  1. If Gardner is better than reo-coker,why hasn't he been looked at for the England U21's?I'm all for supporting villa players but its mad to say gardner is better than Reo-Coker who has been quality in the last three or four years at first team level as well as captaining the U21's.Gardner had a good end to the season but he's hardly set the world alright, think some people have got a little carried away with how good he actually is or can be.

  2. how can anyone say that heinze would be a bad signing. the kid is class, FACT. he would be amazin at villa, he is twice the player that bouma is, and i rate bouma.

Please, please, see realism. Players like heinze would make us class. there really is no pleasin some people

It's not point of realism.I've seen alot of Man U this season and he's been by far their worst player this season.Just because he plays for United doesn't auatomatically mean he's class. He was quality last season but since he had that bad injury he hasn't been half the player.Plus he's 29 and would want massive wages.Would much prefer to sign someone with potential and a bit of hunger who can actually pass a ball.

  3. Gabriel Heinze would be a perfect player for us, no doubt about it at all.

Sure he has been worser this season but it is due to his injuries, pressure and competition. Every time he has come on he has been under pressure to perform because Evra has gone from being a little headless chicken to world-class left back. Remember how quick things change in football, last season Heinze was superb and Evra couldn't control a ball. With a pre-season under his belt and 20 games on the trot Heinze would return to his previous form. I also think he looked really good today, he would become somewhat of a cult figure at Villa Park.

Would he come here though? Not a chance, he would only go to Spain or Italy and it really doesn't look like he wants to leave Old Trafford. Saying that, how many benchwarmers have left OT the last 10 years?

The fact that Heinze has struggled to play under pressure can't be a good thing surely???We want competition for places and if he can't handle that then could be a problem.Don't think this a very good argument anyway i just don't think he has ever recovered from his injury and being 29, no scope for development.

Anyway, agree with you, don't think he'd come here to be honest which makes this argument a complete waste of time.Still don't think he's good enough and thought he was the worst player in the pitch in the final today.

  4. Have any of you been watching heinze this season???He has been garbage! Was quality last season before he got injured but he's been truly awful this season.Just because he plays for Man U doesn't automatically mean hes good, would have bouma ahead of him any day.Plus, he'd want big wages and hes getting on.Would be a big mistake signing him in my opinion

  5. Ridiculous!I don't think some of our fans realise how lucky we are to have a manager of MON's quality and if it hadn't been for the takeover we probably would have ended up with Souness and gone down.Yes maybe O'Neils being a little pessimistic but so what, if he comes up with the big signings we are hoping for then it will be all the better.Under Ellis we were always promised much without anything actually happening, maybe under this regime it will be the other way round. To judge it now with little or no evidence is very much jumping the gun in my opinion. Also, on the point of MON finding quality in the lower leagues, whats wrong with that???Surely he shouldn't be criticised for it?!You can't spend £10 million on every player in you're squad unless you're Chelsea.

  6. I can't believe the negative attitude towards Defoe on the message boards here.Whenever he has had a run of games wherever he's been he's scored hatfuls of goals.Plus he's a full England International and last summer everyone was saying he should be going to the world cup!

The fact that Jol doesn't know his best strikeforce and keeps chopping and changing hasn't helped Defoe but he is a top quality finisher who I think would be a bargain at £7m. In my opinion he is a class above Bent who, althought he has done well for Charlton he hasn't been around for too long whereas Defoe has been banging goals in at this prem level for years.I still have doubts on whether Bent can sustain what he's done.
