr, no he doesn't, hence why he isn't signing a contract or wanting to stay. :?

As Bickster said, it's been reported by trusted ITK's on here I believe that he had made this decision even before Houllier had come in, way earlier in the summer, so it's certainly not anything new. :?

Would I want to stay at a club right now? Course I would. If I played for Villa and loved it there, I wouldn't then at the first sign of the club having one bad season, just jump ship as possible. I'd want to fight for the club and get them back upto the top 6.

Biggest joke in English football? That's if you want it to be. We're 2 points off 8th place, had shit loads of injuries, change of managers, yet we're the biggest joke in English football?

I haven't seen one person mention to me how they are laughing at Villa or of the sort?

    Talk about over dramatizing things.

If I was him I'd leave. He's not a villa fan! People seem to think footballers have some sort of obligation to stay at a club.

If you worked for a small firm and a large firm made it known they wanted to employ you and offer you much more money, would you turn it down just because you were happy in your current employment? No, because how do you know you're not going to be even happier at the new place with loads more cash and better prospects.

Face it, we're not getting anywhere near top 4 any time soon. He looks like he needs a change of scenery too, hasn't quite reached his form of a couple of seasons ago.

  6. If it is to be SHA, I'd actually prefer it to be at their place. I couldn't bear having 6,500 of them at VP, whilst we would probably get the whole of the Railway End there.

there is no way that the police would allow that many away fans at either game

Well then, the police are ghey!

  7. **** pathetic this is. Surely they would have had the basic template of the kit ready and waiting for the announcement of the sponsor. I cannot believe it takes 2 months from the unveiling to the sale.

  8. **** me, why are people surprised that nike haven't made a new template specifically for us?

A bit of perspective people!! We are not Man United.

The kit looks good, its a bit different to the usual. I'm happy with it.

  9. What makes you think Kuyt would want to come to Villa? Hardly a step up (even if we have finished slightly above them in, lets face it, a freakishly poor season for them) as they are in europa league too.

That fee of 6-7m is laughable too. Double it and maybe you're close. Oh, and we probably wouldn't match his wages.

  10. James Milner is a Champions League quality player, the only player we have who is (imo) unquestionably of that standard. I'm not sure we can, or really should, get in the way of a move to his proper level. I'd love to think we could hold onto him, but really, he needs to step up now if he is to properly fulfil his massive potential to go on and become a genuine world class talent.

Good luck James whatever you chose to do, and thanks for this last season

Can i be the first to say... WTF? I wasn't aware A CL club had bid for him. People were moaning about us paying 12m for him and now he's the dogs bollocks? Another season at Villa won't do him any harm at all.

  11. If mon can't convince him they are willing to heavily invest in the team to take the club forward then he will leave. If he is fast becoming a England regular then will definately want cl football

Id love to know where you get your valuations for your summer transfer targets

    100% guesstimations

    100% fantasy more like.

  12. A friend of mine who works at the sh*tty city has told me that as a last resort they are prepared to offer......

£30 million plus onuoha, ireland and richards as they are that desperate for him. They think that is a £45 mill total, ohh yes to that!!!! Would still tell them to do one though as i think the boy is class!

I find this incredibly hard to believe. Their initial offer was £20m, and as far as I'm aware, they haven't made a bid since.

So you say they value this deal at £45m, more than double the initial offer? If true, Mancini really isn't as smart as people think.

  13. I wouldn't sell unless it was silly money. Milner has been great this season and will only get better due to his work ethic.

He doesn't seem the type of player/person to make waves and I would hope he wants to stay. After being treated like shit at Newcastle and moving from club to club, surely he would like some stability.
