I'm sorry but I can't believe he has to say to the players... find the pass from the touch line... I thought we were watching professional football. What has happened, I never feel comfortable when we have the ball. They can't keep the ball for more than 5 minutes.

Maybe harsh but we need to build now, using most players until Jan... let's get behind the lads esp players like baker and the ones that have come through.

His passing is pretty good. 

His shooting is very good.

His basic technique is basic. 

He works hard without covering a lot of ground in the way some modern midfielders do. 

He cannot press to save his life. His idea of pressing is to run up to the player and not get beat as if you were playing five a side. If someone gets in his ear and has a go at him he runs up to the player too fast an fouls him. 

I wish Gary would teach him how to tackle. 

He put in a shift last night don't get me wrong but I'm surprised people are getting excited about that performance because other than two decent and let's face it pretty straight forward passes he was very anonymous. 

Get hold of yourself, the line quoted by someone earlier... he gets into the box after the pass to ayew!

I fear under Bruce, the crowd will turn very quickly if he doesn't get off to a flying start. We'd then be in another situation with a toxic atmosphere every time we play. 

I agree with this completely... but I have recently heard a few bad reviews from walsall fans that he can't make a good change when needed, waiting to the 75 min to make a change. We have been lacking a manager with complete faith in his ability that he hasn't bottled his plan after a slight turn in supporters, we were playing fine at the beginning and had luck been on our side this season it could be so different, but those reviews from the walsall lads have made me doubt myself.... I really am not sure anymore.

Give Ciaran time I think he has the attributes to become a great player in either CB/CDM position with the guidance of lambert.

When we sell both Bent and Benteke for a combined £30m we need to reinvest at least half of that back into the squad. I would hope that we will go after at least 1 striker, plus an attacking midfielder.

 

However, with Benteke going it doesn't mean that we will actually spend any money until the wage bill comes down. Desperate for Given and Ireland to follow Bent out of the door so that Lambert is able to really improve our squad.

 

I would look to take Sigurrdson and £15m off Spurs for Benteke.

hi everyone UTV, my name is tony and i have been going down the villa since i was 5, i am now 24.

There has been some ups and downs over my time as a supporter the past years, however through it all i have tried to stay positive. It was especially hard the 02/03 season when i had to get used to the fact someone would be waving me home after every away game, apart from one, on December the 28th! It was was a cracker we won 5-2 and we stayed for a good hour after, singing jingles bells!     

I've been a reader of villa talk for many years now i have decided its time!
